    ==General==
    • Great Speed and Special Attack Stats
    • Limited Movepool
    • Frail defenses
    • Higher Speed than Rotom-C
    • Main use is as a revenge killer

    ==Sets==

    ===Choice==
    {{set|name=Choice
    |pkmn=Manectric
    |nature=Timid
    |item=Choice Specs/Choice Scarf
    |ability=Lightningrod
    |ev=4HP/252 Sp. Att/252 Spe
    |move1=Thunderbolt |move11=Volt Switch
    |move2=Overheat |move21=Flamethrower
    |move3=Hidden Power Grass
    |move4=Switcheroo}}

    Manectric's most common set in the LU tier. Due to it's great speed stat it is one of the fast Pokemon in the tier and hits hard like a truck. To gain the full range of coverage that Manectric has, it's common to go 3 different type attacks and Switcheroo. Thunderbolt is for raw power that let's Manectric deal damage on the specs set, while Volt Switch is a scout tactic on the Scarf set. Overheat let you take advantage of the common hit and run strategy Manectric employs and hits hard against Steel, Grass, and Ice types and switch out to negate the Special Attack drop. Flamethrower is a safer option that let's Manetric not face any repercussions if you find yourself in multi-Pokemon vs Manectric battle and not have to deal with Overheat's negative effect. Hidden Power Grass is for coverage on Ground types like Rhydon and Quagsire as well as the Volt Absorb using Lanturn that try and come in expect to absorb an Electric attack. Switcheroo is this sets wildcard as opposing teams have to worry about a stall or pivot Pokemon getting a Choice item and becoming useless. If power and scouting ability is what you need, then it is possible to forgo either Hidden Power or Switcheroo in favor of dual-STAB attacks on Manectric. Users need to be aware that due to the nature of it's attack scheme, Manectric's attacks may be absorb by an immune/resisted type, and act as a set up for that Pokemon.

    ===Special Attacker===
    {{set|name=Special Attacker
    |pkmn=Manectric
    |nature=Timid
    |item=Life Orb/Expert Belt
    |ability=Lightningrod
    |ev=4HP/252 Sp. Att/252 Spe
    |move1=Thunderbolt
    |move2=Flamethrower
    |move3=Hidden Power Grass
    |move4=Volt Switch}}

    Same set as the last one, but this is meant for Manectric to stay in as it attempts to sweep. Taking advantage of Life Orb boosting every attack's power, or Expert Belt powering up the Super Effective hits that you want Manectric to dish out is the focus of this set. ThunderBolt is still Manectric's main attack that will hit a majority of it's opponents for damage. Flamethrower gets the nod over Overheat on this set in terms of priority as you will be trying to stay in as much as you can to attack, though Overheat is still an option if you so choose. Hidden Power Grass once again is for the multitude of Ground types that are in the tier and take little damage from Flamethrower and no damage from ThunderBolt, as well as for Lanturn. Seeing as Switcheroo isn't needed on this set, Volt Switch is used to scout and as a momentum pivot.

    ==Synergy==
    Manectric isn't really changing a whole lot between it's sets and partners very well with water and flying types very well due to it's ability, Lightningrod, it can come in on Electric attacks for them and receive a Special Attack boost. Poliwrath is Manectric's best partner to take a hit from Ground type Pokemon, as most other Water types are potentially 2HKO'd on switches by Earthquake unless they are faster than their target, as well Omastar, Feraligatr, and Slowking can be used for non-STAB Ground attack users. Grass type partners can also work in a capacity of an Electric Water Grass core as Grass types resist ground moves, and as such Sceptile, Tangrowth, Lilligant can pair well with them and set up against Ground types. Though a EWG core is needed for potential fire type Pokemon that will deal a lot of damage to Manectric and it's Grass type partner. While Flying types may seem viable, most Ground types do carry Rock type moves, so a non choice locked Ground attack user can be a pain for Flying types that try to pair with Manectric, so they aren't as viable as Water or Grass types for offensive synergy.

    ==Other Options==
    • Manual Rain Dance with Thunder over ThunderBolt is an option and can be used
    • Roar can be used against predictable Substitute/Set-up opponents
    • Access to Light Screen, Thunder Wave, and Toxic for team support
    • Magnet Rise can be used against Ground type Pokemon and protect you from dying in SE attack
    • It can run a lackluster Physical set, but it's outclassed to the special ones due to it's average attack.
    • Hidden Power Ice to hit Druddigon

    ==Checks & Counters==
    • Druddigon (Against all sets)
    • Claydol
    • Special Defensive (Bulk Up) Gallade
    • Fake Out Lee
    • Revenge Killed by pokemon that are faster than it such as Cinccino, Sceptile, Aerodactyl, as well as common Scarf Pokemon on non Choice Scarf sets.

    This is about as much as I think I'm able to really do with Manetric due to it's limited movepool, and the lack of pokemon that are able to effectively switch in on it's sets.

    Personally, I see more Manectric with Volt Switch over Switcheroo than Hidden Power, I suppose it's worth mentioning that the Dual STAB can be run over both of the later two spots.

    I think it's important to mention that Manectric locked into an attack is very easy to set-up as it isn't very strong and most of its attacks have immunities / bulky resists than can take advantage of free turns. Also, you should probably give some reasons to use it over Rotom-C (different coverage, better speed etc).

    Finally, I think Manetric could really use a synergy section since there is a good bit of usefulness in it's ability and Volt Switch

    K changed the bit on dual stab in the choice section towards the end. Added the bit on being choice lock being set up fodder for a switch in that resists or is immune to that section too, will reword better when I get to put on the wiki. There really isn't much to it over rotom-c than the speed. I mean they can run the same moves, just Rotom-C has Leaf Storm>HP Grass, while Manectric has Flamethrower + Overheat>HP fire, so really it's just a power coverage difference. I dunno if that is worth mentioning.

    Never really used Manectric, so I don't know it's best partners, but a combo of Water and Grass seemed the best route to go for a good chance of synergy for taking hits and fighting back. Tell me if I'm wrong on this one though since it's not a pokemon that has appealed to me.

    I disagree with how the Choice set looks. Thunderbolt does not deserve the main slash over Volt Switch, Volt Switch deserves the main slash.
