I started this thread to talk about things in the anime series or the games that are irritating and make no sense. I know that some of you will say: " Pokemon don't exist, why talking logically about something that doesn't exist", but hey that's just for fun c: I'll start with these: -Pidgey able to fly around a region with a 40 Kgs kid on it. -Wooper learning Ice Punch and Shroomish learning Focus Punch even though then have no hands.
Everything But also the fact that every villain team can be beaten by a kid with Pokémon simply because everyone apparently becomes powerless when their Pokémon faint.
Well, to be fair, you now have Pokemon and they don't, which would give you a pretty fucking big advantage in a fight
How do battles take place on water? I'd understand if you could only use water types, but you can use anything you want. Imagine that - go Graveller! Splosh.
Aside from the obvious, "Look a thin tree blocking my path! Getting by this thin tree is IMPOSSIBIRU," or "Look a small ledge blocking my path. Getting up this small ledge is IMPOSSIBIRU!!!" I've always wondered how Doduo and Dodrio Fly you around the world. Also, Pokedex fails: Shiftry - By flapping its leafy fan, it can whip up gusts of 100 ft/second that can level houses. >>>>>Doesn't get Hurricane. >>>>>Whimsicott gets Hurricane. Escavalier - They fly around at high speed, striking with their pointed spears. Even when in trouble, they face opponents bravely. >>>>>Base 20 Speed.
Yep that was the picture I was thinking off. Also, how come tiny Pokémon like Pidgey and Spearow can use Fly while Yanmega can't? Despite the fact that it is Flying type and one of its Pokedex entries mentions it being able to carry full grown adults on its back.
The Pokedex say Dragonite can fly the whole globe in 16 hours. It has 80 base speed. Grumpig also has 80 speed. Does that mean it can do the same? The Pokedex says that Pidgeot can fly at a speed of Mach 2. Guess what? MILTANK FASTER.
That an Escape Rope does not work like a real rope. For some reason it has magical powers, like Abra, to teleport you out of caves. Might I remind you that an Escape Rope...is a rope...and you can't rappel down cliffs with it but instead they want you to have to carry around an HM Slave Graveler and use Rock Climb.
Scyther have wings and can't fly, diglett can learn moves like scratch but he's have no hands, kangaskhan is born with a baby already and is said that cubone wears he's mother skull but what happens if the marowak had two babys
Then the other cubone wears the skull of his father(?, who is going to notice the difference after all...
"When it folds up its body and extends its wings, it looks like a jet plane. It flies at sonic speed." "It flies at speeds equal to a jet fighter plane. It never allows its prey to escape." "It is said that when one runs at high speed, its wings create blades of wind that can fell nearby trees." "Its body is covered in fine scales that reduce drag, enabling it to fly at high speeds." All of Garchomp's Pokédex entries. Garchomp can learn neither Fly nor Razor Wind. "A MAGIKARP living for many years can leap a mountain using Splash. The move remains useless, though." By the minimum definition of a mountain by UK standards (610m) a Magikarp has to generate 10940 newtons of force with its tail assuming it reached maximum velocity in 0.1 seconds (which is probably generous for a jump), a professional boxer punches at around 5200 newtons. That is merely to jump vertically 610 meters in the air, it's likely much more to actually go over a mountain. So with a force more than double a professional boxer at the absolute least (I even ignored gravity and friction for the final force calc and resistance for the accel calc), why is splash useless? Here's the calcs using my basic mechanics knowledge Spoiler
Emboar: It can throw a fire punch by setting its fists on fire with its fiery chin. Doesn't get Fire Punch. HGSS Mechanics: I have a freaking Rayquaza behind me and Joey and his "top percentage" Rat continue challenging me to battles. Chesnaught: Its Tackle is forceful enough to flip a 50-ton tank. It shields its allies from danger with its own body. 252+ Atk Chesnaught Tackle vs. 252 HP/252+ Def Leftovers Shuckle: 10 - 12 (4.1 - 4.9%) -- this might take a while... after Leftovers... And I don't consider Shuckle (45.2 lbs) a "50-ton tank" Magcargo's body temperature is approximately 18,000 degrees Fahrenheit... At least it's not 10,000 Celsius like it used to be... Oh, and if you're standing 500 feet away from Magcargo, your blood would boil. Just a thought. Meowstic: When in danger, it raises its ears and releases enough psychic power to grind a 10-ton truck into dust. First of all, this is 2'0" Meowstic were talking about. Secondly, do I need to post another Shuckle calc? 252+ SpAtk Meowstic Psychic vs. 252 HP/252+ SpDef Leftovers Shuckle: 46 - 55 (18.9 - 22.5%) -- 0.5% chance to 6HKO, 99.7% chance to 7HKO after Leftovers >>>>>>>> Grind into dust. AND SHUCKLE IS STILL 45 LBS!!!!! On a more ridiculous note, the Firered Pokedex has something against Indian elephants. Raichu: Its electric charges can reach even 100,000 volts. Careless contact can cause even an Indian elephant to faint. Gastly:A being that exists as a thin gas. It can topple an Indian elephant by enveloping the prey in two seconds. Credit to Hi-Ho-Diddly-Do of the GameFAQs Forum. Ryhorn (Leafgreen): Its massive bones are 1,000 times harder than human bones. Its TACKLE can knock a semitrailer flying. See Chesnaught above. Larvitar (Crystal): Born deep underground, this Pokémon becomes a pupa after eating enough dirt to make a "mountain." The world would have a lot fewer mountains if every Pupatar had eaten one. Ponyta (Leafgreen): Its hooves are ten times harder than diamond. It can trample anything completely flat in little time. Since the comparison here is to diamond, Ill use Diancie for the calcs here. 252+ Atk Eviolite Ponyta Stomp vs. 4 HP/252+ Def Leftovers Diancie: 16 - 19 (6.6 - 7.9%) -- this might take a while... after Leftovers Goodra: It throws a punch that's the equivalent of the force of a hundred pro boxers. Hitmonchan's base Atk is higher... Im done for now
How OK the mom is with you just leaving because you have a Pokemon with you, especially considering there's no father really mentioned (excluding RSE+ORAS) in the family to look out for you on the road. When you turn off the game, does your trainer go sleep somewhere and return to that spot when you start booting the game up? Otherwise it's like you're never sleeping and that creates problems. There's no Dark gym yet.
1. Nobody ever minds player entering there house without permission and looting there dustbin for berries. 2. Fainted pokemon being able to cut trees, smash boulder and fly with a kid on its back.
Pokedollars are probably more analogous to yen than USD, which would make the lemonade cost between 70 and 75 cents US using the exchange rates from 1996.
