Hello there everyone! With the 6th generation around the corner I thought it'd be ideal if we had a more updated guide for Pokemon Online. So I decided to make one to help out newer users get more familiar with the simulator.

    Getting Started

First off, once you launch the game you'll be greeted by the start menu as seen below.

My client has a custom theme which I'll be using throughout the guide. To get your own theme for your client, go here.

To begin, just click the "Go online" button and it'll direct you to the Server List.

You can pick a server you can connect to, there are many different servers around that support different languages, but for now we're going for the default server of Pokemon Online.

    Teambuilder

Once you've logged in with your name, you enter the main chat of #Tohjo Falls. All players default to this channel hence it being the most populated. To jump into battling, you must first build a team with the Teambuilder on the client

It is located by pressing Ctrl + O or going to File -> Open Teambuilder

After that, the teambuilder should open up.

Fill in the details you want for your trainer trainer information then click "Save Profile" to keep around for future use.

Once you've done that, click one of the missingnos to begin the teambuilding process!

You can start out by picking some Pokemon, try mixing and matching some Pokemons and build the best team around, but for now we'll go with everyone's favorite.

After you've picked your Pokemon, you can input their effort values, natures, items and movesets! This is where the competitive atmosphere of Pokemon begins. You can build your own special sets, or even use some detailed ones from our Pokemon Online Wiki

There are numerous possibilities and Pokemon combination so good luck exploring them!

Once you've completed your teambuilding, go back to the trainer home and take a glimpse of your overall profile and team. Name your team and save everything up by pressing Ctrl + S or going File -> Save All.

You may minimize or close your teambuilder from now and get back to the main client.

    Battling!

Load up your team by pressing Ctrl + L or going File -> Load Team which will prompt you with the load team screen. You can have a maximum of 6 teams loaded a time to play different tiers at a time.

After you've loaded your team, just pick a tier you want to play in. Picking more popular tiers are recommended but it's up to you if you want to explore lower generations or even play in our side metagames! For the list of tiers PO has, just click Tiers on the toolbar and check them out. Tier list for the 5th gen!

Now for the most important part to get started on battling is to USE THE FIND BATTLE BUTTON!

After a bit, a battle should pop up depending on how active the tier you are in, so ready up!

Good luck and Have fun! :3

There are many different other things you can do on Pokemon Online like playing in the #Trivia and #Mafia channels, as well as participating in tournaments in the #Tournaments channel!
