Introduction: This team was created shortly after my arrival here at PO, it was made basically because I got sick and tired of only playing OU. As you will see shortly, the team consists of very UU standard pokemon with some very unorthodox movesets and/or EV spreads. Anyway, this team brought me a huge amount of success in UU, easily earning me not one, not two, but three spots on the top 40 of the UU ladder at one time (As of now, only one of the accounts remains in the top 40, but the other two are still in the top 80). This team has also won 16 UU tours in the past, all due to the unorthodox nature of my movesets and/or EV spreads. Now, without further adieu, the team: At a Glance: Under the Microscope: Pokemon: Uxie Item: Leftovers Ability: Levitate Nature: Jolly EVs: 252 HP / 40 Def / 40 SpD / 176 Spe Moveset: Zen Headbutt U-turn Stealth Rock Heal Bell Why This Pokemon? This Uxie is specifically designed for this team, every single aspect of it, down to the last EV has been carefully thought outin order to patch up some weaknesses this team had while still working exceedingly well as a lead. As we all know, Uxie has always been one of the better UU leads out there, being bulky as hell and setting up Stealth Rock almost every single game. This Uxie chooses to relinquish some of its bulk in order to be able to check some of the metagame's top threats, and proceed to kill them with Zen Headbutt; namely, Blaziken, Venusaur, Toxicroak, Heracross, and Nidoking. Although he loses some of hit bulk, he still takes hits like a fucking champion and has the greatest utility of any member of the team. Zen Headbutt is there to act as reliable STAB and to hit the aforementioned threats. U-turn is there go evade any fast Taunts early in the game and to heavily damage Alakazam and other frail pokemon. Stealth Rock is Stealth Rock, 'nuff said there. Finally, we have Heal Bell, well due to status moves being so damn prevalent in UU, I decided that Heal Bell was a great addition to the team, and indeed it was. Pokemon: Venusaur Item: Black Sludge Ability: Overgrow Nature: Timid EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe Moveset: Leaf Storm Sludge Bomb Sleep Powder Synthesis Why This Pokemon? Venusaur is just pro as hell, there's really not much so say here. This Venusaur is designed to use his Black Sludge to semi-disguise itself as a slow support pokemon upon switching in, and proceed to rape face with his awesome speed and power. Sludge Bomb is his reliable STAB move which hits everything it can, Leaf Storm is there to rape Milotic and other bulky waters, and for when we need that extra kick in power to kill something. Sleep Powder is just good, and Synthesis is there so Venusaur can take advantage of its natural bulk and recover in the face of most water types. Pokemon: Hitmontop Item: Life Orb Ability: Technician Nature: Adamant EVs: 248 HP / 248 Atk / 12 Spe Moveset: Close Combat Mach Punch Fake Out Bullet Punch Why This Pokemon? Technitop is a fucking monster and this team would be shit without him. Seriously, due to my lacking a Choice Scarfer the priority this guy provides is seriously indispensable. Without him I would get decimated by Alakazam, Mismagius, Swellow, and Sceptile. Besides that, he also is my primary answer to the ever-annoying special walls of UU, aka: Chancey, Clefable, and Registeel. Close Combat is there for reliable STAB and for slow bulky opponents such as the aforementioned special walls. The rest of the moves are basically used to revenge kill every threat in UU. I really wish Bullet Punch was stronger so it could 2HKO Mismagius 100% of the time, but whatever, it's good enough. EVs are simple enough, 12 speed to beat all other Hitmontop, and the rest get split evenly among HP and Atk for a good mix of bulk and power. Pokemon: Arcanine Item: Leftovers Ability: Intimidate Nature: Hasty EVs: 80 Atk / 252 SpA / 176 Spe Moveset: Fire Blast Hidden Power [Grass] ExtremeSpeed Morning Sun Why This Pokemon? Another one of my beautiful creations, MixCanine (I'm obviously not the first one to use one, but at least its not on Smogon yet, so ha!). Seriously though, this guy is a beast. No one ever expects a specially based arcanine, so I'm constantly getting switch-ins like Donphan who are 1-2HKO'd by Fire Blast and Rhyperior, who is OHKO'd by Hidden Power. He also does a good job at switching into Will-O-Wisps, even without Flash Fire, he still does a ton to the most common user of it, Spiritomb. His moves are designed to provide me with okay coverage and a ton of surprise value. Fire Blast is obviously for reliable STAB (Fun Fact: it always 2HKOs Registeel), Hidden Power is for coverage and ExtremeSpeed is there for Alakazam and other frail shit like Swellow. Finally, Morning Sun is there to take advantage of his natural bulk and Intimidate, which he does exceedingly well. His EVs are designed to outrun all base speed 85ers, namely Heracross and Toxicroak, so that he can act as a nice check to them. Pokemon: Mismagius Item: Leftovers Ability: Levitate Nature: Timid EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 Spe Moveset: Shadow Ball Taunt Will-O-Wisp Pain Split Why This Pokemon? Weeeee, another one of my creations. Well, Smogon just uploaded a very similar set, but whatever, most people know I was using this for a long long time before that happened. This thing is truly my fucking MVP, the stallbreaker to end all stallbreakers, the proest fucking pokemon on this damn team. What does it do? It's really hard to explain, so I'm just gonna say "it supports the team and breaks the shit out of stall." Anyways, EVs are to outrun max speed Timid Rotom, and to maximize its bulk. Shadow Ball is there to act as reliable STAB while the rest of the moves are just for team support. Will-O-Wisp has shitty accuracy, but Mismagius can usually take that extra hit so it's fine. Taunt is just pro as hell, stops all set up in its tracks, and Pain Split is there to act as semi-reliable recovery to take advantage if its artificial bulk. Pokemon: Milotic Item: Leftovers Ability: Marvel Scale Nature: Modest EVs: 152 HP / 80 Def / 216 SpA / 60 Spe Moveset: Surf Ice Beam Hidden Power [Grass] Recover Why This Pokemon? As much as i would love to be able to take credit for the creation of this set, I can't. I basically took Smogon's 'LO Tank' set and moved 4 EVs from SpA to Spe (to beat other LO Tank Milotic) and used Surf over Hydro Pump because the total damage difference is not that great once accuracy gets taken into account. The moves should be obvious, Surf is there for reliable STAB, Ice Beam and Hidden Power are there for coverage. Recover takes advantage of her tremendous bulk and allows me to heal off residual damage and whatnot. The EV's are just for a mix of power accuracy and bulk, not much to say, really. As this is the Team Archive, please post an exportable version of your team in a secret tab. Other than that, I love this team, as I have said in the past.
