Intro: So, with school starting up, and X and Y coming out soon, I feel like taking a break from the Pokémon’s for a while (waiting desperately for Sudowoodo evolution and MegaScrafty). I’ve always wanted to make a post explaining my favorite/only team, with which I can get in the top 100 consistently, and peaked at #7 in the PO Wifi OU ladder (with around 1510 points, after the ladder reset with the Deoxys-D/Tornadus-T ban), and have gotten an 18 game win streak and around 2700+ pts on Showdown right before I left for my summer internship with the federal government (good luck playing on their computers :[ )*. It started as a joke team, but over time, I found that it was capable of getting wins, and it was a hell of a lot of fun to play, so I started tweaking it here and there until I have it to where it’s perfect (for me and my play-style, at least). *I have nothing to prove, so if you don’t believe any of what I just said, then don’t. **Edit: Won the last 5th Gen Forum Challenge, and got to #1 on ladder Spoiler [/HIDE] Team at a Glance Importable Spoiler Ninetales @ Leftovers Trait: Drought EVs: 248 HP / 4 SAtk / 148 SDef / 108 Spd Calm Nature - Sunny Day - Flamethrower - Will-O-Wisp - Roar Forretress @ Leftovers Trait: Sturdy EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def Relaxed Nature IVs: 0 Spd - Spikes - Rapid Spin - Gyro Ball - Volt Switch Chandelure @ Choice Scarf Trait: Flash Fire EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Modest Nature - Fire Blast - Shadow Ball - Flamethrower - Hidden Power [Fighting] Whimsicott @ Life Orb Trait: Chlorophyll EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk Modest Nature - Growth - Giga Drain - Hidden Power [Fire] - Shadow Ball Mamoswine @ Focus Sash Trait: Thick Fat EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Jolly Nature - Icicle Spear - Earthquake - Ice Shard - Stealth Rock Darmanitan @ Life Orb Trait: Sheer Force EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Adamant Nature - Flare Blitz - Superpower - Rock Slide - Bulldoze [/HIDE] Spoiler Mentality Behind Building the Team (skippable): Spoiler I play video games as a way to chill out, and I play games on a competitive level to try and express myself through the way I play. I play Pokemon, both the actual games and competitively, because I like the designs of the monsters themselves, and how different they all are. I love the novelty that comes with all the customization you can do as far as making sets go. My favorite tier to play is Little Cup UU, and probably always will be, but when I got bored with waiting for/finding matches, I decided to make a team for standard play. When I make any team, I try to have it as balanced/diverse as possible, meaning only having one of each type on any given team, just like I do in the games. I eventually gave up on my weatherless team (sorry Scrafty) since you have to run big, common threats to compete with weather, and went with sun. I still tried to run Pokemon that I liked, as well as kept some balance, and ended up with a team that is not only effective and fun on a competitive level, but one that I could see myself using in-game (with maybe one or two substitutions). …sorry about the all needless ranting.[/HIDE] Team-Building: Spoiler So, I wanted to make a team to KO things with Whimsicott. I love its design, and I thought it would be a fun project to make a team around a set that doesn’t involve Prankster SubSeeding. I never used weather before so my first inclination was to go rain since it seemed the best weather condition and Whimsicott has access to Hurricane, but it wasn’t really doing anything besides an occasional KO on Breloom. After finding out that it got Chlorophyll and Growth (*face-palm), I knew what I had to do… I love Chandelure, and used it with Whimsicott on my very first team. Sun teams can get destroyed by Fire-type attacks, and Heatran is such a stupid, standard Pokemon, I had to at least try Chandelure. Specs Chandelure was one of the strongest in the game, but since I would now be getting a boost from the Sun, I decided to go Scarf. My team was looking a little weak, and weak to hazards, so I decided to add Forretress, for Rapid Spin, and for my own hazards to help with the offense. It also has some great synergy with Chandelure, as Chandelure can spin-block, as well as gets boosts from Fire-Type attacks. Now my team was looking pretty frail, and not all that powerful. So, I decided to go with Banded Dragonite, which brings a whole butt-ton of power, and some defensive synergy (especially with Multiscale). Mamoswine fit into my team perfectly. Not only does it give me some much needed power, but it also gives my team a Stealth Rocks user to free up Spikes for Chandelure. It gives me something to use against Sand teams, as well as check things like Dragons and the Kami trio. [/hide] In-Depth Look: Ammy (Ninetales) (F)@ Leftovers Trait: Drought EVs: 252 HP / 148 SDef / 108 Spd (0 Atk IVs) Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Sunny Day - Flamethrower - Will-O-Wisp - Roar Cuteness: 7/10 Both the most essential and most unnecessary member of my team, Ninetales serves as my weather inducer and special wall. It has no real purpose but to set up the sun, burn things, absorb status, take hits from Politoeds, and Roar away some set-up sweepers. It has max HP and almost max SDef since I needed something to take random special hits, but for the most part, there’s a lot of switching involved with this team. The speed is for Timid Nature Politoed. It also outspeeds all Breloom. FMO (Forretress) (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Sturdy EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef (0 Spd IVs) Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd) - Spikes - Rapid Spin - Gyro Ball - Volt Switch Cuteness: 7.5/10 (only because of the name) Forretress is nothing but utility. This team gets absolutely wrecked by hazards, especially Stealth Rocks. It also serves as a decent physical wall, and is pretty much my only answer to Kyurem-B. Spikes help in wearing down other weather inducers, as well as the bane of my sun team’s existence, Heatran. Gyro Ball is needed for Outraging dragons, Terrakion, Kyurem-B, etc, while Volt Switch is for momentum. Mabel SMASH (Whimsicott) (F) @ Life Orb Trait: Chlorophyll EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk (2 Atk IVs) Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Growth - Giga Drain - Hidden Power [Fire] - Shadow Ball Cuteness: 15/10 (Just look at it) Now, on to the most interesting member of the team: offensive Whimsicott, the heart of my team. In B1/W1, I used to run this thing with Prankster Encore and Stun Spore, with Giga Drain and HP Fire, and it put in a good bit of work, especially since Excadrill and Blaziken were things back in the beginning. When I decided to finally embrace weather after a bit of a break from Pokémon, I immediately went with this thing with Drought Tales because I thought it would be fun to try and sweep with an offensive Whimsicott. It didn’t even occur to me how much potential this set had. I could (and probably should) write a whole article about offensive Whimsicott, but here’s a whole bunch of calcs to prove it can work instead. Growth gives it the power it needs, Giga Drain gives it a stab attack, and lets it beat Pokes like Alakazam and Keldeo one-on-one. HP Fire is STAB in the sun, and can get those surprise kills, and Shadow Ball is for coverage. Prof. Bunsen (Chandelure) (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Flash Fire EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Fire Blast - Shadow Ball - Flamethrower - Hidden Power [Fighting] Cuteness: 11/10 (I love everything about its design) If Whimsicott is the heart of my team, then Chandelure is the soul. I feel like all sun-teams need a Flash Fire user to take sun-boosted fire attacks, and I’ll take Chandelure over the overrated, ugly Heatran any day of the week. Unlike Whimsicott, scarf Chandelure is a lot more standard and recognizable; however it still doesn’t get the usage I think it deserves in the OU tier. On top of the power it has (base 145), especially with sun-boosted Fire attacks, it also has a bit of surprise factor since it’s scarfed (387 Spd). It out-speeds Non-Choiced Starmie, Latios/Latias, Dugtrio, Alakazam, Gengar, making it an effective surprise/revenge killer. It’s also my spin-blocker, as I do have Spikes and Stealth Rocks users, and can take out Starmie or force out Forretress/Donphan. As far as sets go, it’s pretty standard fare. Fire Blast for power, with Flamethrower to avoid missing/pp stalling. Shadow Ball for another STAB attack for things like Latios/Latias and Jellicent. HP Fighting is needed for the predictable Tyranitar and Heatran switch-ins. Sr. Snuffly (Mamoswine) (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Thick Fat EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)- Icicle Spear - Earthquake - Ice Shard - Stealth Rocks Cuteness: 9.5/10 (the fluffiness!) While I love Adamant Life Orb Mamoswine, as it's probably my favorite Poke to battle with (I loves the Ice move/Earthquake 50/50 threat), it didn't really make sense on this team. With a Focus Sash and Jolly nature, Mamoswine, whom I lead off with 99% of the time, contributes a lot more to this team in a more Utility-role than as another sweeper. With this set, I can set-up Stealth Rocks more reliably, take on max Speed Heatran (a must!), and no longer have to worry too much about scrubs leading off with Sash Breloom. It can also take on Choice-d Latios/Latias if they decide to attack, and its also great for SubCM Latias and SubToxic Gliscor. Most obviously though, is its ability to reliably counter to Dragon-types like Salamence and Dragonite that would otherwise shred through my team. Azura (Darmanitan) (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Sheer Force EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)- Flare Blitz - Superpower - Rock Slide - Bulldoze Cuteness:10/10 This used to be CB Dragonite, but after using this thing in a forum challenge, I can't go back. LO Darmanitan is the best wall-breaker in the game, hands down. A Flare Blitz from this thing 2HKO's basically everything in the Pokedex when in the sun. It's also a great way to get rid of Heatran, which is a huge problem for most of my team, as long as I can successfully bluff a Choice Scarf (users tend not to know much about this underused threat). While Darmanitan isn't much of a sweeper by any means, it almost always puts in work. I also absolutely love the design. Threat List: Spoiler Heatran: I know the team looks like it has issues with Heatran, but it usually isn't too big a deal. Darmanitan usually destroys something with a Flare Blitz, then destroys Heatran after it comes in thinking it's choice-locked. Hazards also wears it down. Latios: I can take any specs attack with Ninetales, try for a burn, and then switch. It's actually not bad set-up fodder for Mabel or even FMO's Spikes. Mamoswine is my main answer though. Latias: Ninetales is a decent answer. Offensive Latias gets burned, and then I make a switch, and SubCM variants get roared away, or Icicle Speared. Hydreigon: I don't see these very much, but when I do, the plays I have to make are usually pretty situational. Trick Room: Make stupid switches until the nightmare is over. Trick Room is a pretty terrible match-up for my team though, as I don't have anything slow/bulky besides FMO. Mamoswine: Again, make stupid switches (Dnite on a predicted EQ, Boonsen on a predicted Ice Shard). FMO can also be an answer, but if the opposition has a bunch of dragons, especially Kyurem-B, then the risk is necessary Kyurem-B: Ugh. I just try and keep FMO around in case it's scarfed, but I do have hazards on this team which can do a bit of work on it, and then Mabel can possibly kill it at +2. Also, Boonsen is a pretty decent revenge killer. Choice-Politoed: Don't risk Ammy thinking you can just Sunny Day. If my opponent doesn't lead with Toed, then I always assume Scarf. Once you figure out the set, it's pretty easy to play around. SpecsToed is a bit harder, but not very common anymore. Tyranitar: All my physical Pokes can check it, and I have HP Fighting on Boonsen just for it. If I get hazards up, the fight usually isn't too hard. I almost always switch out of FMO into Snuffles, fearing a Fire-attack. [/HIDE] It may seem a bit gimmicky or trollish at first glance, but it is more than capable of getting wins without hax or with the opponent knowing the sets (if the opponent knows the sets, you can actually use that to your advantage for some funny results). It’s not just a bunch of hipster BS. People see it as a trollish team, but I think it’s more than solid, and I personally have way too much fun using it, as I get to use some of my favorite Pokemon effectively. If you ever want to play 5th gen, and want to use some of the most powerful attackers in the tier, as well as the cutest sweeper ever, this is it. *Edit: I don't care about suggestions anymore. I'm over 5th gen since getting to #1, and will be moving on to 6th gen after I re-download PO. PS: Apologies for not saving replays, but the best ones have too much profanity to post anyways : ]
I think you need an importable, then gratz for the peaks etc... Venusaur>Whimsicott .-. it seems pretty obv at least to me The only thing Whimsicott has over Venusaur is surprise factor that vanishes when you use Growth, since HP Fire could be used etc... Venusaur can get the same stats while having extra points avaible On a generic note your team doesn't like Rocks, Forretress cannot kill things like Jellicent and Heatran walls 4 of your pokes, you could use HP Ground on something like Chandelure Imo More bulk on Dnite would be cool, so a Jolly Nature on Mamoswine too
So little rates... HP Ground > HP Fighting & Agreed You seem fond of Whimsicott but Saur is better. If you still want something unique try Victreebel. It has Weather Ball and... Weather Ball in sun > HP Fire. Laterz.
....Yeah, so apparently cute-themed teams aren't popular here in the standard tier. I'm also thinking I should've included my peak in the title, even if I got it right after the ladder reset. Anyways, I got bored and started laddering with this team again, and made some changes, partly based on the feedback. Jolly Mamoswine is such a "duh." I don't know how I've been getting by without it. I don't see why Dnite needs bulk, but I did replace EQ with Superpower for things like balloonTran and Chansey/Blissey. I know the team doesn't like Hazards. I hate having to play around things like Custap Skarm and other things, but Forretress with Volt Switch can kind of deal. Also, there's no reason to change HP ground to HP fighting. Chandelure is great bait for Tyranitar, and it can 2HKO it if there's no Chople berry, and can probably 2HKO even with Chople if I have hazards up. It can also break Heatran's balloon, and do some OK damage to things like Skarmory. And I know Whimsicott isn't a very standard sweeper on a sun team, but I really do believe in it. If I get hazards up, there's not much besides Heatran or Dragon/Flying types that can stop it. The surprise factor is great too, as I can potentially get a nice kill/major damage on Rotom-Ws, Gengars, Ferro/Forry's, Scizors, etc. It can open up holes that my other attackers that can exploit very well. Also, this is a Cute-themed team I made that just happened to yield victories. I'm going to add a "Teambuilding" section to also show that I built the team around this custom Whimsicott set. I do realize that I'm super attached to this set, especially since I came up with it and seem to be the only one utilizing it, but I think that's also the reason you guy might be a little skeptical. I'm considering recording a session using it some time before X and Y come out, and if I have time and I get some kind of response, I'll at least try. If anything, the reactions I get when I'm higher up in the ladder are pretty funny.
Venusaur is an arguably better chlorophyll user (Whimsicott should just go back to subseeding and being a troll with Prankster tbh, seeing that Venusaur does get Sleep Powder which is one of the boons Venusaur have over Whimsicott.) Also you might also want to try Trick on Chandelure so that it can be more of a teamplayer and cripple certain threats with Trick (such as the pink blobs) and definitely HP ground>Fighting due to it being able to hit Heatran harder, which is one of the stumbling blocks for sun teams.
*sighs deeply I'm assuming you haven't read my reply to all the other rates. Again, Whimsicott is good(ish) as a Chlorophyll sweeper, and I hate stall. I built the team to sweep with her. That's that. HP Fighting is too useful on Tyranitar. Heatran I can play around, I have enough experience with that. Ninetales can either come in and roar, or I can make some switches to try and threaten it out with Mamo or Dnite. Honestly, if I get hazards up, and hit it once with HP Fighting, it's usually weak enough that a Shadow Ball, an HP Fighting, or a couple ESpeeds or Outrage can kill. It's a pretty common scenario I see a lot. Ttar is too big a threat (I'm forced to switch in Forry, then Mamo to predict a Fire attack)to my team to not run HP Fighting, and it's often way more beneficial to my team to take it out rather than Heatran. If you don't trust me on the Whimsiness, at least trust me on the HP Fighting > HP Ground debate. I hope this better clarifies some of my previously stated points. As for Trick, I've considered it, or maybe using Energy Ball, but I like having Dual Stab + HP Fighting. I hate using moves with questionable accuracy, and under the Sun, with 145 base SpAtk, modest, Flamethrower can be enough to sweep or get a revenge kill. I like having the extra PP and reliability, and rely on it. The only reason I use Fire Blast is for when I feel like being a big-boy and blasting something with fire, as well as needing something to OHKO pokes like Machamp and Conkeldurr. Also...252 SpAtk Chandelure (+SpAtk) Fire Blast vs 252 HP/252 SpDef Blissey (+SpDef) : 28.71% - 34.03% (4-5 hits to KO). With hazards (that are usually up if there's a Blissey being used), this can handle the pink blobs as they get worn down by my team.
You mean no reason to change HP fight to HP ground... To be fair he/she replied to the thread 8 minutes after you responded to everyone. She could be typing while you were. More useless crap from me... Are you saying Venusaur isn't cute? :'( To make my reply somewhat helpful (not), Dnite should have max HP since base 80 speed won't be out speeding too much, invested or not. Also, Forry can spin those SR away, so you can take advantage of Multiscale + bulk. You should mostly be using ExtremeSpeed anyway, so extra speed isn't really necessary. You r welcome.
You know what else is a cute and quick and unexpected but viable chlorophyll user, if you're desparate to go both unexpected and cute? Jumpluff. Just a recommend as anoption not called venusaur over whimsicott.
I run max speed to out speed some Heatrans, Politoeds, Scizors, other Dnites, etc. On a related note, I might start trying out Sawsbuck as a possible replacement, as a Sawsbuck can make better use of the holes Whimsicott's surprise factor opens up. The only thing I would lose are safer answers to Keldeo and other Dnites. Venusaur looks kinda lumpy...and it really is no contest up against Whimsicott in my humble opinion. As for Jumpluff... 1.) Jumpluff has to rely on inaccurate Sleep Powder 2.) It doesn't have the surprise factor or offensive tools that Whimsicott packs 3.) Again, this team was built around Whimsicott. Jumpluff is completely different and would require a completely different team to be built around it. PS: I added a "Team-building" section, right after the "Mentality" section. There's also a threat-list now.
Agreeing with Draconinja on Venusaur. The set I'd use is: Sludge Bomb / Hidden Power Fire / Growth / Sludge Bomb It'll work well with your hazards. Cool team, liking the sun + hazards.
Scizor will most likely always use Bullet Punch on Dnite. Politoed can be handled by Ninetails, more so if you run Solar Beam/Energy Ball over Sunny Day/Roar. Dnite is killed by Mamoswine but is still a nuisance. Heatran is honestly a big problem if Dnite dies (if it has an Air Balloon). Have u considered a physically defensive Volcorana? It may seem odd, considering it's x4 SR weakness, but Forry can spin the rocks away. It checks Heatran sort of and is an excellent sweeper even without EV investment. Don't know what to replace though. Spoiler Volcarona @ Lum Berry Trait: Flame Body EVs: 128 HP / 142 Def / 96 SpA / 144 Spe Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk) - Quiver Dance - Fiery Dance - Morning Sun - Bug Buzz / HP Ground / HP Fighting Or Spoiler Volcarona @ Leftovers Trait: Flame Body EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Quiver Dance - Fiery Dance - Bug Buzz / HP Ground / HP Fighting - Morning Sun
Okay, so I'll be trying out max HP Dnite. Thanks! I also put a focus sash on Mamoswine to help kill special attacking dragons, so I can put up Stealth Rocks easier.
I recently re-downloaded PO because I wanted to join the Legends will fall challenge. Since Dnite was the Poke that I've already been subbing in and out, and it was the only thing that's not permitted, I've been using this team. Also, I flipping love this team...and it's the only one I've gotten over 1500 with. I put in CB Scizor to deal with the Lati twins, but then I would almost have to forfeit every time I made one wrong move against a Heatran. I've recently tried Conkeldurr, but now I'm leaning between Breloom and Darmanitan (I loves Darmanitan). If anyone wants to suggest anything that isn't a legendary-mon/pseudo-legendary-mon, I'm open to suggestions for a sub for Dnite. A good replacement... Spoiler MUST be able to hit Blissey/Chansey hard MUST be able to take on a Rain Dance Kingdra (basically, I want a strong priority user) PREFERABLY can deal damage/take a hit from Politoed/Heatran PREFERABLY can benefit from Steel-types like Scizor or Ferrothorn getting KO'd by the whimsiness (I like spamming priority end-game) PREFERABLY can deal damage to things like Volcarona, Reuniclus, and Dragon-types [/HIDE] No suggestions will be considered when it comes to the other members of my team. That goes quadruple for the heart(Whimsicott) and soul(Chandelure) of my team.
Latios's Draco Meteor can destroy your team because you hav nothing to take a DM hit, even Forre got 2hko Tyranitar can check your team too because i've seen lots of Tyran use the set Crunch/Pursuit+Fire Blast+ Ice Beam+ SR Chandelure can't beat Spdef Tyran in sand with that weak hp fighting i think you should you either Mamo or Nite, and Replace it with a steel type or something can tank DM i used to hav Bliss in my sun team and it's really fun :)
Thanks for the suggestion! All special Dragon-types are huge threats to my team. For some reason, a lot of players see that Specs Latios/Hydreigon decimate my team, so they lead off with it, and my lead, Sashed Mamoswine, can get them out early. If they're smart, I usually have to rely on a surprise kill with Whimsicott or Chandelure. As for SpDef Tyranitar, even though it still gives me problems, it can't switch into an HP Fighting. The way I play Chandy against teams with TTar, I usually don't end up KOing Pokemon so that TTar can revenge kill, and more often then not, I'm hitting Tyranitar with a STRONG (426 SAtk, 4x super effective) HP Fighting. In fact, I think Chandelure is what usually takes out Tyrantars (burn damage from Ninetales' WoW and hazard damage do it too). 252 SpAtk Chandelure (+SpAtk) Hidden Power Fighting vs 252 HP/252 SpDef Tyranitar: 48.51% - 57.43% (2-3 hits to KO) I've thought about subbing Blissey in for Dnite, but I need a strong physical attacker to get off damage/KOs on things like Volc, Chansey/Blissey, etc. I tried out CB Scizor, but I wasn't really feeling it. I've been using Life Orb Darmanitan for the time being, as Flare Blitz under the Sun just decimates things, and it's great Heatran bait. I also love the design, which is why I've been using it instead of more sensible options like Scizor and Breloom. Spoiler Azura (Darmanitan) @ Life Orb Trait: Sheer Force EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Adamant Nature - Flare Blitz - Superpower - Rock Slide - U-turn Dragonite is a lot better for this team though, as I need something to take hits from Specs Politoed. It also has great synergy with Whimsicott, as the Whimsiness can remove a lot of Dnite counters. The only reason Darmanitan is on the team for now is that I'm using this team for the forum challenge. I don't know how, but I have 1520 points on the challenger alt, which is the most I've ever had (I've peaked higher though).
of course scizor is not suited for sun team, since its huge weakness to fire will be more worrying :v haha its true that 9tales is stupid besides of getting sun up. I love sun team a lot, but wonder why nintendo would waste such a great ability to a stupid one like that :) nad, if they see mamo in your team, and know that you're a good player, they'll probably use something that can kill mamo right away, such as dugtrio (i guess) anyway love ur Whimsicott :) being the fastest unboosted one in sun :)
Scizor was for specs Latios. And priority BP. I was thinking about trying the scarf variant, but I hit 1545 on my forum challenger alt, so I'm pretty much done. Darmanitan gets it done. Nothing kills sashed Mamo right away. Also, nobody sends in Dugtrio on a Mamoswine, especially if they see I have a Chandelure/Ninetales. Mamo also breaks its sash. My Whimsicott doesn't actually outspeed Timid Venusaur, since I run exactly 0 Speed EVs. However, Timid Venusaur isn't much of a problem since I have Mamoswine, Chandelure, and Ninetales. Also, Whimsicott can take a hit and get off nice damage with HP Fire. GameFreak is giving us Drought MegaCharizard, and if that's the only other one we get, Sun is going to be kind of boned next gen. There is a chance Whimsicott gets retconned to Fairy-type though, which would make an offensive set more than viable.
i've never seen a scizor in a sun team before, since there're many pkms are more benefical in sun than scizor but wait, why 0 speed Ivs on whimsicott??? hehe char is strong but its stupid 4x weakness to sr could be a problem, even though i love char i like your opinion bout whimsicott being a fairy type next gen :)) could deal with latios's DM :))
I now leave the 5th generation as #1 on the ladder. I still feel like it counts since it's been under a month since 6th gen came out. I also firmly believe that this is the team with the most flair (and flare, shout-outs to Lysandre) to have ever peaked at the top of the ladder, what with original/semi-original sets, and the use of two UU 'mons and a NEU. Peace
Right? I got to 1600 before the ladder reset, and then after the reset and mass exodus of the tier, I figured I'd ladder to the top. I love this team, especially with Darmanitan now in it, and really wanted to get this "achievement," just because I probably won't be able to make a viable theme-team in XY (in OU at least). I just wanted to leave 5th gen on a high note, and be able to say that this team peaked at #1, so I can feel like a champion. Which I do. (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑
