The pride of the South West

    Welcome to the South West!
    [IMG][IMG]

Meet the children of these parts:
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Now for a more in depth look:

    Lead:
Carys (Phanpy) (F) @ Oran Berry
    Trait: Pickup
    EVs: 196 HP / 196 Atk / 116 Def
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Stealth Rock
    - Earthquake
    - Head Smash
    - Ice Shard

Phanpy's primary purpose is to set up rocks and maybe sponge some physical hits later. Head smash scores OHKO on Gastly along with a few others EQ can't hit, Ice Shard is to hurt Gligar notably with the 4x Super Effective damage making a 160 power move, even the mighty flying scorpion can't ignore that from Phanpy's respectable attack stat. The resistances provided by a ground typing are something that shouldn't be underestimated. Phanpy can serve as a reasonable stop to physical Elekid due to Ice Punch failing to score a KO by a significant margin.

    Special Sponge:
Moses (Munchlax) (M) @ Oran Berry
    Trait: Thick Fat
    EVs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 SDef
    Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
    - Fire Punch
    - Frustration
    - Pursuit
    - Earthquake

Munchlax is mostly for sponging special hits and hitting hard right back, serving as my counter for Gastly, Drifloon, Chinchou and Staryu it is a in invaluable team member. It can also sponge hits from some weaker physical attackers thanks to its astronomical HP stat and with its 19 attack can dent pretty much anything LC can throw at it with the appropriate move. Munchlax does fear Duskull since it can Will-O-Wisp before Munchlax can attack it and proceed to wear it down with Return.

    Revenge Killer:
Glen (Mankey) (M) @ Choice Scarf
    Trait: Vital Spirit
    EVs: 116 HP / 196 Atk / 196 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Close Combat
    - Ice Punch
    - U-turn
    - Payback

Revenger, I find its superior speed to be more useful than the sheer power provided by Machop, his sky-high speed thanks to Scarf allows him to serve as an all purpose revenge killer for fast Pokémon such as Gligar, Staryu and Elekid as well as being able to revenge kill other scarfers such as Cranidos and a weakened Machop. U-Turn is one of the best moves a scarfer can have, allowing it to get an advantageous switch-in when used on a predicted switch and keeping your momentum rolling.

    Mix Attacker:
Scarlet (Houndour) (F) @ Life Orb
    Trait: Flash Fire
    EVs: 200 Atk / 60 SAtk / 248 Spd
    Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
    - Substitute
    - Sucker Punch
    - Fire Blast
    - Dark Pulse

Switch it in on a move that it resists, preferably a choiced one and proceed to set up a Sub and slam anything that switches in with the appropriate move. This set has the ability to keep a sub preserved reasonably well due to its powerful Sucker Punch, and its reasonable speed that allows it to serve as an exceptional wall-breaker for almost anything other than Munchlax. On that note this Houndour is by no means a fan of other Houndour that pack a super effective Hidden Power such as fighting. An opposing Houndour with HP fighting will beat you one on one with relative ease due to it resisting all your attacks.

    Priority Abuser
Joel (Croagunk) (M) @ Life Orb
    Trait: Dry Skin
    EVs: 188 Atk / 16 Def / 188 SAtk / 116 SDef
    Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)
    - Bullet Punch
    - Vacuum Wave
    - Fake Out
    - Ice Punch

A very strong user of priority and an all round good team player. With access to 3 different priority moves Croagunk is almost never stuck for a plan. He is incredibly useful for taking down the occasional sweeper with one too many boosts or finishing off that Scarfer that is just a little too fast. Ice Punch is almost exclusively to catch Gligar on the switch but also helps with not letting Drifloon using you as set-up fodder. A cautionary note when using Croagunk, falling short of the KO mark is very easy to do with the priority moves, take care when using them.

    Special Sweeper
Alice (Drifloon) (F) @ Oran Berry
    Trait: Unburden
    EVs: 24 HP / 84 Def / 196 SAtk / 8 SDef / 196 Spd
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Calm Mind
    - Substitute
    - Shadow Ball
    - Hidden Power [Fighting]

Drifloon is an exceptional ghost in Little Cup. You can't really compare Drifloon to Gastly in that they function in completely different ways. Gastly will beat Drifloon one on one if Drifloon is yet to activate Unburden however Unburden turns Drifloon into a whole-new beast. Reaching 30 speed in order to tie with the fastest of Scarfers (Elekid, Voltorb and Diglett). Setting up Calm Minds is a primary aim, at +2 the only thing you have to fear is Munchlax and perhaps specially defensive Porygon.

An importable for those who like the look of the team and wish to use it:
Carys (Phanpy) (F) @ Oran Berry
    Trait: Pickup
    EVs: 196 HP / 196 Atk / 116 Def
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Stealth Rock
    - Earthquake
    - Head Smash
    - Ice Shard

Moses (Munchlax) (M) @ Oran Berry
    Trait: Thick Fat
    EVs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 SDef
    Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
    - Fire Punch
    - Frustration
    - Pursuit
    - Earthquake

Glen (Mankey) (M) @ Choice Scarf
    Trait: Vital Spirit
    EVs: 116 HP / 196 Atk / 196 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Close Combat
    - Ice Punch
    - U-turn
    - Payback

Scarlet (Houndour) (F) @ Life Orb
    Trait: Flash Fire
    EVs: 200 Atk / 60 SAtk / 248 Spd
    Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
    - Substitute
    - Sucker Punch
    - Fire Blast
    - Dark Pulse

Joel (Croagunk) (M) @ Life Orb
    Trait: Dry Skin
    EVs: 188 Atk / 16 Def / 188 SAtk / 116 SDef
    Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)
    - Bullet Punch
    - Vacuum Wave
    - Fake Out
    - Ice Punch

Alice (Drifloon) (F) @ Oran Berry
    Trait: Unburden
    EVs: 24 HP / 84 Def / 196 SAtk / 8 SDef / 196 Spd
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Calm Mind
    - Substitute
    - Shadow Ball
    - Hidden Power [Fighting]

    Enjoy the team.

i felt i had to post to liven up this team

There is nothing to say apart from very solid
The Metagame has gone away from snover and kabuto etc and so phanpy is very strong in order to set up SR for the team
Lax is just that fatty that you can for some reason fit into small places and do it's job over a wide area which is perfect
Mankey is a great scarfer that also forces switches and add up SR
Houndour forces alot of switches and can cause real damage, strong priority, but also the only priority
Paras, a strong set up but i find a bit situational this could be changed for a strong priority user such as croagunk that would still keep your water immunity
Drifloon, in my eyes not the best lc ghost, nor gastly is, they just do different things.

My favourite ghost is duskull because i use it on a number of my teams to support my team, but i guess it is heading more towards a houndour core again from the stunky and so floon suites this team better

Not many changes i can think of apart from one... You lack a water type, this is no real downfall of the team, it just means you cannot cover fire types and especially houndour so easily. This is another reason why i suggested croagunk (sucker punch life orb to lax is about 60% which is no laughing matter)

A great solid team and a good example for others to follow

This team has quite a few things wrong with it. Sorry but it is true. Also sorry in advance if I come accross as arrogant. Smogon rubs off on you.

Phanpy NEEDS Ice Shard when running a lead set. You have nothing that can take on a well played Scarf Gligar. Phanpy is the only thing that can take everything it has but currently it can do nothing back. So put that in over Superpower. It is doing nothing for you at the moment. Phanpy doesn't need to ohko munchlax seeing as munchlax is outsped and isn't 2hkoing you thanks to Oran Berry.

Elekid rips this team apart. You have one Priority and the only thing that can take a hit from it is 2hkoed and your lead. Manky can beat it provided it is at full health but that isn't likely seeing as it will be switching in alot.

Krabby is even worse for you because it beats everything on your team with rocks and a LO. It can get an Agility up on a few of the pokes on your team. Such as munchy and Houndour and proceed to OHKO everything on your team as well as outspeeding them at +2.

There are a few more things that maul this team but most are obscure.

My best idea for improving this team without wrecking the foundations would be to stick some form of priority user over your munchlax. The key to LC is Scarves or Priority. Munchlax is sponging hits. Think about it. The ghosts are beaten by Houndour, Paras can switch into the water attacks all day and Phanpy is one of the best physical sponges out there. You don't really need him.

As for what to put in over him you have a few choices. Seel is a great priority user but a bit weak. That doesn't help you with the water types though so unless you are good with predicting if they are a scarf (Paras) or a LO (Mankey) you will have some problems.

If you want help with those Special Attacking waters then you can't go past Croagunk. A set of Fake Out/Vacuum Wave/Bullet Punch/Ice Punch is a good option here. As for the EVs on that put them into SpA and Att as speed isn't really needed too much. Scatter the rest into a extra point or two if you can.

That doesn't beat Gligar though which is a bit of an issue. If you do what I said with Phanpy however then that isn't too much of an issue. I also think that Paras can revenge Gligar provided there are no rocks up.

That's it for my rate. Hope that helps you. :)

Croagunk deals with Krabby fairly well.
