{{pokeheader}} {{TOC}} ==General== Lileep’s stats and move pool just scream wall, however it isn’t just limited to full stall. Lileep was blessed by the fifth generation with the new and improved storm drain, creating a wall that in some cases can pack a punch. Lileep is the best {{5glc|Chinchou}} counter in the tier with storm drain boosting its special attack when hit with a water move, and a nifty electric resist. At +1 Lileep can pack much more of a punch with giga drain than would be expected, due to its decent base 12 special attack. Lileep’s main role is a mixed sponge. Lileep can take powerful hits on both side of the spectrum, and can toxic stall with recover. Lileep’s typing suprisingly has four weaknesses and two resistances, but don’t let that be discouraging; Lileep can easily take most super-effective hits. Lileep has access to recover, and giga drain two of the best recovery moves in the game. Lileep is sadly crushed by two common threats: {{5glc|Timburr}} and {{5glc|Magnemite}}. Lileep can even touch the latter. Lileep is still a potent defensive threat that should be considered on any team, especially if it is {{5glc|Chinchou}} weak. ==Wallflower== {{set |name= |pkmn=Lileep |item=Eviolite |ability=Storm Drain |nature=Bold |nature2=Calm |ev= 228 HP / 220 Def / 60 SDef |ev2= 228 HP / 140 Def / 140 SDef |move1=Recover |move2=Giga Drain |move3=Toxic |move4=Stealth Rock |move42=AncientPower }} This is Lileep’s strongest set, and it makes good use of Lileep’s defensive prowess. Lileep can run physically defensive or specially defensive depending on the EVs and nature. With a bold nature and 220 defense EVs, Lileep reaches 18 defense, while a calm nature and 140 special defense EVs achieves the same 18 in special defense. Lileep has a solid HP of 26 in both sets. Storm drain can bring Lileep up to an impressive 18 special attack after one correct prediction allowing it to deal large amounts of damage to any Pokémon that does not resist it's STABs. Lileep has one of the strongest defensive move pools in the tier with access to both toxic and recover. Giga drain is a great move and it hits {{5glc|Chinchou}}, as well as the common spinners {{5glc|Staryu}} and {{5glc|Drilbur}} for super-effective damage, easily all of them. Both stealth rocks and ancient power are great options and can severely hinder both {{5glc|Yanma}} and {{5glc|Larvesta}}. Lileep is very good at stalling out offensive threats, but leaves much to be desired in a defensive stall war. Lileep does however usually beat {{5glc|Slowpoke}} in one on one. Ancient power's rare, but not unseen, side effect can create an immovable wall capable ripping whole teams apart with defenses in the 30s and a sizable special attack. ===Other Options=== Lileep can run rest and stockpile over hazards and recover to become much more durable than before. This set also removes its toxic weakness at the cost of versatility. Having rest gives it a good edge over many other defensive Pokémon like {{5glc|Slowpoke}}. ===Checks and Counters=== {{5glc|Magnemite}} is THE Lileep counter. It is immune to toxic and resists both giga drain and ancient power. Having a super effective stab move in flash cannon helps break sub variants and makes for faster KOs. {{5glc|Timburr}} is an excellent way to break Lileep. It has the guts ability, which means no Lileep wants to toxic it, as well as being able to hit hard and recover off any damage it takes from giga drain with a super-effective drain punch. ===Synergy=== Common threats such as {{5glc|Ponyta}}, {{5glc|Houndour}}, and {{5glc|Staryu}} love Lileep because of its incredible ability to counter {{5glc|Chinchou}}. Any fire type or Pokemon with a severe water weakness enjoys Lileep support immensely. Lileep works well with Pokemon such as {{5glc|Diglett}} and {{5glc|Slowpoke}} for their ability to check/counter Lileep’s most common weaknesses. {{5glc|Slowpoke}} and Lileep can make an extremely effective defensive core, despite a common weakness to bug. {{5glc|Abra}} is a good offensive option over {{5glc|Slowpoke}}. To me this is finished, so after a few days on the forums with no response I am assuming it is OK to upload to the wiki.
Please help expand the checks/counters section and the synergy section. I cannot write those for some stupid reason.
Sorry I did not see this thread in here. You say Flash Cannon helps break Sub Variants, I'm yet to meet a sub Lileep as such I think it shouldn't have a space in OO either, Stockpile rest is more consistent and effective imo. Perhaps mention Toxic is a bane to Lileep except Stockpile Rest ones. Ferroseed can use it to set up Hazards all day. Its weakness to U-Turns gives it some hard times against users like Larvesta and Archen which is also why the "extremely solid defensive core" they form is not so solid really, common bug weakness. Spikes can give Lileep a hard time switching into Chinchou especially, since Volt Switch can bring in an offensive threat like Yanma to try and donk it, forcing it to take another Spikes round before it can Recover. Croagunk gives it a hard time, it's pure set-up bait for BU or Nasty Plot gunks. I would recommend removing any mention of Night Shade/Seismic Toss, nobody runs them on any Pokémon and for good reason. Most resisted STABs are doing like 3 damage anyway, their output is pitiful. You should mention that it beats the most common spinners (Staryu and Drilbur). Don't mention sub at all on a set without sub. You could mention it at the end in a "you could also use sub for X any Y" but you've mentioned it as if it's a staple of the set. (That said I don't agree with any mention of Sub Lileep) Pls uncaps "SCREAM", it kinda looks bad. As for "To me this is finished, so after a few days on the forums with no response I am assuming it is OK to upload to the wiki." Feel free to PM me on the server or forums if you want one looked at and you think Mylo or I have missed it.
