Another interesting theme idea incoming! This theme is kinda like Juggernaut but executed differently. So, we've got patients in an asylum. They get to /stalk [name] to see what's going on. The code makes it so that every day, 1 or 2 patients will begin to really lose it (done by auto-convert or curses), and those people's names will be broadcast when it happens (~Player~ is about to snap!) Once they reach this point, they can /convert [name] to turn into a serial killer within 3 days or they will automatically die. When they do convert, it will be broadcast, but the player will not be revealed. However, they will go to their own team, away from all other patients. There is also a Mafia team, the Asylum Staff, consisting of Wardens a Boss. The Wardens will be able to /distract [name] to prevent patients from converting, but there will not be enough Wardens to assume complete control of the Asylum, so if patients play well, at least one patient close to losing it will be able to convert and not die. They will also share a kill, which will become 2 kills after Night 5. The Boss is able to /inspect [name] every night, has a +5 vote, and will get 4 kills after Night 5, as well as avoids stalks, so the Staff will get a huge buff at N5 if they are not cleaned out, especially the Boss. This team has a winning chance, but can also gets the game started so that when they are all dead, there are enough Serial Killers to keep the energy going. Roles: Spoiler Patients: Spoiler Patient: Info: Can /stalk [name] once per night. Will convert to Deranged Patient in X amount of nights. Sided with Patients. Help: You are a Patient in the Asylum! People view you as mentally unstable so you are cooped up in this asylum, possibly for the rest of your life. However, you are still mentally stable enough to /stalk [name] to find out what's going on! You will become deranged in a few nights, so get ready for that. Deranged Patient: Info: Can /convert to Serial Killer within 3 nights or die of auto-poison. 15% chance to see night actions but not who performed them. Sided with Patients. Help: You have become deranged! Your mental stability has lowered enough for you to lose the ability to stalk and now, you may /convert [yourname] at night to turn into a Serial Killer and gain the ability to kill at the cost of being sided with yourself. Your craziness allows you to see things that happen during the night, too. Be warned that if you do not go through with the conversion, you will ultimately kill yourself in 3 nights. [/HIDE] Serial Killer: Spoiler Serial Killer: Convert message: A patient has completely lost it and is now a Serial Killer! Info: Gets one /kill per night. Sided with himself. Help: You have completely snapped and have become a serial killer! You may /kill [name] once per night, but you are sided with only yourself. [/HIDE] Asylum Staff: Spoiler Warden: Info: Gets one /distract per night: Sided with Asylum Staff. Help: You are a Warden of the Asylum! Help keep the patients busy and away from dangerous weapons by using /distract [name] once per night (unshared), as well as using /kill [name] once per night (shared). Keep the Asylum safe! Boss: Info: Gets one /inspect per night. Avoids stalks and nightkills. Has +5 vote. Can /warn on day 4 and gets 5 uses of /kill per night on Night 5. Sided with Asylum Staff. Warn message: Patients be warned. The head of the Asylum will no longer tolerate violent and unstable behavior. Have a nice day at the Asylum. Help: You are the Boss! You keep the Asylum running and know everyone, so you may /inspect [name] once per night and never be bothered with stalks or nightkills. You also have a +5 vote to exert your authority with. The idea sounds really cool, but don't you think 7+ kills is a lot? How many people do you expect to be playing?
Actually the game starts out with only 1 kill a night (Wardens), but the game gradually works its way up to borderline killfest, which is what players want to avoid, and with smart plays, they should be able to. Player count is something I'm trying to decide and I may need help with that. Also, Boss avoids nightkills (forgot to add that), so it's in the OP right now, which is completely irrelevant to the discussion at hand but w/e
The fact that it could become a borderline killfest might be what stops the theme from passing QC, though... I dunno.
It has the potential to reach borderline killfest, but as long as players play smart (am I asking for too much from the Mafia community? ;~;), it will rarely reach that stage and be toned down to about 3 or 4 kills per night for most of the game. I'll add a strategy section for this theme soon to show players how to play so it doesn't become a n00bkiller.
