Well, I know programmers have a lot of work, but I think a nice add to Pokemon Online would be the implement of the first generation (RBY). RBY is completly different from the actual metagame, EVs working differently, Special acting as both Special Attack and Special Defense, no abilities, no hazards, etc. It would be nice to have (please?)

I'm searching for NetBattle's source code. Anyone knows where I can have it?
Edit : Coyo told me it would be useless.

If you (or anyone else) collected up detailed information about everything that would need to be changed it would help if/when someone takes up adding earlier generations.

Yeah eric good idea. I'll post differences in this thread.
    Here I go :
    -151 Pokemons (Bulbasaur->Mew)
-Steel and Dark types doesn't exist
-There is no genders, so Attract and Egg Moves doesn't exist.
-Magneton is a pure electric type
-Sand Attack and Bite are Normal typed moves
-Hyper Beam doesn't need recharge turn when the opponent is KOed, or behind a substitute, or if Hyper Beam misses
-Counter only works with Normal and Fighting type moves, however, it may affect Ghost-Type Pokemons, if someone use a move such as Horn Drill or Guillotine on your Substitute, the Substitute breaks, and using Counter after this deals infinite damage to the foe (99999999999999999999999)
-The IV system works differently; There is 15 IV for Attack, Defense, Speed, and Special, the HP IV is decided by other IVs.
-The EV system works differently too; there is a maximum of 65535 evs in each stat, and no total EV limit. The stat boosting formula is different (I haven't found it yet, working on finding this)
-Special Attack and Special Defense are the same stat (Special). I'll make a list of these Special Stat later.
    -Amnesia boosts the Special Stat
-Critical hit ratio works that way: base speed*100/512 for regular attacks (such as Pound or Surf), base speed*100/64 for high critical hit ratio moves (like Slash and Razor Leaf). Critical hit damage is NOT affected by stat changes, so a +6 Surf would deal more damage than a +6 critical hit Surf.
-Learnsets are different, exemple, Gyarados cannot learn Earthquake.
-Explosion and Selfdestruct have respectively 170 and 130 base power (opponent's defense is halved), and if the opponent has a Substitute up, the user of Explosion/selfdestruct will not faint.
-Bug type attacks deal super effective damage to Poison type, and Poison type moves deal super effective to Bug type. Ghost attacks doesn't affect Psychic typed Pokemons, Ice typed moves hit Fire pokemons for regular effective damage.
-The move Haze not only remove stat changes, but remove every status problems, Leech Seeds, and Toxic poison becomes normal poison.
-Wrap, Clamp, Fire Spin and Bind traps Pokemon for 2-5 turns, preventing them to move. Those moves work a bit like the move Outrage from today. I won't write the entire mechanics here, cause its very long. I'll try to put a link.
-Freezing/Sleeping works a different way. A Pokemon will stay frozen until the foe use Haze or a fire typed move. When a Pokemon wakes up, it can't attack on this turn.
-On multi-hit moves, such as Fury attack, it can only deal a critical hit on the first turn ; if this occurs, the damage it dealt on the first hit will be the same on every hits.
-Every moves (bar Swift) have a 1/256 chance of missing, even 100% accuracy moves, such a Ice Beam or Psychic
    -Blizzard has 90% accuracy
-Reflect and Light Screen last until the opponent switches out, and Haze cancel them.
-Roar/Whirlwind are useless moves. Whirlwind has 85% accuracy.
-Substitute only blocks Poison, stat dropping moves, confusion moves, and the moves secondary effects. Substitute kills the user if at 1/4 HP
-Disable/Mimic select a random move from the opponent to block/copy. Disable cause Rage to build.
-Talking of Rage, when selected, the user has to use Rage until it dies. If rage misses, its accuracy becomes 1/256
-OHKO moves (exemple Horn Drill) only work on slower foes, or when speed tie is won.
-Swords Dance cancel burn's Attack dropping effect, and Agility cancel paralysis' speed dropping effect
-Toxic cause Leech Seed damage to increase each turn (double damage the other did last turn)
-Switching out after being inflicted by Toxic turns it into normal poison (which is rather bad)
-Focus Energy quarters your critical hit ratio
-Rest eliminates status problem, but not the stats (exemple the Speed drop from paralysis)
-Struggle is a NORMAL typed base 50 power attack. It does not affect Ghost typed Pokemons.
    -There is no held item
-Super-Effective messages depend on the foe second type.
-Using Substitute at exactly 25% HP makes you faint.
-Using a recovery move (exemple Recover) when you lost 255 or 511 from your max HP makes it fail.
-If you are fully paralyzed or if you hurt yourself in your confusion when underground/in the air, you'll stay where you are until switch out/or you use the move again. The only moves that can hit you are Swift, Bide and Transform

I'm still gathering information, and if you have some, contact me.

I can't wait for gen 1 just because of the hilarious scenarios that happen with all of the flawed game mechanics.

Be careful with Hyper Beam, as the most powerful Hyper Beam in the game does not OHKOes Chansey ( it is Tauros's) Gen 1 as a much more bulky approach than Gen 3 and 4.

My main gen 1/2 memories come from pokemon stadium, so like I said in the other thread, please make a stadium mode available with this!

I hope RBY doesn't go to crap like ADV in this sim. It saddens me, because I thought a lot more people would play it.

    So you never playef NetBattle?
And I liked that game better in Stadium 2 with Togepi.

@ Gold : Stadium metagame is completly different competitively, and it makes Chansey even more broken.

Why's that? Because you only have 3 pokemon to take it down? I wouldn't mind a stadium mode being implemented for all gens.

Hahaha. Chansey is immune to everything not called Hi Jump Kick or Hyper Beam. Hi Jump Kick is only possessed by Hitmonlee, and Hyper Beam sucks in Stadium. You'll have to rely on Tauros' Double Edge, and I'm not sure Tauros will appreciate the recoil.

Tauros dislikes Thunder Wave. And Thunder Wave is found on everything that may learn it in RBY. Tauros isn't that fantastic, still it's kinda pro, I have to admit. Tauros/Starmie mmm...

This is not the forum for general RBY discussion, start a thread elsewhere for that. If/when coyo needs more information, he'll post somewhere. Locking for now.
