The top 5 have remained the same since April and likely won't relinquish the spots barring drastic changes. The rest of the tier is also relatively stable; Xatu's usage has shot up a bit, likely due to players wanting to keep Stealth Rocks off at all costs, while Bronzong and Darmanitan take slight hits to their usage. Golurk is on the rise, while passive wall Registeel and complete monsters Porygon-Z and Sharpedo are starting to become in danger of falling, which will make LU...very interesting, to say the least. Blissey has already settled nicely into the tier and will likely take some usage away from Snorlax and Umbreon should it remain in the tier; what is more terrifying is that Reuniclus sits under the cutoff point for LU, meaning players simply aren't taking advantage of it yet. A final note: Ambipom is now firmly UU, a full 1% above the cutoff, likely due to PiF's return to the ladder. Discuss away!
I'm not that surprised Xatu is approaching 9% usage. Look at all the Stealth Rockers it can potentially come in on: Cobalion, Bronzong, Mew, Swampert, Azelf, Empoleon, Gligar, Nidoqueen, Registeel, and Claydol (I might've missed 1 or 2, although I left a few out because they actually beat Xatu, like Rhyperior.) Also, UU is a tier full of powerhouses, so glass cannons like Sharpedo and Porygon-Z that lack the speed won't prosper usage wise, in my opinion (although they both can raise their speed - they are both weak to fighting an have paper thin defenses.) You need either Bulk or Speed alongside your power in UU, even if you have amazing special attacking capabilities like Porygon-Z. Mienshao, Victini, Raikou, Zapdos, Shaymin, etc. (plenty more that I am missing) all have good speed. Rhyperior, Togekiss, Suicune, and others have relitively good bulk. Porygon-Z and Sharpedo are just...left out.
Just saying, Finch you canceled out what you said about P-Z saying it had good Speed then saying it didn't. :l
Never said it had good speed, although I mentioned it had ways to raise items speed (agility.) Try reading before posting!!!
Sableye having almost 10% usage disgusts me ;-; No wonder people aren't using Reuniclus yet. Well I guess you need to do something to beat the obscene amount of stall teams in UU. Which also explains the usage spike that Xatu is having. We should try to achieve a UU metagame where stall isn't as dominating and other playstyles are viable without having to resort to Sableye/Xatu/Togekiss. Togekiss is also pretty high up there because it does very well against stall teams.
Ambipom 5.09573 4962 NO NO NO NO NO NO NO Xatu and Sableye seeing a lot of usage it seems, anti-hazards is what it's all about (and Sableye is a bitch so yeah) Mienshao should dethrone Heracross imo, Mienshao is the best UU Pokemon. Needs more Nidoqueen, Tornadus, and Azelf.
Well, the top and high tier Pokemon don't surprise me at all. I personally want to see more Weaviles being used because it takes out a good amount of the higher tier with SR up, but I may be asking for too much. Blissey, as I suspected, sits nicely in the mid-low tier below but not overshadowed by Snorlax and Umbreon. THANK GOD Reuniclus didn't drop yet. I was fretting about that for the past week O_o. Golurk is really weird in UU. It's not a support, it's not an attacker, and it's fairly outclassed as a Bulky Ghost (Water weakness >__>). It makes a good offensive pivot like Landorus-T in OU, so I could see it work in semi-offense teams, but definitely not in stall teams (losing to Blastoise and Chandelure is not appealing). I've looked at the usage list. In my opinion, no one is using Sharpedo right. Comparatively, the Special/Special mix set is better than the pure physical set because there are already a good amount of physical attackers and physical walls/Intimidate users that Sharpedo can't get across that only the Special attacking set can. Hydro Pump is stronger than Waterfall, Dark Pulse is a million times better than Crunch (+SpAtk 216 Dark Pulse with Life Orb OHKOs Cofagrigus and Slowbro with Rocks; Crunch either stops Speed Boost or does nothing respectively), and 40 Atk LO Earthquake is a solid 2HKO to Empoleon. Sharpedo has the potential to take on the metagame, but no one sees that potential.
