Here is my new theme, Lynch Wars! It's a game that focuses heavily on lynch, and success is tethered on whether you can find your team fast enough and coordinate to control the lynch! In games where the King is present, your /inspect is not as important, but for game <20 players, you're going to want to use it, as it will prove very valuable. You can choose to either use it on the 1st night and find a teammate/baddie, or you can save it for another time, when a certain person has not been found and needs cleaning/proof of baddie. If your team has found multiple baddies using their inspects and you don't have enough Knights to handle them, you may want to agree on who to lynch, then agree on who each person shall /drain, so they will have less influence on the lynch. Remember, vote power is very valuable in this theme![/HIDE] Knight: Spoiler As a Knight, your job is to get rid of enemies during the night. You may want to abstain from killing the 1st night, but when Warriors find you and give you their info, you should talk to each other about who to kill. If someone evades your kill, they are the Infiltrator and you should find a way to get that out to the public ASAP![/HIDE] King: Spoiler The King's job is very simple, find your teammates and enemies! Once you've found your teammates, tell your Warriors and Knights who the enemies are and lynch them! Make sure you lynch too, your +10 vote is very valuable![/HIDE] Infiltrator: Spoiler As Infiltrator, you get to cause some chaos on the battlefield! Use /kill during the day to kill people (aim for Kings and Knights if they reveal themselves or something), and vote for anyone with your +10 vote! When we were testing this theme a while ago, one of the things that I noticed was that this theme was very hectic. That's not a bad thing considering what we already have on the server, but I think you're doing a fairly good job with your help text. Just make sure that in order to not clutter up /roles and /priority, use "hide: true on drained roles and their actions. This will prevent unnecessary duplicates of everything. The Red Nation apparently has both priority in its commands (earlier in code = earlier in priority, if prio numbers are the same) and earlier spawn. It may not seem like much, but this gives the Reds a huge advantage, as both /drain and /kill will render their targets incapable of completing their actions that night. I would strongly recommend that you try to balance this by giving each side an advantage in each aspect (i.e. Red w/ higher prio, Black w/ earlier spawn). Also, changing the command from convert to curse with "curseCount": 1 would ensure that both sides' /drain actions are processed, unless of course a /kill happens. I'm sorry if I worded any of that in a confusing way. Please take my thoughts into consideration, though. :)
Sebastian I don't think control over the spawn would affect anything because the sides are both equal at all points because of the infiltrator in odd numbered games well except in very small games

So they have a better chance of connecting people? Without it, I just see this theme becoming another Castle...little strategy and lots of teamkills
perhaps you could differentiate the individual knight and soldier roles a bit to give the /drains and /kills different priority, to fix red's small advantage in that area. on paper it feels a bit strange because I'm envisioning fake hax/inspects everywhere and the complete mirroring makes things a bit difficult as well. idk if there's a command that allows the /drain to change the vote into a random number (from a previously-specified range) but that would be cool.
Not a fan of this. I'm going to decline [1] because 2 sides and 1 /other/ threat. Seems like Castle antics with some inspections thrown in.
I didn't really want any randkilling, I meant for this theme to be really strategic, requiring one to gather with teammates and discuss targets and kills. If it helps, I could tone this theme down to 12 player non-peak with only Warrior roles, and also fix priorities :/.
If it's low peak then the theme would revolve around who has more numbers. Get a kill and if it isn't a TK, then GG. More votes and proper inspects during the votephase and one team would be up.
Butbut...Warriors don't get /kill and only one inspect per game. And also I'm thinking bout adding a lowpeak conspirator role to even it out. I could use some suggestions for this. And for the /drain command, I usually not recommend using this until you have a fair grasp on who's on your team, because one misdrain could mean the difference between win and loss.
A theme revolving heavily on lynches means that the team controlling the lynch should, by the theme's logic, win. So if you have a proper kill and your team is up, then you go with your team and start overpowering the other side. 2 side clanwar just doesn't make much sense with how it is currently.
Which is why I am trying to come up with a Conspirator role who acts as a wild card of sorts and can vary the lynch a little. It would prove your logic to not always be true, as well as add a surprise element to the theme. Help here would be appreciated, as I've said before. This Conspirator role could also do something weird on lynch, I'm not sure yet :/ EDIT: Just saw Windblown's post actually, and his idea seems interesting, if possible. It could change the vote to go so low it goes into the negatives, just a little lower, or even boost it higher, though after one drain, it will never be affected by drain again. This would put unpredictibility into the game, though I am familiar enough with JSON to know that if this were possible, the amount of code needed would be a lot :/
Not gonna bother trying to say this better. Roild already said my exact thoughts that I had when I read the OP. Decline [2] Also a non-revealing daykill for a role that converts upon being lynched is just pointless. Everyone will know who it is.
