    My old LOTR theme. Previously approved before the big wipe.

    Description: Firstly, it's borderline-killfest, I know. But if you want to reject it because of that, think of the actual death toll throughout all 3 books/films. It's meant to be fast paced to put all parties under pressure.
    There are some really powerful roles, especially among the mafia (ie Witch King), however, there is also a lot of revealing going on (two hobbits, Galadriel, Guards etc), some with high reveal rate. This never actually stops the mafia killing (risk-assessment-wise), but makes it easier to remove them afterwards. The power of the fellowship's kills (3 standby kills, 1 non-revealing) is also meant to balance this out.

    Stuff you are going to gripe about:
    -Presence of 3 WW roles. I think these add extra dynamic to the game, and make mafia-on-mafia kills more likely. The village will only really suffer from this if it has Bad Luck Brian-esque luck, or if all the spies reveal themselves in one.
    -Lots of killing. See above note. It's not meant to be a slow game, and believe me the kills balance themselves out, or at least used to (Killers can be killed before they kill... etc).
    -Reskin? This might happen as this theme was originally reskinned. I made it well over a year ago and didn't know the rules about reskinning (this was when there were still reskin themes kicking around (IE the old Pokemon theme (The best one! Bring it back!)). I added a load of non-reskin roles and changed a few (Gandalf got Stun, Witch King got distract, added Shelob, added Legolas, Theoden and some other stuff, gave Balrog 3 kills...).

    Other stuff
    -I've been toying with removing the Balrog just because he's a bit... unnecessary... but he's also really cool so I'd like a test period unless it's a given that he needs to go.
    -I don't want to add new commands such as day reveal and changerole because I haven't a clue how to do these. This theme was made before these commands were invented, it stays like that.
    -If you want me to tone down on the kills/ spy roles it can be done.

    Other than that, it's at V5 as it turned out there were still glitches with V4 (Lamperi's mafia check hadn't picked them up) I ran it through RiceKirby's and it now has none.

    The Village has what, 3 Inspects and 4 day kills? I'd remove one of the Insps and 2 of the dk's and instead of the Uruk Hai, add in Saruman the White. On flavour, he'd Insp as a Hobbit, get multi votes and an Inspect (one interchangeable with a kill? idk). Give Shelob an extra poison IMO. You have to be careful or it'll be a killfest.

    Nice idea. I do need to tone down on the daykills, so I think remove Boromir and an Inspect... Good idea about the Uruk captain, I never considered Saruman. Thanks!

    Edit: I'll wait for a bit more feedback before editing though, but Saruman is definitely going in.

    So this has fallen from the radar, which is really saddening because I love LOTR and I think it has lots of potential. However nothing really came from it even when Tempest posted this, but I’ll see what I can do. First off here’s a list of roles:

    Sam – spy
    Pippin – spy
    Rohan Guard – villager
    Theoden – inspector, samurai, 2 votes
    Faramir – inspector, immune to nightkills, 0 vote
    Gandalf – inspector, distracter
    Gimli – bodyguard
    Merry – distracter
    Frodo – Mayor
    Galadriel – Spy, 3 vote
    Aragorn – vigilante, 3 votes
    Boromir – revealing daykiller
    Legolas – unrevealing daykiller

    Mordor Orc – basic mafia
    Witch-King – inspector, immune to distracts, high priority nightkill

    Isengard Orc – basic mafia
    Captain Ugluk – immune to distracts
    Wormtongue – miller as Rohan Guard, distracter, bodyguard

    Gollum – nightkill, daykill (nonrevealing), kill distracters. Basically Sephiroth
    Shelob – nightkill, 2 night poison

    Balrog – 3 kills

    Roles1 list: Gandalf, Gimli, Merry, Mordor Orc, Isengard Orc, Frodo, Mordor Orc, Sam, Isengard Orc, Gollum, Rohan Guard

    One-villager village looks overpowered on paper but Gandalf can’t claim because Gollum has a daykill (although this might make things very messy – 4 kills per phase?)

    The high amount of role reveals coupled by the high amount of kills could easily unbalance a game towards one side or another – all the inspectors could drop in one night or all the mafia might be exposed in one night. So yeah, I’d start with TSO’s suggestion of turning the killing down just a bit, and Saruman is a great idea. Shouldn’t you add a Ringwraith or something to the Mordor side because Isengard’s side has 3 mafia roles?

    Lots of kills, village seems to be OP, balrog with 3 kills is a bit much if it's instant. He won't even win as much as just wreck other teams.

    Village has 3 daykills possible. Gollum has 1 for a whopping 4 day actions. 3 spies on the village side, one of which is also a mayor. A whopping 3 inspectors, each with other abilities.

    Bit much overall.
