Team: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quick overview Hi I don't know if anyone else has made this team before, but I decided to make this team because V-Create is awesome. This is a gimmick team that makes use of the move Assist and V-Create. Assist choses a random move from my team's pokemon, while V-Create has a base power of 180, having the highest set base power of all non-sacrificial moves. Sunny day gives fire type moves a 50% increase in base power. Thus, any Pokemon with average attack stats should be able to deal quite a lot of damage, while Pokemon with high base attack and STAB will deal insane damage. Basically, sunny day is first set up, then the other 5 Pokemon can just freely spam Assist. Since there is only one move in my team that Assist can copy, Assist will always let the user use V-Create. This team is actually very simple to use, and works quite well for me. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V-Create??? (Ninetales) (M) @ (No Item) Trait: Drought EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Protect - Covet Ninetale's only job is to set the weather to sunny. This makes base power of Fire-type moves will be increased by 50% which helps this team a lot. Then it has no other use except using covet to steal an item from the opponent to annoy them, as well as making them less effective. Ninetales should be saved though if the opponent has a weather pokemon, so that it can change the weather to our advantage again. Even if the opponent does not have any weather pokemon, Ninetales can be used to take strong hits and provide a safe switch in later on in the battle. Its pretty tanky and can take a few hits while annoying people with covet which does little damage. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weak-V-Create! (Hypno) (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Forewarn EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Assist - Trick - Protect -Hypno is the weakest in this team, but is used over other Assist users as it can take fighting and psychic attacks. That makes it useful as Infernape is weak to psychic attacks while Liepard and Weavile are weak to fighting attacks. Other than that, it is can be used to take strong attacks and even die to provide a free switch in for my other pokemon. Honestly I dont mind if Hypno gets knocked out. -If it doesn't get knocked out it can deal some good damage with V-Create. There are other Assist users but I use Hypno because most of them are normal types(purugly, persian, spinda)and my team will have a greater weakness to fighting type attacks. -That is not much of a problem though, since most of my pokemon are scarfed and can 1HKO quite a few pokemon under the sun. -People also do not expect a fire type attack from Hypno and may send in pokemon like ferrothorn to get 1HKOed instead. -Trick can be used to annoy or lock powerful attackers into a single attack before Hypno gets knocked out, making it easier for my other pokemon to beat that pokemon. -Hypno's Forewarn is also the preferred ability as it lets you find out one of your opponents moves, while the other abilities are quite useless. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V-Create!! (Weavile) (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Pressure EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Assist - Thief - Protect -Weavile is a very strong V-Create user and is one of the main sweepers in this team. With a base attack of 120 and base speed of 125, it is a perfect sweeper with V-Create. -While it has frail defenses, it can still take dark and ghost attacks for Hypno. - Thief is just a random unneeded move, but since this move is not copied by Assist, why not have it(who knows maybe someone actually uses KnockOff). -Pressure is the preferred ability as pickpocket is useless here. -Weavile can also bait out steel or ice type pokemon. Steel type walls will most of the time require only one V-Create to take out. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OVER9000!!! (Infernape) (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Blaze EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Assist - Protect -The awesomemest pokemon in the team. -High attack+STAB+sun=a lot of damage. Infernape is the other main sweeper in the team with is good base attack and speed, it can really make huge dents on even tough physical walls -Infernape is also good for revenge killing. -Nothing much to say, just make sure to switch out often to cancel the defense and speed lowering from the V-Creates. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V-Create!!! (Liepard) (M) @ Focus Sash Trait: Prankster EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Assist - Thief - Protect -Liepard is very very useful as it has priority assist due to prankster, so it can help kill many fast sweepers. For example, a Shell Smash Cloyster would completely beat my team, but Liepard can beat it easily unless cloyster has ice shard, but focus sash will help it to take the hit. -Liepard is also a good sweeper as it does not need to switch out every few turns as the V-Create's speed lowering does not affect it because of prankster. -Liepard is actually one of my favourite pokemon in this team, but its V-Create is not as powerful as the others. Prankster makes up for that though. -Since Liepards has Prankster, I do not need to worrt about speed and thus it does not need a choice scarf. This means it can freely use its other moves. -Protect can actually be used to scout for the opponent's moves so that we can predict what he will do next. -Thief is not really needed, but if the focus sash is used and you feel that you wont need Liepard anymore, just use it to steal an item. Thief does not get priority from Prankster though. -I like to save and use Liepard as an end game sweeper though, when my opponent's pokemon are all weakened down, priority V-Create can just sweep them all. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V-Creator Victini (Victini) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Victory Star EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - V-create - Protect -Victini provides the V-Create for my other Pokemon to assist it. -Victini is actually not bad and can also do a lot of damage with V-Create as it has STAB and its base attack is quite high. -It can also be used to take psychic/fighting/steel/fire/grass/ice attacks, and it has an OK bulk since its base stats are all 100. -V-Create will slow it down so switch often. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Notes and strategies -This team is not for serious battling. -Although it seems like a stupid team, it actually works quite well. -People do not expect V-Creates and will often switch in Pokemon weak to fire, allowing easy 1HKOs. -Some people will also rage at how Assist always gets V-Create(meaning they haven't figured out how this works, so you can surprise them with more unexpected V-Creates. -Do not underestimate the power of V-Create, even when against Pokemon that resist it. It will still deal a considerable amount of damage to them. -I guess the only way to deal with V-Create's stat lowering is to switch out -This team is completely crushed by rain teams. It is almost impossible to beat rain teams. However, if Ninetales is not knocked out before the Politoed, there is a small chance of winning if you get the sun up again. Even then, facing a team of many water pokemon(which resist V-Create) will be not be as easy at all. -If the opponent has a Politoed, use any pokemon as your first pokemon, then switch immediately on the first turn to Ninetales. Since Politoed is slower, if Ninetales is used on the first turn, rain will cancel out the Sunny day from Drought -4 Pokemon have choice scarf, allowing them to outspeed many pokemon, without needing to worry about getting locked into one move, as they have only assist to begin with(and protect). -Switch out if you know you will be outsped(due to vcreate lowering speed), into another pokemon that resists the incoming attack. If not just switch into ninetails to take the hit and covet/wear them down, before switching back. -When you meet someone with a Pokemon with flash fire(~Heatran~), you can just forfeit and don't bother trying. -A really good player who figured out your team quickly might find a way to counter V-Create -I know this team has many flaws, but it doesn't matter when you can 1/2HKO most Pokemon(at least thats what i think..) -Water type moves will also decrease by 50% in power under the Sun, so Infernape and Victini have a higher chance of taking water attacks. -Always have the Sun up at all times. -If the opponent sets up on Ninetales, either try to damage them as much as possible with covet, and revenge kill after Ninetales dies. If the opponent is too fast use Liepard. Either that, or just switch into Hypno(the sacrifice)and spam V-Creates. -Taunt can actually screw this team up, BUT most of the time these pokemon will be faster then the taunter, so it cannot possibly taunt the entire team. However, if it actually outspeeds our ChoiceScarf users, use Liepard instead to kill the Taunter -Beware of pokemon with Extremespeed, if they set up and can 1HKO your pokemon, its impossible to beat them anymore -Common dragons like Garchomp resist V-Create, but Tyranitar is the most annoying as it can tank everything because of the sandstorm and resistance... -Try this team out ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Stuff-You could try using Contrary Spinda in this team, as V-Create gives it boosts. I tried it but Spinda is just too weak and slow even with choice scarf, and baton passing it speed will mess up Assist, giving you random baton passes at crucial moments. -Most of the Pokemon have maxed attack and speed EVs as V-Create is physical, but on liepard i gave it more bulk instead of speed. BETTER ALTERNATIVE TO HYPNO Wobbuffet @ Custap Berry Trait: Shadow Tag EV: 28 HP / 232 Def / 248 SpDef Calm Nature (+SpDef, -Atk) -Counter -Mirror Coat -Destiny Bond -Since some pokemon are really annoying due to the fact that they resist V-Create, Wobboffet will be great to use to kill them, before setting the sun up again with Ninetales. -Examples include Politoeds with drizzle, Flash Fire Heatran/Arcanine, Life Orb Terrakion. -252SpAtk Choice Specs Politoed (+SAtk) Hydro Pump in Rain vs 28HP/248SpDef Wobbuffet (+SpDef): 71% - 84% (378 - 445 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. Mirror Coat to Death. Cannot switch in safely or can try Custap Berry Destiny Bond if it gets into range -252SpAtk Choice Specs Politoed (+SAtk) Surf in Rain vs 28HP/248SpDef Wobbuffet (+SpDef): 56% - 66% (297 - 351 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. Same as Hydro Pump. Cannot Custap Berry Destiny unless entry hazards are present -252SpAtk Flash Fire Heatran (Neutral) Fire Blast vs 28HP/248SpDef Wobbuffet (+SpDef): 55% - 65% (295 - 348 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. Same as Toed's Surf -252SpAtk Life Orb Flash Fire Heatran (Neutral) Fire Blast vs 28HP/248SpDef Wobbuffet (+SpDef): 72% - 85% (384 - 451 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. Same as Toed's Hydro Pump -252Atk Life Orb Flash Fire Arcanine (+Atk) Flare Blitz vs 28HP/232Def Wobbuffet (Neutral): 79% - 93% (418 - 495 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. Cannot Custap Berry Destiny Bond due to Espeed. Counter to Death -252Atk Life Orb Terrakion (+Atk) X-Scissor vs 28HP/232Def Wobbuffet (Neutral): 52% - 62% (278 - 330 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. . Cannot switch in safely. Counter to death. -Basically, just switch in to annoying pokemon that you can't take out, and use Counter or Mirror Coat to take them out. When at low health(-25%), the Custap berry will activate, and on the next turn Wobbuffet will move first and use Destiny Bond, to take down the opponent before dying. -Wobbuffet is very useful to beat Drizzle Politoeds before changing the weather back to sunny again, halving the power of water moves, so the chances of winning are actually a lot higher. -Flash fire Heatrans can now be destroyed too. Thanks to Mr. N00b for the suggestion and info----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's all.Try this team out and help me see if I can improve the team. There are not many Pokemon with Assist though, so I guess these Pokemon are the best to use.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Importable: Spoiler V-Create??? Why bother using Thief? It just seems redundant in the face of spamming V-Create. You could try Sunny Day on something though.
Um... there's a thing called Drought Ninetales, you know. Kinda redundant... Though I have to admit it might be good against rain teams
Thief isn't copied by assist, so it's a good filler. However, please extend some of your descriptions, they are to be at least 3 lines long
Well, if Ninetales die and they bring in something like Politoed, could be useful. But I know what you mean: Politoed probably would just come back in.
Hilarious team XD It is probably more fun than any other team I have used in a long time. Good work :) athough i wish there were a way around rain/heatran.
Yeah, I used this team a couple of months ago. With no opposing weather or Heatran, you actually have a solid chance of winning.
Wobbuffet would be a great addition to trap Politoed/Heatran/FF Arcanine/Fighting types seeing how Assist does not copy Counter / Mirror Coat / Destiny Bond. 252SpAtk Choice Specs Politoed (+SAtk) Hydro Pump in Rain vs 28HP/248SpDef Wobbuffet (+SpDef): 71% - 84% (378 - 445 HP). I used an Assist team like this quite a while back (to moderate success I might add); I suggest you give it a try: Spoiler Ninetales (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Drought EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Protect Smeargle (F) @ Focus Sash Trait: Own Tempo EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - V-create - Superpower - Counter - Mirror Coat Infernape (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Blaze EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Assist Victini @ Choice Band Trait: Victory Star EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - V-create Liepard (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Prankster EVs: 108 HP / 252 Atk / 148 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Assist Spinda (F) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Contrary EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Assist Victini and Infernape soften the opponent's team up early game while Liepard can revenge kill and sweep late game. Spinda is the secret weapon, being able to boost its stats with Contrary V-Create and Superpower. Come in on something weakened, kill it, and accumulate boosts from there. Smeargle's moveset gives Spinda a 2:1 likelihood of picking V-Create over Superpower, which is the optimum sweep ratio. Superpower also gives you a weapon against Tyranitar and Heatran in addition to hitting Water types neutrally.
Er I guess superpower helps, but how does Smeargle's moveset give Spinda a 2:1 likelihood of picking V-Create over Superpower? Also wouldn't it screw Infernape and Victini's attack if they use superpower instead of V-Create?
