Not certain that this is the right place for it, but it should be a fun little thread to promote some competitive discussion.

Put simply, in this thread, you 'break' a pokemon by changing one or two things about it to overpower it. This can be giving it a new move it wouldn't otherwise learn, or changing its ability, etc. Messing with base stats is probably a bit too brave however, so let's just keep it to movepools and abilities, OK?

The more fitting the better! :D

A couple examples of some of my favourites (change in Bold):

    Miltank @ Leftovers
    252 HP / 120 SDef / 136 Def
    Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
    Scrappy

    -Body Slam
    -Heal Bell
    -Milk Drink
    -Rapid Spin

This thing would bring stall to its knees, having an unblockable Rapid Spin, reliable status healing, reliable recovery and an annoying STAB to boot.

    Camerupt @ Leftovers
    252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Def
    Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
    Dry Skin

    -Lava Plume
    -Earth Power
    -Toxic / Roar
    -Stealth Rock

Camerupt's greatest weakness now becomes its greatest advantage, with the fitting Dry Skin allowing it to fully absorb Water moves, at the cost of being slightly more vulnerable to Fire... something it already resists.

Sounds like a fun idea, right? Feel free to give it a whirl!

Remember though; don't go overboard. No more than two changes! :D

    Reshiram @ Choice Specs
    252 Satk, 4 SDef, 252 Spd
    Modest Nature (+SAtk -Atk)
    Solar Power

    Blue Flare
    Draco Meteor
    Dragon Pulse
    Thunderbolt

Reshiram's already a monster in sun. Now it's an absolute nightmare. Thunderbolt also aids it in getting through 2 of its most problematic opponents: Ho-Oh and Kyogre. Here are some calcs:

    252SpAtk Choice Specs Solar Power Reshiram (+SAtk) Thunderbolt in Sun vs 248HP/84SpDef Leftovers Ho-Oh (Neutral): 88% - 104% (368 - 434 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. 28% chance to OHKO.
252SpAtk Choice Specs Solar Power Reshiram (+SAtk) Blue Flare in Sun vs 4HP/252SpDef Leftovers Blissey (Neutral): 85% - 100% (559 - 658 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. 6% chance to OHKO.
    252SpAtk Choice Specs Solar Power Reshiram (+SAtk) Thunderbolt in Sun vs 252HP/200SpDef Splash Plate Multitype Arceus (+SpDef): 84% - 99% (374 - 442 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO.
252SpAtk Choice Specs Solar Power Reshiram (+SAtk) Dragon Pulse in Sun vs 252HP/0SpDef Soul Dew Levitate Latias (Neutral): 117% - 139% (428 - 506 HP). Guaranteed OHKO.
252SpAtk Choice Specs Solar Power Reshiram (+SAtk) Dragon Pulse in Sun vs 252HP/252SpDef Leftovers Giratina (+SpDef): 101% - 120% (512 - 606 HP). Guaranteed OHKO.
252SpAtk Choice Specs Solar Power Reshiram (+SAtk) Blue Flare in Sun vs 252HP/0SpDef Leftovers Multiscale Lugia (Neutral): 72% - 84% (300 - 352 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO.

    Arceus @ Ghost Plate
    252 Satk, 4 SDef, 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd -SAtk)
Multitype / Insomnia (Keeps Ghost type)

    Nasty Plot
    Judgement
    Flame Thrower
    Grass Knot

If you increased the speed to base 135 then we'd be talking.

Although this is Spoovo's thread I would like to recommend we don't go giving everything certain abilities like Huge Power/Wonder Guard as that would make almost everything broken.

This is a somewhat weird one but I have thought about it for a while.

    Krabby (M) @ Eviolite
    Trait: Natural Cure
    EVs: 40 HP / 236 Atk / 196 Def / 36 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Rest
    - Crabhammer
    - Superpower/Toxic
    - X-Scissor

If you look at Krabby's base stats you might think it would be amazing in LC having very high Attack and Defense unfortunately a lack of reliable healing prevents it from becoming one of the primer tanks in the tier if it got Natural Cure it would gain reliable healing via Rest. It hits an amazing Attack of 22 and 27 Defense with an Eviolite although a fairly poor hp stat of 20 somewhat holds it back I'm sure it would be an amazing Tank. Crabhammer is obvious STAB, X-Scizzor lets it hit Grass Type switch ins while Superpower hits Ferroseed alternatively Toxic could hit Bulky Waters like Frillish.

Yeah, I've gotta agree with the Huge Power thing. While of course, it'd be wonderful if everything had it, there's no creativity behind it. xD

    Xatu (F) @ Leftovers / Rocky Helmet
    Trait: Magic Bounce
    EVs: 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 Spd
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Roost
    - Baton Pass
    - Heat Wave
    - Heal Bell
The mighty Xatu is now able to switch out of TTar and other Pursuit users with ease using Baton Pass. In addition, it doesn't fear Scald burns or Jirachi's/Togekiss's Body Slams due to Heal Bell and Roost.

    Ursaring (M) @ Flame Orb
    Trait: Guts
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Swords Dance
    - Extremespeed
    - Shadow Sneak
    - Close Combat
And suddenly, Ursaring becomes viable in OU with its ridiculously strong Guts-SwordsDance boosted STAB Extremespeed coming off of 130 Attack.

    Scizor @ Choice Band
    Trait: Technician
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
    -U-turn
    -Bullet Punch
    -Mach Punch
    -Pursuit

Although Scizor would still probably remain in OU, the addition of Mach Punch would allow it to revenge-kill weakened Magnezone and Heatran (it deals upwards of 65% to common variants of each of them).

    Fixed!

    Zapdos @ Life Orb
    Trait: Lightningrod
    EVs: 148 HP / 252 SAtk / 108 Spd
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Agility
    - Hurricane
    - Thunder
    - Hidden Power [Ground]/[Grass]/[Ice]

The one legendary bird that could've used it the most was also the only one to not be given Hurricane by Game Freak with Hurricane it would become among the scariest rain sweepers in OU by using its unreleased ability Lightningrod it could gain a special attack boost by switching into electric moves aimed at its water typed brethren Hurricane and Thunder are obvious STAB moves with 100% acc in rain agility boosts its speed beyond that of scarf Latios while the remaining EV's are placed in Hp giving Zapdos a respectable amount of bulk the hidden power choice is for coverage HP ground hits Magnezone and other grounded electric types along with Ttar and Ninetails which remove the rain, Hp Grass hits Rotom-W the hardest while Ice hits opposing Zapdos/Thundurus and still has that amazing coverage with Electric.

    Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Sap Sipper
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Stealth Rock
    - Ice Punch
    - Earthquake
    - Recover

Sap Sipper might not make the most logistical sense but boy would Swampert love to have it. Removing its single weakness and providing free switch in opportunities with a beneficial side effect would surely help "break" Swampert. To break it even more I'm going to give it the one thing it has been begging for since its inception in the 3rd generation, a reliable form of healing with recover it would become an admirable tank with its extremely good typing as seen in Quagsire and Gastrodon. This set could have tons of variations from 3 attacks with a life orb to a choice banded set or a defensive bulky water set.

    Slaking @ Choice Band
    Ability: Pure Power Vital Spirit
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
    - Return
    - Hammer Arm
    - Night Slash
    - Ice Punch

Well, as the rule says Pure/Huge Power will get things "broken", in here it's just Slaking retaining Vigoroth's ability upon evolution. Isn't that legit--being immune to Spore by a Breloom takes into surprise?

    -Bolt Strike

Now imagine kB having TOTAL immunity to one of its biggest weakness. And having a killer movepool

A little over the top with the changes (4 as opposed to just 2), but yeah, that would dominate practically everything that came into contact with it. :3

I like seeing things that make sense flavor-wise but that will still make a Pokemon loads better-- here's two of my favorites.

    Weavile (M) @ Focus Sash
    Trait: Technician
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Swords Dance
    - Faint Attack/Bite
    - Low Sweep
    - Ice Shard

Technician would really be the one boost Weavile could really use that would maximize its potential-- base 60 STAB Ice Shard and base 90 Dark/Fighting coverage is nothing to laugh at, and combined with Swords Dance and that base 125 Speed Weavile would really be a force to be reckoned with. Scizor still walls it to hell and back, so it wouldn't particularly be "broken," but it would definitely be very powerful, and is an ability that generally suits its movepool to a T while fitting the Pokemon in a flavor sense as well. Would also lend much more power to moves like Fake Out and Beat Up that are also seen on it.

    Aerodactyl (M) @ Choice Band
    Trait: Rock Head
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    -Head Smash
    -Brave Bird

    -Double-Edge
    -Aqua Tail

Aerodactyl is really a victim of Gamefreak trolling, with no access to three fantastic moves in Head Smash, Brave Bird and U-Turn that would make perfect sense on it (especially when fellow Rock/Flying fossil Archeops has access to two of them). Since I'm limited to two changes I've highlighted the ones that Aerodactyl can really abuse-- very high-powered STAB moves now coming without the recoil, to be abused in conjunction with a Choice Band and a good 105 base Attack stat, backed by the hilarious 130 base Speed. Probably comparable to Staraptor in function-- more natural speed, Aqua Tail for certain foes and certainly more survivability due to Rock Head, but suffers from a Bullet Punch weakness and lack of access to Close Combat. Again, probably not broken but would be a very good attacker in OU.

...Someone else should do Flash Fire Ferrothorn :v

This thread is getting pretty stupid.
Use any good ability/move on the wrong pokemon and its broken.
And sheer cold is banned. Here's one :
    (Project Oppenheime, I beat you)
    Regigas @ Silk Scarf
    Trait : Adaptability/Huge Power/Whatevs.
    4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
    Adamant Nature
    - Extremespeed
    - Thunderpunch
    - Ice Punch
    - Fire Punch

Lol. Why not 200 attack and hp too?

    No, I'm not drunk:
    Garchomp @ Life Orb
    Trait : No Guard
Whatever evs you think would work
    Good nature
    -Dragon Dance

If you haven't got a Heatran, it's GG.

    Talking of Speed Boost...

    Lucario @ Life Orb

If you don't have Conkeldurr or Techniloom, it's GG.

    Trait: Tinted Lens
    EVs: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spd
    Dragon Dance
    Outrage
    Earthquake
    Fire Punch

Can't switch your bulky Steels into Outrage anymore...
All calcs assume Flygon is at +1 atk with a jolly nature.

    Outrage vs
    252 HP/ 0 Def Ferrothorn: 71% - 84%
    252 HP/ 252 Def Careful Skarmory: 53% - 64%
    252 HP/ 0 Def Scizor: 92% - 109%

I agree; for example, Compoundeyes Flygon is far more reasonable than No Guard Sheer Cold Deoxys.

cba to do exact EVs but with Hurricane the Northwinds would be a monster in rain especially with Hydration. After 1 calm mind it would destroy the tier with either a Rain boosted STAB scald or a Hurricane accompanied by it's massive defenses as well as cute and elegant looks.

Did post a few earlier but it looked like they didn't go through. Here they are with a couple extra.

    Magnezone @ Leftovers
    -Levitate
    Modest or Timid/4 Def/252 SAtk/252 Speed
    -Rock Polish
    -Thunderbolt/Thunder
    -Hidden Power Fire/Ice
    -Flash Cannon

We've wanted Levitate on Zone for ages. Look at it, it is floating.

This one is interesting... (Rain Team)

    Articuno @ Leftovers
    -Magic Guard
    Modest/252 HP/4 Def/252 SAtk.
    -Substitute
    -Hurricane
    -Ice Beam
    -Roost

Bye Bye Stealth Rock weakness, Hello bulk rain tank (I will get hate saying DNite is already better, but this is bulkier and no SR worries, and it's cooler).

Did a flygon set similar to the one a few posts up:

    Flygon @ Leftovers/Lum Berry
    -Levitate
    Jolly/252 Atk/4 Def/252 Speed
    -Dragon Dance
    -Outrage
    -Earthquake
    -Flare Blitz

Flare Blitz doesn't really make sense, so here's a Flygon that does...

    Flygon @ Leftovers
    -Adaptability
    Bold/240 HP/200 Def/40 SAtk/24 Speed
    -Quiver Dance
    -Dragon Pulse
    -Substitute
    -Roost/Bug Buzz/Flamethrower

Ev's beat Starmie after 1 QD, Bug Buzz KO's if using. Reasonable staying power and great stab move backed by Adaptability. More SAtk/Speed if more offense desired.

Other than that, Contrary Victini with Dragon Claw anyone?

Smeargle @Focus Sash/Leftovers (depending on how you use it)
    Trait: Prankster
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)

As for moves, well, pick and choose.
    -Spore
    -Taunt
    -Confuse Ray
    -Recover
    -Substitute
    -Ingrain
    -Baton Pass
    -Shift Gear
-... Heck, pretty much any non-attacking move works.

Now that I think about it, just about any Dragon-type with Contrary or even Own Tempo would be broken. For example...

    Latios @Choice Scarf
    Trait: Contrary
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature (+Spe -Atk)
    -Draco Meteor
    -Psyshock
    -Surf/Thunder(bolt)/Hidden Power Fire
    -Trick/Hidden Power Fire

    or

    Kyurem-B @Choice Band
    Trait: Own Tempo
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Atk -SpA) or Jolly Nature (+Spe -SpA)
    -Outrage
    -Freeze Shock
    -Fusion Bolt
    -Dragon Claw

Since Dratini and Dragonair have snake shapes, why not? ;D

Mmmmmmm Hurricane Zapdos makes me salivate.

Archaos (Archeops) (M) @ Flying Gem
Trait: Perseverance - Doubles attack when HP is below 50%
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - U-turn
    - Acrobatics
    - Stone Edge
    - Earthquake

I know i kinda just made up that ability lol(sorry) but imagine if Archeops biggest weakness was turned into his deadliest trait, no longer is he crippled when bought down below half health, instead he turns into a ridiculous powerhouse, destroying everything with his speed and supreme coverage.

Gengar @ Black Sludge / Life Orb
    Trait: Levitate
    EVs: 252 Spe / 252 SpA / 4 HP
    Timid Nature (+Spe -Atk)

    -Shadow Ball
    -Nasty Plot
    -Focus Blast
    -Dark Void

    252SpAtk Life Orb +2 Gengar (Neutral) Focus Blast vs 252HP/0SpDef Leftovers Blissey (Neutral): 73% - 86% (524 - 618 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO.

    252SpAtk Life Orb +2 Gengar (Neutral) Focus Blast vs 252HP/252SpDef Leftovers Flash Fire Heatran (+SpDef): 121% - 143% (470 - 552 HP). Guaranteed OHKO.

    252SpAtk Life Orb +2 Gengar (Neutral) Focus Blast in Sandstorm vs 252HP/252SpDef Leftovers Tyranitar (+SpDef): 161% - 191% (652 - 772 HP). Guaranteed OHKO.

With Dark Void Gengar would easily find time to set up a nasty plot, at +2 Focus Blast will KO Blissey most of the time after Stealth Rocks and 1 layer of Spikes, easily OHKO max Special Defense Heatran and KO nearly 2 max Special Defense Tyranitar in the sand. This set would probably send Gengar to Ubers where it would never get used due to Darkrai obviously outclassing it so I am actually glad Gengar doesn't get these weapons as I can continue to happily enjoy using him in OU <3!

Can we refrain from posting made-up abilities? It makes the whole thing way too easy and rather silly. Worse than tacking Huge Power to stuff imo.

To give you guys an idea, here's one of the ability I so wish Mewtwo would have. Made-up of course.

    Mewtwo @ yourchoice
Trait: Wave Spread: Special attacks used by this pokemon also damage all other pokemon in target's team regardless of its position.

    Just imagine.

Seriously, I was just going to suggest V-Create Flareon and I see Delan's already done it...?

You know what'd be cool though? Shell Smash Blastoise. It gets Water Spout too. The sweeps...

    @Aurist
Gyarados still tops it. Or checks it, anyways, takes 45% tops from unboosted, 67% tops from +1 :P
And then 252 ATK Gyarados OHKOs back with Waterfall.
Volcarona's got a lot more coverage issues than just stuff like Heatran or Terrakion.

    How about:
    Smeargle @ Focus Sash
    Trait: Prankster
    Ev's: 252 Def, 252 Spe, 252 HP
    Jolly Nature (+Spd -SpA)
    - Whatever
    - You

    Omastar @ White Herb

    EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe
    Modest Nature
    - Shell Smash
    - Surf

From Bulbapedia: "Pokédex information indicates that Omastar would eat Shellder in the wild by cracking open their shells with sharp fangs and sucking out the insides."

    That just screams Giga Drain!

Sadly though, Spiritomb and Sableye would still counter the crap outta her. :(
