Fille suggested I make this thread and it seemed like a good idea so why not.

One of the easiest ways to make a new team is find a combination or core of 2-3 Pokemon you like and build around that. Use this thread to share and discuss good cores that can be used in the UU metagame. When posting your cores please include a brief description so everyone can get an idea of how it's supposed to work.

I'll start with a couple of my own examples.

    Snorlax (F) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Thick Fat
    EVs: 208 HP / 124 Def / 176 SDef
    Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
    - Sleep Talk
    - Rest
    - Crunch
    - Body Slam

    +

    Qwilfish (F) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Intimidate
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 Spd
    Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
    - Spikes
    - Poison Jab
    - Haze
    - Waterfall

    +

    Cofagrigus (F) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Mummy
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk
    Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
    - Trick Room
    - Shadow Ball
    - Hidden Power [Fighting]
    - Nasty Plot

This is one of my favourite cores in UU. It's pretty simple and easy to use. Snorlax beats almost every special attacker in the tier, Qwilfish lays spikes (along with Toxic Spikes if you need that) and beats the fighting types that give Snorlax problems, and Cofagrigus gives extra backup to fighting types, spinblocks and with Trick Room + Nasty plot it can become a potent offensive threat.

You could change the movesets a little if you like. For example you could give Snorlax whirlwind to stack up Spikes damage faster or give Qwilfish Thunder Wave to cripple fast Pokemon or Taunt to prevent slower Pokemon from setting up. Since this core lacks a Stealth Rock user you're going to want to find a Pokemon that can do that. Personally, I like Bronzong. It's a great mixed wall, has good defensive synergy with Qwilfish and is a fantastic counter to Flygon which can give the rest of the core trouble.

Here's another one I've used quite a bit:

    Kingdra (F) @ Life Orb
    Trait: Swift Swim
    EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Dragon Pulse
    - Draco Meteor
    - Rain Dance
    - Hydro Pump

    +

    Togekiss (F) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Serene Grace
    EVs: 120 HP / 252 SAtk / 136 Spd
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Air Slash
    - Roost
    - Fire Blast
    - Grass Knot

Having trouble with Chandelure but don't want to use Snorlax or Porygon2? Give this combo a try. Admittedly, it's not a perfect solution but it does put Chandelure in a tough spot and forces it to predict correctly to do any real damage. Kingdra has a 4X resistance to Fire Blast, while Togekiss is immune to Shadow Ball. Seeing as how most Chandelure are choiced, you can force it out quite easily with these Pokemon if you play it right. Both good wallbreakers, I don't think I need to explain how Rain Dance Kingdra works but you can check this post for more information on the Togekiss set. Special walls like Umbreon and Snorlax can be a little annoying if you get unlucky with Togekiss and don't flinch or Kingdra misses a Hydro Pump so I recommend using a strong fighting type such as Cobalion, Heracross or Mienshao here.

Kk, I'll start of with a defensive core I love so much :3

BonJournee (Slowbro) (M) @ Rocky Helmet
    Trait: Regenerator
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spd
    Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
    - Scald
    - Psychic/Psyshock
    - Fire Blast/Grass knot/Thunder wave/Calm mind/Toxic
    - Slack Off

    GrosEtMal (Registeel) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Clear Body
    EVs: 248 HP / 20 Def / 240 SDef
    Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
    - Stealth Rock
    - Seismic Toss
    - Protect
    - Toxic/Thunder wave

Slowbro is (And yes, I dare to say) the best physical wall in the tier. It's got a mediocre typing, but access to Scald, Slack off, Toxic and Thunder wave, and has the awesome ability Regenerator, which means it can take hits all day! With all the fire types running around the tier (Arcanine, Darmanitan, Victini, Rotom-H), it's a pretty good pokemon to have. I run Psychic instead of Psyshock to hit bulk up machamps harder, since after a while, psyshock won't be able to break it's sub, but Psychic also works for Virizions. It's typing allows it to take the Fighting and Fire types that Registeel hates. Fire blast is great for hitting grass type switch ins (Rotom-C, Shaymin), While grass knot can hit suicune/swampert/slowbros for decent damage. Toxic also works, helping alot in possible CM wars.
Registeel,, Being able to take the bug/grass/dark/ghost hits that Slowbro hates, and pretty much ever Electric type attack in the tier is really cool, at least I think so. It can also lure in pokemons like Arcanine/Rhyperior/Hitmontop for Slowbro to take advantage, getting free damage, spread some para or just set up! Registeel can also spread some status itself, which is awesome of course. This core alone would counter about 90% of the UU tier!

And if you want an Offensive one too:

Rebel (Mienshao) (M) @ Choice Scarf
    Trait: Reckless
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
    - Hi Jump Kick
    - U-turn
    - Stone Edge
    - Hidden Power [Ice]

Pure (Heracross) (M) @ Choice Band
    Trait: Guts
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Close Combat
    - Night Slash
    - Earthquake/Stone edge
    - Megahorn

Dual fighting core is my absolute favourite offensive core, and among the fighting cores, this is my favourite. Not only can scarfed Mienshao hit fast pokes hard, but also the walls (Eventhough it's not neccesarely needed!). HJK is obvious STAB, while Stone edge provides nice coverage. Hidden power ice is there for the annoying Gligar, which walls this core to hell and back,, and to hell again. The thing about this core is that one of the 2 pokes are going
to open holes in the opponents team for the other to sweep (Mienshao killing the faster threats, while Heracross can come in and clean the walls!). Heracross works really well since Megahorn/Night slash can hit the pokemons that Mienshao can't handle (Baring Gligar) as hard as neccesary, and with guts, it doesn't even mind a burn from Sableye/Dusclops/other ghost types! Mienshao definitely minds the burn, and this makes Heracross the perfect switch!

I hope these two will help someone, Fille out I guess~

That dual Fighting core looks interesting, although you're doubling up on weaknesses to Flying and Psychic. Think I'd use status Orb Heracross rather than Choice Band - more power, plus it can switch moves.

Status Orb gets worn down way too fast, the extra damage builds up faster than you might think. I would rather just use CB.

Band Heracross has to hope for status while being susceptible to Sleep. Status Orb Heracross gets the free boost, while being immune to other status. It does get worn down pretty quickly though, but as a short term battering ram status orb Heracross is in a class of its own.

Bandcross doesn't have to hope for status, it doesn't need status :P Sleep is not a problem, sleep clause ^^

And yes, it's in a class of its own, but is it a class higher up than band? ;)

Edit: Needs a new thread for Heracross discussion :3

I don't see why you'd use that over Amoonbro, or even Tanking. Zapdos and Raikou are big threats in the tier, and Shaymin/Virizion are around pretty frequently too.

Will edit with a combo of my own later

EDIT: I've used this combination on one of my teams with a pretty good deal of success.

    Mienshao (M) @ Choice Scarf
    Trait: Regenerator
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
    Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
    - Hi Jump Kick
    - U-turn
    - Hidden Power [Ice]
    - Stone Edge

Your standard Mienshao that hits hard with HJK. Regenerator was opted for over Reckless on my team, but if you have a spinner then go ahead and use Reckless. He likes to lure in ghosts but always U-turns out, which is a perfect set-up for:

    Krookodile (M) @ Choice Band
    Trait: Moxie
    EVs: 52 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 200 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Earthquake
    - Crunch
    - Pursuit
    - Aerial Ace/Stone Edge

Many people expect Scarfed Krook cause of its great use as a sweeping Moxie + revenge killer but I opted for a band solely to hit ghosts hard and hopefully eliminate them for Mienshao to sweep later. Aerial Ace hits Heracross on the switch but Stone Edge is probably more useful to hit Flying types. Crunch is used most of the time as some people won't switch out their Cofag or Dusclops attempting to WoW my Krook but even after the burn drop in attack Krook can sometimes finish up the ghost anyways because of Choice Band. Pursuit is for fleeing, frailer ghosts - Mismagius, Chandelure. Not sure how much it does to Golurk but it basically cripples if not KOs. It does have its flaws because it CAN become neutered with a WoW; Houndoom does the job more reliably, yes, but he was too frail for my liking.

Also the EVs look weird but 4 in Sp Def is to keep the Porys from their download boost and 200 speed outspeeds max speed Nidoking iirc. Max attack obviously and rest in HP.

(Also it's funny to see your CB Pursuit KO the Raikous who switch thinking you're scarfed)

I like this particular offensive core.

    Mismagius (F) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Levitate
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
    - Nasty Plot
    - Substitute
    - Shadow Ball
    - Thunderbolt / Hidden Power Fighting

    Bisharp (M) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Defiant
    EVs: 52 HP / 252 Atk / 204 Spe
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
    - Swords Dance
    - Substitute
    - Sucker Punch
    - Low Kick / Iron Head

Pretty basic stuff here. This core is two boosting sweepers, one hits from the physical side (Bisharp), and the other from the special (Mismagius). These two have good type synergy defensively, which, while the defense isn't the main idea here, one can come in on an attack the other fears, and use that to their advantage to get a boost and sweep. By this, Mismagius can come in on that Scarf Mienshao or Heracross attempting to destroy Bisharp, and get an NP and maybe even a Sub going, wheras Bisharp comes in on Dark and Ghost moves and grab the boost. Mismagius and Bisharp are both quite vicious after they get the boost going, and can sweep rather easily. Bisharp also shits on quite a few defensive cores with a Sub up and SD, and with Low Kick and Sucker Punch it owns. Mismagius has Shadow Ball, as well as T-bolt to put the hurt on bulky Water-types that trouble Bisharp, which is a very neat aspect to this core. However, HP Fighting can be used for better coverage and also to hurt the rather rare Krookodile, which would otherwise laugh at Mismagius should it have T-bolt. Bisharp can run Iron Head to hurt Heracross, but Low Kick is generally better. Not the greatest, but a very good offensive core from my experience. This core works well with Heracross, who can take out some things that trouble this core, particularly Scrafty, while Bisharp/Mismagius can easily handle things that prevent Heracross from getting his sweep going, such as Cofagrigus and Crobat.

Also have a nice defensive core that has worked me well.

    Dusclops (M) @ Eviolite
    Trait: Pressure
    EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SpD
    Impish Nature (+Def, -SpA)
    - Will-O-Wisp
    - Seismic Toss
    - Rest
    - Sleep Talk

    Umbreon (M) @ Leftovers
    Careful Nature (+SpD, -SpA)
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
    - Wish
    - Protect
    - Foul Play
    - Heal Bell

Dusclops and Umbreon form a strong defensive core that can check a very good portion of the metagame. These two have excellent defensive synergy and resist pretty much every type in the game together (hence, Trollbleye has no weaknesses, lol). Dusclops can handle the Fighting and Bug-type attacks Umbreon hates, while Umbreon takes Dark and Ghost-type moves that Dusclops is terrified of. Dusclops is a good physical wall, while Umbreon is good at taking special hits. Umbreon passes massive Wishes to Dusclops, while Heal Bell wakes Dusclops up from Rest. Dusclops can use Will-O-Wisp to cripple physical attackers to help Umbreon take onslaughts more easily. Synchronize and Pressure are both good abilities that help stall well. These two also provide qualities that help a team, particularly Umbreon being a cleric and WishPasser to keep the team healthy, while Dusclops can spinblock, and with his huge bulk, takes literally nothing from the Spinning Trio. This is good for keeping hazards on the field. This core gets shit on by Scrafty (but that thing wrecks everything, so lol), as well as Specs Chandelure to an extent, but that can be solved with the use of something like Milotic or Blastoise, the latter even providing spin support to prevent this core from being worn down, or even Scarf Heracross if you're willing to use an offensive Pokemon with this core. Yet again, I like this core 'cause it checks a nice portion of the metagame.

EDIT: Wow, Windblown that core looks really cool. Oughtta try that sometime.

A combo I'd like to mention: Yanmerior. It's an offensive team.

    +
    [IMG]

One smashes holes in the other team, the other clears up what's left. Both can do either role. Example:

    Yanmega @ Choice Specs
    Trait: Tinted Lens
    Modest Nature
    EVs: 4 Def, 252 SAtk, 252 Spd
    Bug Buzz
    Air Slash
    U-Turn
    Sleep Talk

Thanks to Tinted Lens, Yanmega can just click Bug Buzz without worrying, since only Cobalion and Chandelure X4 resist it. Air Slash does heavy damage to those Pokemon. U-Turn is for scouting. Sleep Talk may seem weird, but since Tinted Lens Yanmega doesn't need coverage moves it actually works well. Plus, you don't have to sacrifice one of your Pokemon to Amoongus's Spore. EVs maximise power and speed. Don't run Timid nature - Yanmega needs all the power it can get.

Then, once Yanmega's done its work, in comes Rhyperior.

    Rhyperior @ Life Orb
    Trait: Solid Rock
    Jolly Nature
    EVs: 60 HP, 252 Atk, 196 Spd
    Rock Polish
    Earthquake
    Stone Edge
    Fire Punch/Megahorn/Ice Punch

Rock Polish allows Rhyperior to overcome its usual speed issues. At +2 with this spread, it outruns 252 Spd Timid Azelf. EdgeQuake gets STAB, and 95% of the time is all Rhyperior will need. Fire Punch hits Bronzong and Virizion; Megahorn hits Shaymin and Slowbro; Ice Punch hits Flygon and Gligar.

    The other way round...

    Rhyperior @ Choice Band
    Trait: Solid Rock
    Adamant Nature
    EVs: 96 HP, 252 Atk, 160 Spd
    Earthquake
    Stone Edge
    Megahorn
    Ice Punch

POWER! With that high attack power and STAB EdgeQuake, Rhyperior is a formidable Choice Band user. Since it resists Stealth Rock, it can switch in and out fairly easily. Earthquake and Stone Edge get STAB. Megahorn OHKOs 252/0 Shaymin and Slowbro. Ice Punch OHKOs Flygon and 2HKOs Gligar (OHKOs after 2 rounds of Stealth Rock).

Then once Rhyperior's done its job...

    Yanmega @ Life Orb
    Trait: Speed Boost
    Modest Nature
    EVs: 4 Def, 252 SAtk, 252 Spd
    Protect
    Air Slash
    Bug Buzz
    Hidden Power Ground

Protect guarantees a +1 speed boost. Air Slash and Bug Buzz get STAB, and do huge damage to anything that doesn't resist them. Hidden Power Ground takes care of the grounded Steel types that do. EVs maximise speed and power. Don't bother running a Timid Nature. At +2 Modest Yanmega already outruns Scarf Raikou, the fastest thing you'll normally face in UU.

Rhyperior takes out the Fire and Rock types Yanmega hates; Yamega takes out the Grass and Fighting types Rhyperior hates. They get good synergy together, although they share an Ice weakness. Give it a try.

    Zapdos @ Life Orb
    Trait: Pressure
    EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Thunderbolt
    - Hidden Power [Ice]
    - Heat Wave
    - Roost

    +

    Raikou @ Life Orb
    Trait: Pressure
    EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
    Rash Nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
    - Calm Mind
    - Thunderbolt
    - Hidden Power [Grass]
    - Aura Sphere

this is a pretty simple "overload specific counters" kind of deal. zapdos and raikou are both pretty scary mons unless your opponent has Swampert, SDef Rhyperior, or Snorlax/Umbreon, Raikou in this case is tailored to outright beat the first two and severely damage the latter two (actually it beats some umbreon 1v1 which is pretty cool) allowing zapdos to come in and wreck some faces with it's superior coverage.

I'll post the most effective offensive core I've ever come up with. Its definitely less elegant, in terms of offensive synergy, but the most powerful combo I've ever found in terms of brute strength.

    Tornadus (M) @ Damp Rock
    Trait: Prankster
    EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
    Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
    - Rain Dance
    - Hurricane
    - Taunt
    - Superpower

Basically all this guy does is set up 8 turns of rain, and then spams Hurricanes until it dies. Taunt is to prevent recovery from bulky waters and special walls, which Kingdra needs weakened. Superpower hits most special walls pretty hard, helping rip holes for Kingdra. But mostly this guy just sets up the rain, with Prankster guaranteeing a full 8 turns in any situation.

    Kingdra (F) @ Choice Specs
    Trait: Swift Swim
    EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Surf
    - Hydro Pump
    - Draco Meteor
    - Dragon Pulse

THE BOSS. This guy will sweep an unprepared team without second thought. If you've done your job early and mid-game, all you need to do is click Surf repeatedly to win.

However, Kingdra does need proper team support to win. Spikes support allows him to net some crucial Ohko's, and he generally needs bulky waters, grass types, and special walls like Snorlax and Pory2 somewhat weakened. Draco Meteor is if you ever decide to use Kingdra mid-game, but this should generally be avoided if possible. Dragon pulse is the more spammable Dragon stab late game, Hydro Pump is for sheer power and Surf is there for reliability. You could run Ice Beam for grasses but I've never felt the need. Modest allows for maximum power, and only misses out on +Speed Scarf Azelf and Raikou which are lol.

Like I said, this combo isn't the most elegant in terms of defensive/offensive synergy. However, the combination of Prankster guaranteeing that rain will be up, and the amazing strength of Specs Kingdra, is so potent I thought it deserved to be mentioned. The number of games (and important ones, too) this combo has won for me is ridiculous, and I hope to see more of it around.

    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Volt Switch
    - Will-O-Wisp
    - Leaf Storm
    - Trick

    +

    Flygon @ Yache Berry
    Trait: Levitate
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Outrage
    - Earthquake
    - Fire Punch / Stone Edge / Dragon Claw / Etc.
    - U-Turn

On a balanced offensive oriented team of mine, I run this core - alongside Crustle and NP Misdrevus (and SD Coba + PhazeSpin Blastoise.)
As unconventional as Yache Flygon is, it works well.
Sometimes, I give it a tiny bit of HP for things like Scarf Mienshao's HJK after rocks (or two rock switch-ins.)
Scarf Rotom-C synergies with it to break through teams, with hazards, Of course.
Then, the sweepers come in and do what they do best - Sweep!

    EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Spd
    Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
    - Stealth Rock
    - Seismic Toss
    - Rest
    - Toxic

Amazing 3-mon defensive core. Just put 3 more offensive Pokes with good synergy and you're good to go.
Watch out for non-choiced heracross so put something like Raikou or Zapdos to kill them off.

I also like Cofag/Umbreon/Registeel/Qwilfish. Almost unbreakable.

well, I got a core from my POYT r5 team, which worked out REALLY well for me <3 It's actually 2 LU pokes, but since Nidoking/Flygon is around, it works really well in UU!

Sir Glaciate (Cryogonal) @ Life Orb
    Trait: Levitate
    EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Ice Beam
    - Hidden Power [Ground/Fire/Fighting]
    - Recover
    - Rapid Spin

Theresa (Nidoqueen) (F) @ Life Orb
    Trait: Sheer Force
    EVs: 136 HP / 252 SAtk / 120 Spd
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Earth Power
    - Ice Beam
    - Fire Blast
    - Stealth Rock

Offensive Cryogonal?? With Rapid spin? Forget the nicknames, Cryogonal works really well with Nidoqueen, seeing that it can take the Ground/Ice moves aimed at Nidoqueen, and retaliate with STAB LO Ice beam. Cryogonal outspeeds all the Ground types in the metagame (Except scarfed Flygon/Nidoking, which has to switch out), and does a shitton of damage to them. Of course, Rhyperior won't stay in on nidoqueen anyways, but stuff like Flygon/Nidoking/Nidoqueen/Zapdos/Swampert might try to hurt it. Swampert is kinda troublesome, but shit happens I guess :P If it worries you, go for Hp grass! :))))))))

Cool core, outghtta try that. (might use bisharp to take care of flygon locked into Outrage.)

Anyways, here's a really good core that I really like using.

    601.png

Zoroark (M) @ Choice Specs / Life Orb
    Trait: Illusion
    EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
    - Dark Pulse
    - Flamethrower
    - Focus Blast / Grass Knot
    - Trick / Nasty Plot

    214.png

    Heracross (M) @ Choice Scarf
    Trait: Moxie
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Jolly Nature
    - Megahorn
    - Close Combat
    - Stone Edge
    - Earthquake / Night Slash

This is another good example of a Dark / Fighting core, although it works quite well. This takes full advantage of Zoroark's Illusion disguise and Heracross's sweeping prowess. The idea here is to put Heracross at the back of the party, and have Zoroark come out disguised as Hera and fool the opponent. The selling point to this is that Zoroark takes care of almost all of Heracross's common counters! Cofagrigus and Dusclops will fall to Specs/NP boosted Dark Pulse, Gligar is either Tricked or 2HKO'd by Pulse, same applies to Nidoqueen and Qwilfish, and vice versa. The two also have decent defensive synergy, so that Azelf of theirs might try to Psyshock you, only to fall to Dark Pulse. From there, Heracross, with his counters out of the way, can use Scarf+Moxie to just plow the team down. Another selling point is that both take full damage from Spikes and are neutral to Stealth Rock, so hazard damage will never give the disguise away. This is a really good core overall.

    Qwilfish@Leftovers
    Intimidate
    Impish, 252HP/252DEF/4SPEED
    - Spikes
    - Toxic Spikes
    - Waterfall
    - Taunt

    197.png
    Umbreon@Leftovers
    Synchronize
    Calm, 252HP/252SPDEF/4SPEED
    - Wish
    - Protect
    - Heal Bell
    - Foul Play

With Frosslass banned from UU good hazard users are hard to come by. Qwilfish however can check the powerful Mienshao and Heracross and use them as setup fodder for Spikes and Toxic Spikes. He also works great as a switch in against Victini and Darmanitan which are huge threats. Qwilfish will force the opponent to switch to something that can quickly dispose of him like Zapdos or Raikou, as otherwise you can setup alot of Spikes. Then after getting a layer up, you can just switch to Umbreon who can keep Qwilfish healthy with Wish and Heal Bell and lure in Fighting types like Mienshao/Heracross. Then you can just go back to Qwilfish and stack layer after layer of Spikes. Taunt will prevent other users of Spikes or Stealth Rock to setup with you. It's a duo with great utility and they complement each others strengths very well and check a good portion of the UU metagame.

    @Fille i'm likin that Cryogonal Nickname ;)

One of the most effective wall cores i've found is:

    207.png
Dark Knight (Gligar) (M) @ Eviolite
    Trait: Immunity
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
    Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
    - Stealth Rock
    - Roost
    - U-turn
    - Earthquake

    143.png
    Laxi (Snorlax) (F) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Thick Fat
    EVs: 252 HP / 76 Atk / 172 SDef / 8 Spd
    Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
    - Rest
    - Sleep Talk
    - Body Slam
    - Crunch
    009.png
    Turtok (Blastoise) (M) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Torrent
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Roar
    - Foresight
    - Rapid Spin
    - Scald

Gligar can take on almost all physical attackers, most importantly fighting attacks for Snorlax. It's Water and Ice weaknesses are covered by Blastoise or Snorlax depending on what side of the spectrum they are coming from. Blastoise can also take Some of the most powerful hits in the tier that Gligar fails to take, like CB Darm's Flare Blitz and CB Victini's V-Create, and also keep hazards off the field to allow for lots of switches. Snorlax and Gligar can absorb electric attacks for blastoise, and Snorlax can just sponge special attacks in general.

    Revival

    82.png

    Magneton @ Eviolite
    Trait: Magnet Pull
    EVs: 212 HP / 120 SpA / 176 Spe
    Modest Nature
    - Substitute
    - Magnet Rise
    - Thunderbolt
    - Hidden Power [Ice]

    651.png

    Druddigon @ Choice Band
    Trait: Mold Breaker
    EVs; 152 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 100 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Outrage
    - Earthquake
    - Sucker Punch
    - Dragon Claw

These two make a great core. Magneton+Druddigon is a legit strategy, as Magneton can trap and kill Bronzong with a SubRise set making sure it does nothing. It also wears down Empoleon, Escavalier, and Bisharp and if it's behind a Sub can nail Durant and Cobalion. Magneton does well with Druddigon, as after it removes the Steels, Druddigon destroys the hell out of everything, making the tier cringe with an Outrage off of 120 Attack (with a CB). It hits obscenely hard, and also has a useful defensive typing. With Steels out and the resistances, Druddigon will very rarely fail to achieve at least one KO per game. Overall a great core; give it a swing.

Ok, so seeing that ScraftyIsTheBest revived this thread:

My wife (Weezing) (F) @ Rocky Helmet
    Trait: Levitate
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SAtk
    Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
    - Pain Split
    - Will-O-Wisp
    - Thunderbolt
    - Fire Blast

I hate Gligar, so this is the pookemon I use over him. It counters all the fighting types that threatens Blissey, and is a great pokemon otherwise, with the ability to burn pokemons, and get a BoltBlast combo!

    Bitchy (Blissey) (F) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Natural Cure
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
    Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
    - Wish
    - Protect
    - Heal Bell
    - Shadow Ball

Heracross, Mienshao, Scrafty, Virizion, Cobalion? Weezing takes them all, so thhat this thing can take on all the special hits that Weezing can't take! Really good special wall, a great way to deal with chandelure! :D

Kirby Wall (Rhyperior) (M) @ Rindo Berry
    Trait: Solid Rock
    EVs: 248 HP / 28 Atk / 232 Def
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Stealth Rock
    - Rock Blast
    - Earthquake
    - Megahorn / Protect / Dragon tail / Roar

Lets see, what threatens WeezBliss? Fire types, Darmanitan, Victini...! Rhyperior is a great way of dealing with them! :D Hmmh, lets see, what else? I need rox, check! I need a way to deal with Honchkrow/Crobat, check! I need a counter to the Electric Cat, which sets up on Blissey, check! The filler all depends on the team!

I love this core, and I've used it on a fairly succesful team of mine, which was really hillarious in my opinion!

The WeezBliss core is also known as Bitchy wife core, seeing that I'm the only one using it currently :P

    Threat list:

Azumarill does a number on Weezing and Blissey, and OHKOs Rhyperior!

Bisharp got nice STABs, and sets up :c

    Mixed victini is a bitch!

A new core I thought of: Cobalenus That sounded better in my head...

    Reuniclus @ Life Orb
    Trait: Magic Guard
    Quiet Nature (+SAtk -Spd)
    EVs: 192 HP, 64 Def, 252 SAtk
    Trick Room
    Psychic
    Focus Blast
    Shadow Ball

    Cobalion @ Life Orb
    Trait: Justified
    Jolly Nature (+Spd -SAtk)
    EV: 252 Atk, 4 Def, 252 Spd
    Swords Dance
    Close Combat
    Iron Head
    Zen Headbutt

Cobalion busts through Snorlax and Blissey so Reuniclus can sweep unchecked. It also X4 resists the Dark and Bug moves Reuinclus draws, using the former to give it a nice +1 Attack boost. In turn Reuinclus resists the Fighting moves Cobalion moves, and can use them to set up Trick Room. It's a nice core that works really well. I hope Reuinclus doesn't get banned - it's so much fun to use!

    Umbreon (F) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Synchronize
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
    Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
    - Foul Play
    - Wish
    - Protect
    - Heal Bell

    Crobat (F) @ Black Sludge
    Trait: Inner Focus
    EVs: 176 HP / 192 Atk / 4 SDef / 136 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Brave Bird
    - Taunt
    - U-turn
    - Roost

    Blastoise (M) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Torrent
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
    Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
    - Roar
    - Foresight
    - Scald
    - Rapid Spin

This is a very solid base to start with when creating a bulky offense/balanced team.

Umbreon is an excellent team supporter in UU. It can pass wishes to team mates, heal their status and Foul Play makes it difficult for most physical attackers to use it as set up bait. Obviously, Umbreon's main weakness is fighting types which is where Crobat comes in, it can check pretty much every fighting type in the tier and since the most common ones are usually choiced (Heracross/Mienshao) protect helps ease predictions. Crobat is also one of the best answers to Shaymin which can beat Umbreon with a lucky special defense drop from Seed Flare and it doesn't even need that if it's a subseed set, since that beats Umbreon flat out.

Blastoise is just here to spin mostly. Crobat can get worn down pretty quickly if Stealth Rock is up so keeping them off the field is very beneficial. As for the moveset, I use Foresight most of the time to give me a near guaranteed spin, but you could run Toxic, Ice Beam or even Rest over it. They're all viable options. Roar, Rapid Spin and Scald are all must haves though, at least in my opinion.

Main problems for this core are strong fire types that can muscle past Blastoise such as CB Victini / LO Darm, Specs Chandelure which can 2HKO Umbreon and Togekiss. Rhyperior can help cover all of these things so it makes for a very good partner.

Overall, this is a nice core that can cover much of the UU tier. Give it a try!
