==General== - balanced 120 stats, can work as a wall and offensive - normal is a pretty good typing as you dont face really much fighting in this metagame and have STAB Espeed - impressive movepool ==Choice Band== Arceus@Choice Band 252 hp / 252 atk / 4 sp def Adamant (+atk -spatk) - Extreme Speed - Brick Break - Trick - Bullet Seed/Shadow Force - Extreme Speed gives you priority and strong STAB in one move. Its, most of the time, the move of choice against anything that doesnt resist it - Brick Break is against Tyranitar (1HKO) and other Arceus (offensive: 2HKO, defensive: 3HKO). NOT for Darkrai, because it puts your lovely arceus to sleep before it can use Brick Break. - Trick is for crippling walls - Bullet Seed/Shadow Force are fillers: Bullet Seed gives you good damage against bulky kyogre (252 spd/sp atk is 2HKOed by Espeed, bulkier variants 3HKOed / 2HKOed by Bullet Seed in most cases), Shadow Force gives you a powerful move against Arceus-Ghost. ==Other Options== - Replacing Trick with another coverage move: cannot cripple walls any more ==Checks and Counters== - Darkrai survives Extreme Speed and puts Arceeus to sleep. wins if arcues doesnt wake up on the second turn - Deoxys-A can 2HKO with superpower and extreme speed _________________________________________________________________________ ==Wall== Arceus@ leftovers/Zap Plate 252 hp / 196 atk/sp atk / 60 sp def (+ sp def / - sp atk/atk) -Magic Coat -Recover -Will-o-Wisp -Extreme Speed/Judgment (with Zap Plate) - This set counters Darkrais, physical attackers (such as Band Arceus and Deoxys-A as well as most special attackers (because of the special bulk) - Magic coat is really useful against threats such as darkrai. when darkrai uses dark void and you use magic coat, darkrai will be put to sleep and you can kill it - Will-o-Wisp in combination with Recover cripples physical sweepers - Extreme Speed is for doing damage (obviously) - You can use Zap Plate for getting more resistances, being neutral to brick break, which really is an advantage, but then you lose the recovery from leftovers ==Other Options== - replacing magic coat with sleep talk: works even better against darkrais but not against other pokes ==Checks and Counters== - bulky Kyogre can set up on you (normal Arceus) and kill with the appropriate move - If an opponent knows your set he can just use attacks to bring you down (both) __________________________________________________________________________ ==Spookceus== Arceus @ Spooky Plate 252 hp / 252 atk / 4 sp def Adamant ( + atk/ - sp atk) - Extreme Speed - Magic Coat/Recover - Brick Break - Shadow Force - immune to Normal-moves (Extreme Speed) - Shadow Force deals massive damage as it has a base power of 120 + STAB and the opponent cant switch - Brick Break is for coverage (e.g. for other Arceus/Ttar) - Extreme Speed finishes off weakened foes - Magic Coat is there for protecting Arceus from status and bouncing it back to the foe (e.g. Darkrai's Dark Void) ==Other Options== - replace Magc Coat with Recover: gives Arceus a good recovery option but it is vulnerable to status attacks ==Checks and Counters== - bulky Kyogre: can set up on you while arceus is in the first turn of shadow force - Darkrai: deals massive damage with dark pulse - Protect: hinders it to use shadow force _________________________________________________________________________________ ==Fighting== Arceus@Fist Plate 252 hp / 252 sp atk / 4 sp def Modest - Calm Mind - Ice Beam - Judgment - Recover - Hits Arceus normal, Darkrai very hard due to Judgment being Fighting, having a basepower of 100 and being STAB - Calm Mind can help breaking stallers - Recover is for recovery (yeah, really!) after some CMs ==Other Options== - replace Calm Mind with Magic Coat: better chances against Darkrai, less chances against walls ==Checks and Counters== - Darkrai beats arceus not having Magic coat - strong special walls beat arceus not having Calm Mind - Medicham has a 2HKO chance with Zen Headbutt + Fake Out
Ghost Arceus deserves a mention for not being hit by Extremespeed. Maybe something like this: Arceus (Arceus-Ghost) @ Spooky Plate Trait: Multitype EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - ExtremeSpeed - Magic Coat/Recover - Brick Break - Shadow Force Extremespeed for priority, Shadow Force because they cannot switch and it has 120 base power + STAB, Brick Break for coverage, Magic Coat to try to hit Darkrai with one of its own Dark Voids otherwise Recover for obvious reasons. Also on your first set 4 Special Def>4 Def to prevent Genesect from getting a Special Attack boost.
You could also mention Refresh in other options, it really helps against giratina a or o's will o wisp
I used CB to get #1 quite a while ago but I didn't run Trick. It was Force/Speed/Break/EQ. Probably worth a slash, over Seed anyway.
What about grassceus. It's pretty popular as a kyogre counter. Recover/Calm Mind/Judgement/Espeed If I remember right. Max Def iv's and Max HP or atk if I remember.
Regular Arceus already does okay against Kyogre as it can 2hko with a banded Extremespeed and not be 1HKO'd in return.
Arceus Fight needs analysis Remove Magic Coat and Leftovers on Arceus normal w/ WoW, put SD and Lum berry on.
but it's not like "cripple my enemy and sweep", it's like "cripple my enemy." if you run WoW with SD, it seems irrelevant, you should just use coverage instead, coverage which Arceus badly needs in the form of break/claw
SD lets it break through things like CM arceus forms and Lugia (even ho-oh) You aren't beating Arceus-Ghost anyway with +0 Shadow Force or Claw, and BB is incredibly weak
The set I'm surprised not to see mentioned: ==E-killer== Arceus@ Normal Gem - Extremespeed - Sword Dance - Shadow Force Not sure what goes in the fourth moveslot as I've only played against it, and I only know that with the EVs the speed EVs leave it lower than the max speed of lugia. Experience tells me it can be very tough to play against.
Give Outrage a mention for the Choice Banded set as it's your best move to hit Giratina with. Normal Gem could use a mention however Life Orb/Lum Berry usually outclass it.
I think some Arceus sets need to be added to the wiki... I don't use it apart from the set below which I'll add analysis for but it really needs to be added since Arceus is so standard, as should Kyogre and Darkrai be added to the wiki, as they're the 3 Pokémon that really are the core of the metagame atm. I'll also get to Kyurem-W and Kyurem-B analyses, but it must be noted that despite their awesome base stats and good typing because of their movepool they're usually s**t, though I understand someone may have a good set for them.. My Arceus set (working with Raz slightly for inspiration too) Arceus @ Normal Gem Trait: Multitype EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Cosmic Power - Sleep Talk - Last Resort - Recover The alternative set is ring target with trick/recover/last resort/cosmic power, but that's only to defeat Giratina. Hopefully this set should be fairly self-evident as how it functions, EVs should be set up to minimise damage from other Arceuses, Darkrais, etc. Haven't used this competitively very much yet, but I think it's a viable set, though not a main set. We really need to start getting 1v1 ubers on the wiki before the metagame truly just dies.
iBlue hasn't been on the forums in months while both KM007 and Slowkii have been banned feel free to take over their analyses. As to that set I really don't like it you have no coverage meaning you are automatically losing to to Arceus Ghost and Giratina you also have Sleep Talk with no Rest which is unlikely to save you from Darkrai (you can't use Last Resort until you get lucky enough to Sleep Talk the other two moves) you're also extremely susceptible to Status most things using Will-o-Wisp and Toxic will beat this easily furthermore it's a slow set that requires at least 3 turns before you start attacking anything with a boosting move such as Nasty Plot/Swords Dance will likely win.
Ah well, it was sort of a gimmick set.. I think since I have some free time the next coupe of days I might start sorting these analyses + speaking with the other main decent 1v1 and 1v1 ubers players I've encountered, and see what sets they use
