Unless I receive the II's entry in the next 24 hours, they will be disqualified from the competition. PM me it on forum.
All 4 themes have been added to the channel. They will stay up there till Wednesday. Just to clarify - Wacky Werewolves made VGV Deadly Dons made Transport Insane Inspectors made Eclipse Skillful Samurais made Themeless Feel free to comment on all themes here!
I have to say, I like transport alot. Themeless seemed a little one-side OP, and still trying to understand VGV and Eclipse. Otherwise, nice job everyone! :D (If I'm not allowed to post here sorry, I saw Feg's post up there and think it means erryone)
Video game villians All the villians of video games are grouped on different sides. Village Random and one other I can't rememer. Simple
ATTENTION CREATORS OF VGV (19:51:35) ±Game: You are a Miles Edgesworth! (19:51:35) ±Game: Objection! That silly Phoenix Wright has nothing on you. As a prosecutor, you can type /object [name] to shut them up for one night! You can also use /investigate [name] once every two nights to find out what they did. I could investigate every night.
So far, here's what I think of the themes Transport: My theme, so it was clear to me. Seemed to work fine. Squad Car's reveal fixed Themeless: A little bit of help info would be nice so that players have guidance. Otherwise, it seems to be good. Very interesting, at least VGV: Seemed fine. I posted the issue with my help text as Miles, but no other problems I see. Had trouble figuring out the logic behind sides. Didn't seem to have Eclipse: Same issue as ROTK 1, too many confusing names. Random names for roles make it VERY hard to learn. Other than that, people seem to like it.
After reading all the themes' codes, I'm keeping this. I could change to II = DD > WW >= SS, but whatever. But I agree with Not L, Eclipse could use simpler names and help descriptions, but it sounds like an interesting and solid theme. Transport is fine too. Interesting concept and OKish~good implementation. Themeless is too defaultish IMO (even if it has some interesting ideas). Also, you can clearly tell it was rushed. VGV sounds a bit too random (concept, characters, actions, sides, etc). Can't get a feeling of a solid theme there. But well, I only actually played Transport. I could be wrong on those comments, since they are mostly based on what I saw in the code. And I think I found code errors in all themes, so I'm not bothering with pointing them now. I may do that once the contest is over (or not).
Can you keep the OP updated with the most recent info? It would be cool to just open the thread and see: "<team name> <members> <theme name + link to code>" eventually with some sort of marker for whichever team won, without having to read through page 3 of the thread to see the theme names and /themeinfo on the server to find the code.
Transport: My favorite, Squad needs to be fixed but otherwise.... Themeless: Confusing, I couldn't tell which sides are which. VGV: Haven't played yet. Eclipse: Horace is too overpowered. Favorite so far is transport.
Horace is not OP in the least. He's an inspector that can samurai kill. That's the same thing as a ton of other themes out there. @Below: I was think of Twilight Sparkle from FiM particularly. However, i'll give you that he might be a bit more powerful in the context of the theme. Twilight has to be wary of Discord and Changeling as soon as she can daykill, but Horace doesn't have to worry until Skoll all the way up at 20 players. If we find Horace is that big of a problem (imo he's usually lucky with Mina not dying and finding the bad guys), well do some adjusting with the roles lists.
Such as? All that comes to mind are Plutonium and Altair. Plutonium is a solo role, and Altair is so fragile. It's just my opinion that he's too OP.
In my opinion, Eclipse = Transport > Themeless = VGV (because the simple rating is better). Eclipse is confusing but works well and it's pretty good, while Transport is less confusing and has neat ideas, but has a few more balance issues like Eclipse.
Honestly, I think Horace is really fun. The only time I played the theme i was him, and the daykill thing won my team the game. It depends on when people are discovered is when this role gets overpowered or not. Anyways: 1. Eclipse 2. VGV 3. Themeless (I was confused) Still havent played Transport, but it sounds fun
N. give it more day kills in smaller games to get them over with faster along with changing the ticks to 15 each
considering OP doesn't have links if anyone's interested and lazy Insane Inspectors: Eclipse Deadly Dons: Transport Skillful Samuras :]: Themeless Wacky Werewolves: VGV btw (22:59:22) Times Up! : (22:59:22) ±Game: After obey to kyubey had made a valient attempt to not get on the ballot for the City's population reduction list, they didn't just get on to the ballot, they won the whole election with 2 votes, thus bringing the life of a Z Goon to an end. (22:59:22) ±Game: (22:59:22) ±Game: The Town (Jiggles) lose!
After reading the pastebins I have to say this. VGV & Transport( I like them both equally and I helped MAKE Video game villians) > Eclipse(now that I understand it it is quite cool but flavor needs more)> Themeless(sorry but it could have better flavor, basically to defaultish in flavor. A city. A town. Ya know.)
Well the theme's name is themeless, flavour isn't really what matters imo; it's the people's choice though and admittedly we had it slightly messed up in the beginning
IMO, flavour simply shouldn't take priority over gameplay. That doesn't mean it can be completely ignored.
We didn't quite ignore it, we're just on the "down with flavour importance" wagon. Of course it could be something nice, but if nothing fit to how the theme works, it's no end of the world. And saying a theme is bad due to lack of flavour is foolish imo (again, imo)
I see your proposition, but you just simply didn't put it in Size 7 like I have, making your opinion, less important.
Considering you guys defined winmsgs but left a rather empty string, it is a bad thing. Spoiler "sides": [ { "side": "village", "translation": "Town", "winmsg": "±Game: " }, { "side": "y", "translation": "Y", "winmsg": "±Game: " }, { "side": "z", "translation": "Z", "winmsg": "±Game: " }, { "side": "t", "translation": "Toxics", "winmsg": "±Game: " }, { "side": "c", "translation": "Identity Thief", "winmsg": "±Game: " }
It's funny because we created and entire fantasy world with the flavour and devoted a few sentences to each role, while the other themes have comparatively little. People have actually told us to make the descriptions shorter. Not going to rank because obvious bias.
I dont like themes that are so... townish, it's always a town no matter what, generic or not. Gets boring. Transport has VEHICLES which is NEAT. VGV has VILLIANS WHO ARE AWESOME!
I'm not gonna rank just yet since I'd like to play more of each of these, but I will say that I'm seriously impressed with all of these themes. You guys used some clever mechanics in these and it shows that you guys put a lot of thought and work into this, so kudos and our thanks for giving the channel four more interesting themes to play.
a poll.... should people be allowed to vote their own theme or not because wacky werewolves has less people than the other teams.
