Tbh Gengar has high SAtk etc... but Shadow Tag is so good that Sub Disable looks like a waste to me, Destiny Bond Shadow Ball Sludge Bomb (Yes forget DragMag because now there will be DragGar!) Focus Blast sounds better EDIT: I'd like details about Parental Bond, I mean regular damage on both attacks? It could be funny with Power Up Punch if legal (double boost right?)
The first hit is full power and the second hit is 30%. Both hits can crit and moves like Power-Up Punch do boost twice.
Snowbelle city's music HNNNNNNNNNG Also kanga getting a SD and attack at the same time? Not bad, parental bond is looking to be very strong.
After toying around with some sets in the gen 6 alpha, I found some fun stuff to use. -Mega Kanga is insanely strong, but Mega Lucario can revenge it easily. -Mega Mewtwo Y = LO Mewtwo in terms of usefulness -Mega Mewtwo X is pretty good with the only common physical walls being weak to Ice Punch/Drain Punch -Power herb Xerneas can give E-Killer a run for its money as a push da button and die cleaner -Yveltal is surprisingly effective. Oblivion Wing + Hurricane + Dark Pulse + Filler makes a great LO/Scarf/Specs set. It's really versatile and Oblivion Wing is even better than it initially looks. -If Mega Gengar goes uber it wont be particularly effective. - Fariyceus is probably going to take Steelceus's place as third best Arceus form.
Serebii now has complete base stat tables for both Gen 6 Pokémon and Mega Evolutions --- http://www.serebii.net/xy/pokemon.shtml (this one has certain differences with the base stats speculated by Smogon). Mega Pinsir looks very promising with great Attack and Speed, and a 105 BP STAB in the form of Aerilated Return. Also, two strange Serebii updates, listed under Pokémon XY - Day 7 coverage: Spoiler "It seems that, based on the backgrounds in battle, you have the ability to dislodge items such as berries and stones if you use powerful enough moves. We'll work on this as time comes" "15:19: There are reports that the base stats of various Pokémon have been altered. We're investigating"[/HIDE] The second one especially worries me.
Dunno if that'll make it OU. It'll still have to contend with Smeargle for a team slot, and Smeargle can do a lot more. Sure, I guess Galv has more offensive potential than Smeargle, and Volt Switch too, but I dunno about OU...
Even if it doesn't go to OU, it'll at least rise to UU most likely. Sticky web is going to be really interesting, just checking here, the only confirmed pokemon that get it so far are Galvantula Smeargle Ariados Is that correct? Ariados might get some use in NU finally, doubtful it'll get much use in any tier beyond that however. Smeargle might go to OU and galvantula to UU. That's all I can see from the new moves affect on these pokemon. Also, is Flareon+flare blitz confirmed? If yes, YES. if no, NOO :[
It beats most spinners/Magic Mirror 'Mons that try to keep it off the field with its STAB. It's faster than Smeargle and gets it up and keeps it up far more reliably. I know for sure if I were to have a choice I'd pick Galv. Also, I heard someone got a Contrary Snivy somewhere. Can't confirm or anything, but if Contrary Serp is legal then we can finally let it out of NU (Not to mention it sort of counters Sticky Web).
Galvantula has nice Spd and STABs like Thunder (nerfed but still strong), Volt Switch and Bug Buzz Tbh it sounds like the best user of that move in higher tiers maybe together with Smeargle but without being a set up bait I totally agree with the post above!!
Galvantula is an underrated Pokemon in LU currently, and with adding a hazard that lowers speed (with it's great speed tier that ties the muskateers and Infernape) that helps sweeping teams, there should at some point see a rise in it's use. I've been messing around on alpha server with sash Ariados with sticky web as a lead, because almost no one there is running a spinner (and cross poison does 70% to those xernas) that sweeping is made a whole lot easier after sticky web is down. Now while that doesn't translate to actual metagame play, it's a Pokemon with several offensive variants that can deal some big damage to a fair amount of Pokemon pre-gen 6. Though it lacks the pure power to actually dent things, a compoundeyes Thunder will mess a team up if something gets paralyzed. Chance it rises just based off this move and how effective it becomes in the metagame is pretty high to make it an early contender for an OU/UU spot when we get a full tiering set.
I thought Shuckle was also confirmed to get it. Not like it matters since OU. About the changes in base stats, many people believe Wigglytuff has a SpA buff, and Pikachu got a buff in its defenses. Calculators are showing errors for previous base stats, which is why this may be entirely possible.
Speaking of that, are there potentially any more undiscovered Megas? We got a pretty small roster so far for all its hype, and the absence of a Gen 5 Mega is odd.
I hope that is the case + the pixie pokemon + any new Pokemon so that we will eventually have more toys to play with yay
Mhm, I have a feeling that they will be releasing many megastones as event "mons" There could also be some undiscovered stones, a friend told me he found one for Salamence, I don't have a pic and don't 100% believe it, but it sounds plausible. Also, what do you think will happen to some dragons due to fairies being introduced? I think Druddigon may drop to NU, Flygon to NU/LU, Haxorus to LU/UU Hydreigon to LU/UU, maybe Garchomp/Mence/Lati@s to UU if faries are as good as they seem. Dragon used to be incredibly influential because only 1 type resisted them, but if there is a type IMMUNE to their main stab, they lose a lot of power. Any fairy that is part flying/has levitate will counter most dragons: Mence, Flygon, Chomp, Nite, Hydrei, Drudd, all useless vs them. Chomp, Gon, and Drei all have secondary stab to hit the fairies with, but Druddgon, Mence, Nite etc don't (unless you count fly..) Lati@s twins probably won't drop too much, but the cm set will be rendered almost useless vs fairies and offensive sets like specs latios or LO latias won't be able to just spam draco meteor. Flygon has always been underwhelming, his only niche in that he gets uturn (which is now shared w/ noivern). He can't dance ( no SD or DD :[ ) he isn't the fastest (Chomp outspeeds and ties with Mence) he isn't the strongest (Weaker than: Mence, Chomp, Nite, Drudd, Haxorus) his typing is rare, but not unique (Chomp) he has alright bulk, but nothing superb. He does have incredible luck in that he is one of the very very very few dragons that resist rocks. Flygon is one of my favorite pokemon, but he lacks so much D: He was released with Mence, but when I look at their stat comparison and movepool comparison, I cry :c Mence is stronger, bulkier, has DD, and plenty of coverage moves. :[ I heard some stats may have changed, hope Flygon gets a lil boost, also why doesn't he have DD or SD, he can dance, I swear! :[
I doubt fairy type will affect them that much- dragon is still a fantastic typing (especially in terms of resistances), and many fairies lack physical bulk- it really limits their ability to withstand dragon assaults. Just means that dragons can't simply spam STAB.
Yep, doesn't work in the simulator yet though. Crobat hypetrain incoming. Also Infestation might be viable as trap moves damage per turn was buffed to 1/8 and it's a 100 acc move. Reuniclus and Swalot get it and a couple of others I don't remember.
RIP Deoxys Deoxys-D is dropping for sure. I'm curious to what would happen if Deoxys-S dropped to OU. Would it be kicked back out for its Nasty Plot set? I'm still slightly irritated that weather abilities got nerfed into the ground. Not because I liked weather teams, but because I'll have to relearn 3 tiers and I can't use a Ferrothorn-Goodra core in rain (that would have been nigh-unkillable)
wow i was about to post that defog got a buff.... ninja'd :[ oh well, it's still not implemented on the server so yea
So much for stall's comeback. Although offensive teams take a hit too, as your OWN set hazards are also cleared along with that of the opponent's. I expect rampant Charizards everywhere now. Talonflame getting this would be massively annoying. Priority hazard clean-up service underway! Oh and Serebii's made a list of Pokemon that got their base stats changed. http://www.serebii.net/xy/updatedstats.shtml +10 increases for a certain base stat it seems
Creepypasta-material from Gen 6 incoming... Fly to Lumoise City (North). Face the Route 14 gate. To the left of it, there is a grey building (in front of it are two trees). Go into that building, and to the second floor. Intriguing cutscene. Spoiler No.... Spoiler You... Spoiler You are not the one... gg creepy af Two more things that might be related to it: (You also see her at the Richissime Hotel in Lumiose City and there is something unusual written on the board in the reverse side at the back inside Lumiose Station) Maybe it's for an event? Hm, I'm not sure, but I know that it is very creepy. Creepier than the Old Chateau, creepier than the creepy mansion or whatever in Gen 5 Some are speculating that she is related to the ghost girl in BW2.
frigging creepy... o3o --------- on a much lighter note, I'm really loving all the music like this one and this one and especially THIS ONE yeah oh this one is amazing too :D
For those which don't have the game: Ghost girl video creeepy indeed In other news, there is a rumor which the hidden ability of Dragalge is Adaptability, although i refuse to believe it until proves come out
Why can't I get Contrary Inkay? T-T I've bred thousands of them, all with Suction Cups  Also, that ghost girl is sure creepy af O.o
What are your thoughts on the item Assault vest? It increases SDef by 50% but prevents the holder from using non-damaging moves. Imo it could be really useful in Ubers for offensive pivots- it allows them to be more bulky and/or invest more in offenses to become stronger threats (Or Def to become mixed pivots I guess). Especially given how many potent special attackers inhabit the tier.
I see it working extremely well for special tanks like Latias, as not only will they gain some ridiculous special bulk from holding it, but they'll also be able to bluff a choice item with it. Sadly she won't be able to cripple a wall with it though, due to the item preventing the usage of Trick (as far as I'm aware). If only, huh? EDIT: I've heard rumours about breeding. Apparently, females can pass on moves now, but males passing down Hidden abilities too, and Belly Drum + Aqua Jet being legal on Azumarill! Can anyone confirm or deny these? With the latter, I'm kinda hoping it's false, as BellyJet Azumarill will be OP as fuck.
It's confirmed, I believe. (I think serebii said so, but it's not always right) Belly Drum + Aqua Jet, switch into an Outrage, BD, Aqua Jet/Ice Punch, and gone. Just be wary of faster priority like Bullet Punch (Scizor is faster than Azumarill), E-Speed etc it won't be OP af, it'll just be very potent. Also It's bonding time! (Found http://cheezburger.com/7854391552)
Azumarill can easily run some Speed EVs to get the jump on Scizor, and that'll lead to a shitload of Speed creeping lol. Either way it'll stagnate the metagame if Scizor's the only stop to Azumarill after this.
I only mentioned a few common priority moves. Of course there's more, but I would rather run HP over Speed so I can actually live those priority moves.
