Chespin Grass -> Grass/Rock Fennekin Fire -> Fire/Dark Froakie Water - Water/Psychic Before you say it doesn't make a triangle, neither does gen 4 finals. Pokemon Y - Fire/something Pokemon X - Steel/Grass Really have no clue I think a cool third pokemon would be Pokemon W. W is the coolest letter ever. I am super excited for this installment.
Burd Thing is Y's mascot. See, it makes a Y with it's wings and it matches Y's logo. But this is all speculation.
I've been saying since HGSS was announced that RSE remakes won't be happening, as you can still link your GBA Pokemon games through to your DS ones. Granted, you have to Pal Park your Gen 3 Pokemon to Gen 4, then Poketransfer them to Gen 5. I assume they'll continue this trend in Gen 6 - I can't see them including all 700+ in these two games (including events). EDIT: Yeah, I see what you mean now. It looked like an X first time I saw it. I still don't see the link between the elk-thing and X though. I guess the antlers look a bit like the X in the game name???
Oak if you look closely during the video as it cuts to the deer thing, it's eyes hold the letter X in them :x Cut to around 8:37 to see the X in it's eyes. Oak EDIT: It's at ~1:22 in the trailer itself. But yeah, I see what you mean now.
I'm sorry, but I'm going to be the first to jump on the soon to be incoming "Gen 6 sucks, even worse then Gen V" bandwagon. I mean, wtf Nintendo? Look at those starters! What the hell are those supposed to be?! That first one just looks hideous and annoying! And least Snivy /somewhat/ pulled off the cool look, but that thing? It looks like a deluded cartoon character. And the fuck is that fire-fox creature? It looks like the proof for why, despite being able to, vulpix and purrloin shouldn't breed. And the water one . . . smh. Wasn't poliwrath and co. good enough for you? Must you now make some parody of a crudely drawn stereotype for a pokemon? Honestly? Out of all possible aquatic creatures, that's the best you can come up with? Your letting me down Nintendo. As for the legendaries . . . you make Pokemon Y version . . . and them you make a pokemon that looks like the letter "Y" . . . we see what you did there, and I for one am not laughing. Tbh, the "X" pokemon isn't that bad, but it looks unsettlingly like a more detailed virizion. I guess there might be some pokemon that I like more elsewhere in the generation, but based on this alone, the only good things I see are the enhanced graphics and finally no more fire/fighting starters. EDIT: With "X", seriously, pull up an image of it and of shiny virizion. They look identical with the exception of X's antlers, even down to minute details like chest markings, shoulder spikes, face shape, etc.
grass/dark fire/psychic water/fighting calling it early, I know. Also the elk legendary could look like an X if it separated its legs, js
anyone else remember seeing the elk before? checkout pokemon jade, thought i know i've seen one that looks more exact to it. i got up and watched this thing live, must say it was a good video. anyone else catch the part of the pokemon direct where they said they were working on features that used the 3DS' capabilities? it AR Battles, hope that's what they hinted at.
KX, what virizion are you looking at? If anything it is a mix between virizion and cobalion. I think that is pushing it too. There are only so many animals in the world. Also, fire fox is awesome. :)
I think it's funny that people think Nintendo have run out of ideas for Gen 6. They ran out of ideas in Gen 1. Voltorb and Ditto. That's all I've got to say about that. I really like Y. Y looks cool. X, less so.
I personally think the starters are okay. The Grass- one looks cartoonish and fun, it's not supposed to be cool, I like it. The Fire- one looks about right, it's a fox (A Fennec, specifically), and its facial expression does indeed look foxy. The Water- one... is a frog, frogs are retarded. Also, Burd Thing for Flying/Fighting. Kacaw.
There needs to be a dolphin pokemon. Make it water/psychic too. There are so many animals that pokemon has yet to touch. I really hope the new pokemon this gen are at least slightly cool. We don't need more pokemon like vanilluxe and garbador.
Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler OMFG AEJROIRJAWPER AOMFG OMFGERAOEROAEJRAW OKHFOIUREGHF OMFG OMFG OMFG IT'S GEN 6 YES YES GUYS I AM GOING TO PLAY THIS AND BE AWESOME ASDFGHJKL Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler [/HIDE][/HIDE][/HIDE][/HIDE] "does not represent actual game footage" ok (Also, does that guy look like he's skating? I don't know.)
Curse you Nintendo for giving me another reason to get a 3DS! Anyhow, I am interested to see where they'll be going with this game mostly with the 3DS's capabilities. Maybe we can get some neat AR and Street Pass stuff? Aside from that I think the starters look decent overall and will probably pick Froakie. Also for those interested here are the Japanese names for the starters: Chespin - Harimaron, Fennekin - Fokko, Froakie - Keromatsu.
Nintendo's really on a roll. That was like, 4 months when the last game released, and now another one? Brb fanboying
As someone whose played every gen since Red/Blue, I've got to say... THIS LOOKS AMAZING! I already like the starters more than the Gen 5 ones, depends what they do for the rest of the Pokemon. Might give me a seizure...that's a price I'm willing to pay. To quote Fry in Futurama: "Shut up and take my money!"
I have to restrain myself not to look at the list of Pokemon for gen 6, as I did for gen 5, and it was a terrible mistake. Oh god.
I'm disappointed to be honest, expected something related to BW2, isn't it a bit too early to release a new generation of Pokémon? Plus not like the preview of the new monsters is that cool, someone said they would be cartoonish, well they are, indeed they are. I think the Grass starter has a chance but I don't really like the repetitive style of the other two, especially the Water one. As fot the legendary Pokémon I expect a better trio since the Y mascotte is just awful, they are trying to add more badass looking Pokémon because youngest audience love them but this time they have failed, the X mascotte has a better design at least. Another thing I didn't appreciate is the fact that now looks like Pokémon game names have a priority before the Pokemon concept itself, I mean "Let's make the new mascottes for these X and Y edition, any idea? Genius! An Y shaped Pokémon not named Unown, let's also make ridiculously explicit, a dark bird shaped like a letter!". On another side the game graphics look great, especially the animations, cool wild Pokémon encounter concept too, I still dislike the main characters, BW2's ones weren't that great so are the new ones. I hope the footage in the different locations and paths won't disappoint or give a shock, I still love the 2D version for this, or at least as prevalent one. Well great animations again, I really love the moves. As you know this game is exclusive to 3DS aka 3 Dimensions usually rappresented by X, Y and Z, so expect a new Z version for Spring/Summer 2014. We will meet a Z shaped legendary Pokémon, amazing right? You know the first generation was just an experiment, I can't take it as an example, at least not the RBY project. [secret] WHERE IS MY KOALA POKÉMON? [/SECRET]
Well I was surprised to be honest. It looks a lot better than I thought it was going to do, I'm glad they've moved to the 3DS even if I don't own one :x The new dynamic battles look pretty cool as well, though I feel as if it might slow down the game quite a bit at times :x At the moment I love the fire fox thing and the Legendary Elk I don't know why, but it just looks so... majestic I guess. Plus I like Deer quite a bit.
Looks cool but I haven't even played a single Pokemon game since RSE. Haha am I the only one who is upset that we have to adjust to a completely new competitive metagame in October? Maybe I'll be gone by then. Also Pokemon Z should be cool.
Is anyone else kind of scared by sword legs I mean holy shit FUCKING SWORDS FOR LEGS If the starters do end up being Grass/Dark, Fire/Psychic, and Water/Fighting that'll be chill, but it's a generation late... ('Cept for Fire/Psychic that one's new and fresh and hip and okay) Also all the starters are cute (but the frog is pretty weak, man) cute af cutest af kinda weak but still cute af
we better get a water/steel mon with decent sdef/satk so rain teams can now counter tornadus-t EVEN EASIER!
Waiting for a Fire priority move to fuck genesect. They can not be those elemental types, becos in all the gens grass starter always beated water starter, water starter beated fire starter, and fire with grass etc. If u put dark type on the grass starter it can be beated for the water one, and so on.
Well, in Gen 4, Infernape got a Fighting type, which beats Empoleon's Steel typing, and Torterra got Ground, which beats Fire.
eh, you do have a point, although I don't really like Emp....perhaps Ghost/Steel would have been a better idea so SP/FB doesn't wreck
I'm with you there but that's not really what I'm excited about I love new generations figuring out what works and generally gimmicking around something that becomes much harder to do as time goes on. P.S. Stickied
Ugh and I haven't even figured out this gen's meta game yet. Though I don't particularly mind, I wonder how XY OU (lol that sounds terrible) will be and if weather is still dominant. Fennekin looks legit though, this'll be the first time I'll pick the fire starter since GSC.
So, who else is disappointed in the female trainer? Looks bland as fuck with just dark orange clothes and blonde hair. Women pokemon players everywhere will be sad.
well technically the fire starter is actually a lynx, but Firefox is such a cool name for it. Anyway, I happen to love the water starter too and I'll probably end up choosing it unless more information proves that the Fire Starter will be more beneficial. Edit: just found out that I was wrong. It's a fox :(
