I think this picture speaks for itself: Otherwise.. I'll explain. The battle window should really have a seperation between the battle-text and the dialog-text. Pros: Easier to sift through information of what is occurring during the battle Easier to establish a chat conversation amongst viewers/spectators/friends/moderators, etc More user-friendly for all users and just cleaner overall Cons: Can't think of any? This would be extremely ideal in my opinion to seperate the two different texts so during tournament matches or any matches that may have spectators who are there to enjoy the show and want to converse can do so freely without it getting into the way of the battlers.
I like this but I wouldn't say there are no cons the main con is that it takes up room and therefore shrinks the rest of the battle window features.
They could always add it under "battle options" as a checkmark for users to choose which newer or older battlewindow text they preferred if there was a reason to keep the older layout. Although I'd personally just standardize key things if they are overall outclassing older things; up to developpers anyway. they could always try to Divide the "battle" and "chat" text horizontally, where the Battle text would be up top and there would be a little room for the chat text bellow it. Example:
I definitely support this. Perhaps have a minimize option and and a small flash that gives you the option of opening the user chat if there is a chat message. The checkmark that zodiak is talking about under battle options seems ok too. Another idea is when the battle window is maximized, the division of chat appears. Right now when the battle window is maximized the battle screen is tiny and the chat area is disproportionally larger. It's tough to hold a conversation or make comments with the battle logs going on and I think this is a great suggestion
I'd like more people opinion about this before implementing. Looks like a great idea like i said. But i don't think everyone would like it.
