I tend to make a lot of bad teams, and using pokemon with just their plain, default names can make teambuilding boring for me. So what I like doing is either making silly, awesome, punny, and/or plain stupid nicknames for my pokemon, or just making a theme based off of something like songs from a music artist, characters from a video game, etc. Here's a few examples of stupid nicknames I've given to some of my pokemon in the past: V-Fit - Victini Cool Story - Slowbro Ghoul-Ade - Mismagius Ron Weezly - Weezing SubwayDiet - Snorlax If you like these, I have more I can share; if you hate them I'll probably stop right there (even though I find them funny...) Anyways, here's my question: Do you nickname your pokemon? If so, what are your favorite nicknames you've used or have seen on a pokemon?
When I played Wifi I used to. But it's not the same on a simulator. I had a female Salamence with Intimidate that I named Mnstration (character limit, but I'm sure you all get the idea). I'm awful. :3
Generally speaking, I use the same naming habit I picked up in my first few days on Pokemon Online. At least, I do whenever I actually go onto Pokemon Online. But anyways, I just name my Pokes after people I've met. A few times I go for a bit of variation, like slightly altering the usernames into insults just for fun.
Usually I pick a theme for the team and name my Pokemon after it for example my metronome team is Randomness Chaos (Jirachi) Luck (Mew) Skill (Celebi) Entropy (Mewtwo) Discord (Snorlax) Chance (Dusknoir) Gen 1 team named after 7ds my ubers team after the 7 princes of hell ect.
In Emerald I named my Ditto PROSTITUTE in all caps. In POL, unless I'm sticking to a theme I throw out random human names and slap them onto my Pokemon without a whole lot of thought.
I usually just use some random names that fit the Poke nicely. Namely, A Togekiss named "Hershey," and a Heracross named "Megahorny."
Depends, sometimes I give them italian nickanems just 'cause. Usually I call fat pokes Chase, because user Chase is very fat. For the rest, I stick to themes, or just don't nickname them, but giving them strong italian name in full CAPS fuels the strong of the team, ask SteelEdges!
Anything that comes to mind. Theme naming Cool names (like cool actual names like Scarlet!) Jokes/Puns It does make team-building more interesting.
cranidos= zidane lucario= sky walker pikachu= F T stone rattata= kamikazi delibird= uvgotmail espeon= take your shit blissey= miss B slowbro= snail pace genesect= genesex
This is true. I got 200 points on the ladder by using a team with Italian nicknames. If I can do it, so can you!
So what does Troppoforte mean? EDIT: -_- What does TROPPOFORTE translate to then? Spoiler Lol, gtfo...[/HIDE]
PPP, TROPPOFORTE is the essence of power itself, that's all you need know. The strongest name a Pokémon can have.
In my first Pokemon game (when I was in second or third grade), I nicknamed my Torterra "Tortellini" and my Mamoswine "Swiney". Thankfully I was able to change their names back when I learned about the name changer. :)
I named my pokémon quite silly when I was younger. I had a Typhlosion named Fire Blast! (No I didn't know it was a move at the time) And on a similar theme of names I thought sounded cool, I named my Meganium "Leaf Blade" (Wasn't a move at the time!). I also named my Pidgeot "Speedy" because of Mach 2 etc, I wasn't very good with names... still not now really :x Now I still nickname, but it's more things I think fit better. Like I have a Mismagius named "Yuria" (Demon's Souls reference :x ), Luxray named "Luxtra" (I liked the German name :< ) and I have an Oshawott named "Revolver"! (I've mentioned the Oshawott a lot before because I love that name) Spoiler I still hold claim I invented that name for Oshawott, no matter how widespread it is now, fuck you internet.[/HIDE]
Lol. Sounds a bit like what happened to my friend who looked up "Lobster Jesus". It's a cool nickname regardless. I also nicknamed a Diglett "Doug" (which is quite clever in my opinion).
Hm, so when put into Google translate "troppoforte" means "Superpower" and "troppo forte" means "too strong" not the porn site that came up first in google x_x
You know that "troppoforte" is becoming a new meme at Tohjo Falls. I saw people talking about it earlier today. XD By the way, what language is it from? How did you come up with it?
One would assume correct, Back on topic however. Naming Pokémon after obscure things from games. Like Ratchet and Clank planets and seeing how long it takes people to get it. Always fun.
My current Black 2 nicknames are: Dewott - Revolver (I can't let that one go :< ) Magnemite - Bolt (Imaginative!) Liepard - Kitty (Again... :3) Azumarill - Polka (When I saw Azurill was the Polka Dot pokémon, I had to call it Polka) Leavanny - Pia (I couldn't think of a name that fit, so I just went for a name of a female character) Minccino - Fluffy (Again my originality shows itself)
Nicknames from my Black cartridge: Terrakion - Shale Lord Gastrodon** - Soban Scizor** - Kenji Gengar** - Taro **exported from Gen IV cartridges (Pearl and Platinum) (Haha, Battle Realms names are so fun~)
ok i'm probably the only one who got this reference but i rofled. i don't usually nickname my pokemon :< in-game i sometimes nickname every pokemon "KITY" also, TROPPOFORTE
I like to name my pokemon after chess pieces. King, Queen, Rook, Bishop, Knight, and Pawn. It's just a pretty cool idea imo. Though sometimes when I'm playing a game with other people on the server I tend to name my pokemon after some users.
i generally pick names from books/tv/movies etc and theme my team with nicknames from the same thing. I was bored earlier today so i started playing emerald (again :3) and themed my team around characters from asoiaf, my person is called Chataya Combusken - Khal Drogo Gloom - Meera Kirlia - Quaithe Swablu - Mia Stone Delcatty - Tommen :333
ok, i usually use nicknames reffering to a song or something that is related to music lol like: Blastoise: Cannon Rock Meloetta: Melodia Victini: Symphonista and much more ._l.
