If this theme has taught me anything it's to never trust a claim that can't be backed up. An early theme thus not having all the gimmicks that our current themes have (conversions, upgrades etc.), simplicity at it's finest. 3 main teams and 2 single role teams competing for victory. If you've never played ClanWar then you haven't spent enough time in Mafia. The author isn't active so I've taken it upon myself to represent this theme. Now let me see some approves.
ClanWar has got to be an old classic everyone loved. The very first theme where a few groups with similar roles pitched against each other? I love the way you (can) lie (dat reference); it is like a double edged blade -- if you are from the South, but you claim as East just to kill them, your real partners from South might kill you, thinking you are East. Also, Neighbourhood Assassin, you receiver an A+++++++ from me. Dat 2 votes and dat ninja evasion skills. Unofficial approve <3
A classic chaotic theme. I have to admit, I do love the chaotic themes since there is usually a lot going on and the night kills bring greater apprehension, or at least they do for me. Approve
Clanwar with no innocent bystanders? I know nobody likes being the useless villager but it would add to the concept. Thoughts on this? Do a grammar and punctuation check please.
Approve [4] Introduces (well, to the current themes atm and when it was first created) a new way to play mafia (on the server at least!), having 3 major team sides as opposed to a village and mafia. The only problems I have are the inaccuracy of the summary (the Village Leader is leader of the warring village, not from another town...) and the East clan being the village, but that's mostly minor stuff.
I'm not going to approve this just yet. It's a classic, alright, but that doesn't mean it gets an automatic free pass. We certainly didn't give one to SSBB, the most popular theme on the server, and we shouldn't do so now. I have a few minor gripes with this theme. I like it, but I feel as if they need to be addressed before it gets uploaded. >As has been said, Villager Leader, and to a lesser extent, Neighbourhood Assassin are incredibly OP late game. And since they evade kills, the only thing that can hit them is a lucky inspect or rand early on. Take away a vote or two and they should be fine. >Why can't we have a separate North and West clan? The second one isn't really a problem though, so if NA and VL got nerfed just a little, that would be great. Maybe like 1.5 votes for NA and 3 for VL.
Not sure more kills is what this needs. Also, someone mentioned to me that the spies and roamers are basically villagers, something I overlooked somewhat (the term innocent bystander just fits too nicely). Taking into account that there are already 29 unique roles accounted for, it'd make it hard to implement my "innocent bystander" idea. I'd still like to see some more suggestions and/or justifications regarding this. But I guess I'm closer to an approval.
Just to remind Conspirator = mafia role that doesn't participate on the team's main action (i.e. Italian/French Canadian Conspirator, Yunalesca) not a killer, Shoddy. Edit - adding to that, even if not used in the way it's supposed to, Conspirator here usually means a role that wins with multiple sides.

Are you sure that is allowed? I feel like if you post the theme you shouldn't get to approve or deny it. That is just my opinion though. Also, the Approves thing in the first post is a little confusing.

I am clear on the guidelines. There isn't a rule against your vote counting. We all know this would just be approved by the next QC member who sees it anyway so it doesn't really matter. I think this issue should be addressed somewhere though. The people on here a crazy and some people might not like the fact that you posted and you approved it at the same time.

ClanWar is an old one and an interesting one. Highlights of theme are definitely the potential of back-stabbing and the dangers of killing a teammate. I do agree with Tesla's post that the Village Leader/Neighbour Assassin should have normal votes. A redundant approve.
I really doubt this theme would have gotten through QC without any changes if it weren't a classic, at least in its current state. Again, I feel like this major issue needs to be addressed before it can be properly accepted. And I meant give VL 3 votes and NA 1.5. Should make them a lot less op. Pointless decline (still fix it though)
I don't really think having non-integer votes is great, and that would kind of ruin the point of the NA in small games. Being solo roles, they're meant to be powerful and able to win on their own. It also forces people to cooperate more to find out the identity of the NA and VL. It's not like there aren't multiple roles that can discover them being Inspectors, Gunners, and Hookers (if they are communicating with their team). Strategies such as selfvoting/generally observing voting patterns can help deduce who they are as well. I think the point of their votes was that the NA could outvote a normal role while the VL could outvote the mayors...
Well, take Deoxys-A. Dies to every priority move in the game. Still uber material. Same goes here. You can hax them, inspect them, have your kill be evaded by them, rand them out. Regardless of how easily you can find them they're still OP. What's wrong with non-integer votes? As it stands right now, the NA can tie with 2 villagers and then win the next night with a kill. Reducing it to 1.5 would allow it to achieve its intended purpose, and add in some mind games when the games get small, instead of "ha I'm NA gg." Remember, just because a role was originally intended to act in a certain way doesn't mean you shouldn't change if if it throws of balance. That's why we review themes. We don't find ways to justify flaws, we find them and encourage people to fix them. Just because this is a classic theme doesn't mean it's perfect. I find the VL to be much more problematic than the NA though, because he's basically invincible unless you find him really early on. What if it comes down to South Gunner, South Inspector, South Hooker, South Bodyguard, and Village Leader? A flawless victory ruined by the VL's omnipotent presence. That's pretty much the definition of OP, a player being able to win without any strategy or planning on their own part, and beat others who do, simply because they get a certain role. That's like the PO User in WWW, only even worse because the VL can just massacre everyone nearly unimpeded. If anything, VL needs to be dropped to 3 votes. NA is UP when VL appears, but that's only because VL does everything it does and better. Compared to the other teams, it still has a distinct early advantage.
As a rather big threat, it would be in the players' best interest to weed out the NA and VL to not reach that impending fate. Finding out who they are should be among the top priority for the teams before they go along murdering each other. I will say I agree with the VL's vote being nerfed, although I think the NA's should stand at 2. Would it be a horrible idea to make the Mayor's votes 4 and VL 3 then? The way the votes were planned out, I'm pretty sure the relation between those two were kept in mind, but you could end up making it the opposite of what it was originally.

In my honest opinion NA does NOT want a nerf. Nobody ever makes alliances with NA, meaning if he evades, or is Insp'd, he is a guaranteed lynch. I see no problem with him winning vs 2 others. Surely if a lone role gets that far they have that right. Although introducing him at 7 isn't a good idea.
So, like, Clanwar would be so much fun with silent vote. This way teams that are hanging on by a thread still have a shot at winning. This would add strategy for knowing when to vote and when not to. You can't just start rands with silent vote because there is a huge likelihood of being countered. Otherwise, Clanwar is almost just a free for all until you find somehow to get linked, but without claiming, the BG and Hooker are usually left in the dark and people just quickly rand the first person they perceive as a threat. Silent vote would disguise this and allow an underlying strategy to "team up" to possibly pick off key enemy roles. I've been playing ClanWar for a while now, and from what I've seen, it would be better with a Silent Vote. Why? Of the two active themes that have it right now, one of them (Presents) is like a regular mafia game but with a silent vote, while the other (Castle) has mirrored equal teams with an extra lone individual or two. ClanWar is like Castle in its team structure but with 3 main sides, and would benefit from a silent vote, making it so that the game is more about teams working together rather than people voting for whoever gets 2 votes first (also, the NA doesn't have to always live in fear of eager inspectors). So long story short, silent vote for this theme please. :3 EDIT: Ninja'd :(

Just a suggestion, nerf the Village Leader. We've found that in about 90% of the games he's in, he wins.
