In a theme where the only option is /kill , and it is everyone for themselves, there is arguably little strategy you can use. Pretty much a raging killfest. I fail to see the fun... Even though it may be fun, it doesn't make for a good mafia game. It doesn't even resemble it.
    Edit: Quit ninjaing me.

How refreshingly honest. Someone who will speak their mind in a position of power.

Sadly, he's not a QC member. But that was surely a delicious dose of funniness. :P

Believe me or not. I don't really care because I know I am telling the truth. How you chose how to interpret it is out of my control.

I did NOT post my rejection in here because of Oak. I actually didn't even know that Oak had posted in here until Drapht mentioned it as I didn't look at page one. The real reason I came in here was because SteelEdges made a thread about it in Channel Staff forum. Otherwise I don't think I would have ever posted in here as I thought Vepix was getting plenty of attention.

I will say it again, believe me or don't. It's not my job to make everyone happy with me. No, my job is to help keep an eye on mafia channel and to review themes with as much neutrality as possible. I do my best to do that and I try to be nice about it. However you could be my number 1 greatest and bestest friend in the whole entire universe, but I will reject your theme if it is a killfest.

Heck Oak over here can make the stupidest, confusion riddled, *noobkillaplooza of a theme and I'll promptly reject it and then ask what the hell he has been smoking. Then I'll probably get booted out of Victory Road. Jk

Anyway that is what I got to say about this matter. Interpret it as you see fit.

*Yes I do know that noobkillaplooza is not a word.

Well looking at the strong argument of the other committee, I would have to REJECHT this old theme.

So i read through all the posts and unfortunately these are the ones that stood out the most. I strongly disagree with the views expressed in the first post, since they suggest that the QC system is rigged somehow. The reason the system was developed was to implement a fair review process with as many neutral but qualified opinions as possible. The second post accurately reflects how the mafia players will feel if any such thing as an executive decision is implemented. And the third just reaffirms that view.

If you have a particular view about something then you make a strong enough case against it to appeal to all others and get them to realize where you're coming from. Essentially what Oak did. There shouldn't have been any mention of an "executive decision" of any sort. Not when we have a group and a system that safeguards against deadlocks.

Mafia players can rest assured that the QC team hasn't been compromised in any way and the review process will continue as it had been before.
Sorry but that includes the slow as snail pace too, for now[/HIDE]

Anyway, on to my opinion of Vepix itself. It's a shit theme.

Ok, ok. personal opinions aside... Vepix is shit. It was obviously created with a very minimalistic approach. Take the most fun element of any mafia game, and make an entire theme focused on that one area. Killing.

I recognize the viewpoints made by some of you, in regards to taking a break away from the usual strategic approach. And some even trying to make a case that there's still a wee bit of strategy employed by figuring out priority and misleading the other players to try and stay alive. But let's face it. This theme didn't deserve to get off the drawing board. It's basically one of those novelty themes users create just for fun, just another addition to their repertoire. We need to realize this and stop advocating for the implementation of an unfinished product.

That being said, I hope you all realize that my final decision is to app... uhmm, decline.

Now if I take Vietpride's approval -> decline into account, the current tally would be 5 approvals to 8 rejections. That hereby removes this theme from consideration.

To add to what OSS said (nice post, btw), I'd like to point to this:
    2 Points regarding this quote:
-A single theme gets all this attention.
-The Review Process is still going slow.

This is almost a kind of bias toward themes. I know the answer to this is most likely "because it's an important issue", and I don't believe this means the process was rigged at any point, but still makes some of us sad. Why can't the process as a whole get this attention?

It gets all this attention because it's a giant debate/argument and I agree that the review process is slow as hell.

As for Shoddy's post. I said that to try and look out for you guys. In hindsight I should have probably kept my big mouth shut, but to me it seemed unfair to let you guys get your hopes up. I won't be surprised if I get my head bit off for it tho. Anyway I apologize to anyone that the post offended.

If you want your theme to get reviewed faster, go bug members of QC. It really isn't hard to drop a PM to a QC member saying "Hey you mind checking my theme out?" Obviously some QC members won't always have the time to do so, but I bet that if you keep bugging them, your theme will get approved / rejected in a timely manner. I don't understand everyone's attitude of "People aren't reviewing my theme so I'm just going to sit here and complain that no one is reviewing it instead of actually doing something about." I mean, I guess I could be wrong here, for all I know everyone's has been doing this (don't think so though lol). If you want something to get done, take some responsibility and get people to review your theme. Hell, if I wanted my own theme to get approved, you can bet I would be bugging QC left and right to get them to look over it.

I brought this up in the last complaining thread, but fsr nobody had a response to it except "I'm scared of everyone on QC so I don't want to."

(Sorry this was offtopic I would respond to Li Q's post but the point is moot seeing as this theme has been rejected. Maybe someone should start a thread about the speed of the review process and move this discussion there?)
