In larger games, monsters roam in the simulation, hoping for a chance to take over the game! Rohane and either Mipsy or Talinia should be protected by Velm. It basically depends on whether you want Mipsy to be voted off/killed the first day or if you want to keep her as backup and could simply care less about Talinia. Rohane should be the one taking charge because of his higher priority than Talinia. If Coltzan is in the game and someone else revealed him, you could always let Talinia kill him as a sacrifice. Also, Talinia could lead a rand since backfiring won't cost the team too dearly. Meridell: Zombom: Nightkill x1 Ramtor: Distract x1, Daykill x1, unrevealed. Sand Grundo: Protect x1 Ramtor should be protected by the Sand Grundo and, because of this, should be the one taking charge. There aren't any conflicting commands, so playing this team is easier than the heroes. Ramtor should also use the /distract as a means of gathering information so he can tell Zombom who to kill in later nights. If you were to pick a teammate to lead a rand, it would be Zombom. Terror Mountain: Leximp: Inspect x1 Kolvars: 2-day poison x2, Protect x1 Scuzzy: 9999 votes Kolvars can be on either player since both are fairly powerful. The Leximp has to inspect and decide if it's worth it for Scuzzy to vote or not (usually, Scuzzy shouldn't vote day one). This means Kolvars will most likely be on the Leximp, but protecting Scuzzy is in no way a bad option. Every role is powerful and has to work together for this team to succeed and communication is key. Lost Desert: Siliclast: Nightkill x1, Protect x1. Coltzan: Nightkill x1, revenge nightkills. Anubits: Daykill x1, unrevealed. Siliclast is the main decision-maker on this squad if you ask me, even though all three need to communicate actively. Firstly, he and Coltzan share the kill which forces them to debate, and secondly, he has to choose between protecting Coltzan and Anubits. Anubits can kill freely as long as he survives but the main draw to the team is the ability to protect Coltzan, which means you get a free kill if you're targeted. If this side chooses to rand, I'd suggest letting Anubits do it. Haunted Woods: Hubrid Nox: Protect x1 (on anyone), unrevealed daykill, zero votes. Esophagor: three-day poison x3 Hubrid Nox and the Esophagor pretty much work separately. The Esophagor just has to keep note of who he poisons and Hubrid just protects himself and votes away. During the lynch, the Esophagor can try to draw attention to himself if Hubrid is at stake, leaving Nox alive to kill another day. It's a fairly easy team. I strongly advice against randing because you effectively have one vote. Haunted Faeries: Fire Faerie: Daykill x1, revealed Dark Faerie: Nightkill x1 (through BG) Water Faerie: Protect x1 Earth Faerie: Nightkill x1 The Dark Faerie should contact everyone, telling them to protect her and let her kill. The Fire Faerie should sacrifice-kill during the standby of day one if possible. The Earth Faerie should just sit back and relax while the Dark Faerie does most of the work. The Earth Faerie is very suited to leading rands. Team Faerieland: Terask: Inspect x1 (NOT teamshared), Nightkill x1, Daykill x1, unrevealed. Orb of Power: Protect x1, Safeguard x1, zero votes. (possibly: Aisha Conspirator: Inspect x1 (NOT teamshared, 70% accurate)) Terask should just work on his own, trying to find the bodyguards of the opposing teams and killing those off. The Orb of Power should pretty much be on Terask. If the Aisha Conspirator contacts Terask or the Orb, see it as a nice extra, but leave it at that unless it was a hard claim, then you could consider dropping Terask's guard. Terask is the most important team member by far and in charge over everything the team does (but I advice against randing, if the Conspirator is on your squad, let it do the randing for you.). Monster Rise (consists of individual monsters who aren't sided with anyone but the Aisha Conspirator): (commands vary depending on the monster) Just use your command and hope for the best. The Monster Rise is here to keep all factions small, balance the theme out in larger games and keep everyone occupied. Aisha Conspirator: Inspect x1 (70% accurate) The AC is sided with all monsters AND Faerieland, and there are two ways to abuse this: The Obvious Way: Softclaim by revealing someone who is not on your team by saying their role to everyone (assuming your inspect worked). Then try to get as many monsters to send you a pm. Or just claim Aisha Conspirator in a gama with the Bionic Cybunny or with the Orb of Power but without Terask. The Sneaky Way: Do not claim, but keep track of your inspects until you find a monster who can reveal your inspects or until you find Team Faerieland who can just kill them off. [/HIDE] The theme has, in my opinion at least, a decent balance between skill (trying to analyse potential major targets through text, risking a rand which could backfire easily) and luck. This theme stands out from other killheavy themes by having six different main groups as opposed to putting one player against the world (Vepix) or having only a few factions (e.g. Castle), a special role in each team that makes them incomparable to the others, a semi-conspirator role and a bodyguard on every team. Criticism and love are both appreciated!
I can only say, that this theme got way to many sides. The Heroes is supposed to be the good guys i suppose, and they really UP in bigger games. Honestly, you should do something about the balancing issues.
This theme doesn't have any 'villagers' on purpose. Still, I get where you guys are coming from. I honestly don't think two highly prioritized nightkills, two bodyguards, two safeguards and a one-time double daykill is UP. I have the amount of sides as a buffer for when games get too large, most of the time they aren't really necessary.
Ramtor II's daykill message says that he will be revealed but his help info says he won't. Esophagor's help info says that victims will die after 3 days but "count" is at two. Same for other poisons ("count" is optional, only if you need a specific length, or not the target will die the next night). The problem I have with this theme is that it's a clusterfuck of kills, poisons and daykills. And I saw a role with just a protect and 1.5 votes (screams UP). I'm not going to decline this for now since I know this theme can do much better. But please, mafia isn't about a clusterfuck of kills.
For countdown: If you put it to 2 it will take 1 day, 3 it will take 2 days, 4 it will take 3 days etc.
Thanks for explaining how the poison works, I wasn't sure about that anyway and used it in the exact opposite way it was intended to. And I completely overlooked the flaw with Ramtor too. I'll get to improving that right away. I'm also thinking of removing more of the monster roles, mainly because there's no way the amount of players is going to be that high. I think this theme has a decent amount of kill commands but every team also has a bodyguard and quite a lot of daykills only work once, because they are voted off afterwards. I get that the danger of a killfest is there, but it seems on the 'good' side of the borderline to me because of the in-team communication. Still, if there's any roles you'd want me to nerf, I'll gladly look into it.
I hope i don't get in trouble for posting here. I feel like there are way to many kills. Someone already said that there are to many sides and I don't think you did anything about that. The conspirator i think wins with all of the sides so instead of typing out all of the sides you could make it "*" instead. that would cut out like 18 lines of code or something crazy like that. Also, you are allowed to bump your own threads so why haven't you bumped this one? If you have just given up on a thread then you should ask for a lock or something. Didn't really contribute much but I hope that I helped.
@Beast: If you feel like you don't contribute much, then DON'T POST. Simple as that. The conspirator does NOT win with all the sides, and for good reason. I did go over that in my role explanation, so next time, check your info, and the purpose of the theme, before posting. It's posts like these and Chippy's that make me doubt if the new rating system improved the quality of rating at all... Anyway, as I said before, I have a good reason not to delete all those small monsters: I need a drain for larger games. I was thinking of removing it, but that would mean I'd run short on roles. That brings me to the final point, I didn't bump yet because I wanted to fix this "problem", or at least it seems to be in the eyes of the raters. The amount of kills is rather low for a Clanwar-ish theme (every team has a bodyguard), but the amount of monsters makes larger games a slugfest. Removing monsters brings the aforementioned problem (30 is the minimum of roles a theme needs, and I won't be able to make that even if I do add the other bosses). Just adding villies to any side doesn't make any sense flavourwise and is also the main attraction to Attacks, hence I didn't copy that. And since fixing all of this takes time... well, you can see why I let this drop. In conclusion, I don't feel like this rate helped me out at all. To be fair, it kind of pisses me off. I do thank you for taking a look at it, but guys, the only ones who were constructive here (not just saying it was bad, but helping me solve the issues it has) were Shiny and t3, and even then their posts had the same buildup: solving some minor issues but then saying the overall picture is bad and not giving any advice on how to fix it. If rates are going to be like this, I'd rather see this thread locked. Then I can at least shift attention to my Pikmin 2 theme, playing mafia and real life. So Steel, would you take care of that for me? Thanks!
@Trosh he is actually contributing by telling his opinions, and about what he thinks should be deleted. In bigger games, this theme is nothing but a kill fest, so i too agree with BeastChariard.
He is contributing, by saying there are way too many kills and not telling what way to fix it. That's my point. Also, I asked for a lock so I would appreciate it we could all stop posting. Still, y'all did help me out in a way and I do want to thank you for it. One final thanks for everyone who helped me out, including whoever is locking this.
