    Basically, what the title says.

This is a game-breaking mechanic that can make anyone lose to a random noob abusing this glitch. Consider the following Rhydon set:

    Rhydon
    -Earthquake
    -Rock Slide
    -Body Slam
    -Dig

The strategy is like this - come in on a Body Slam from whatever, ideally a Snorlax, and get paralyzed. Use Dig until you get paralyzed while underground. Voilà! You can now 4HKO all Pokémon in the game with a combination of the first two moves. Rest Exeggutor can stall...but that's it, and it is hoping for Rhydon to not get a CH Rock Slide. Get rid of that somehow and there you are, an unbeatable Pokémon.

This mechanic removes a lot of skill from the metagame and should be fixed at once. NetBattle Supremacy didn't feature it and I don't see why PO should since it is simply gamebreaking.

yeah. It's not that reliable as a strategy but it's just stipid.

I'm pretty sure this was only put in because of the whole "simulate RBY mechanics perfectly" thing we had going on. We had a list of all the difference between Stadium and Yellow, and the list was never screened for things like this.

I don't see any reason that this shouldn't be removed.

Note that this has to be coded, so it can't just be gone within a day; it'll probably be gone with 2.0.06, which is being released soon-ish.

I am very much aware, but since the earlier thread I made in General got mostly ignored and Crystal Moogle closed a bug report with this issue saying "Gen 1 was a weird gen...", I think that this was very much needed.

The fact that it pretty much relies on flying types getting paralyzed(only common ones being Dragonite and Moltres if even) or Body Slam parahax is probably the reason why it was "ignored." As much as this can break the game I myself don't really see it as that much of a high priority among the other bug and general simulator fixes needed simply because of the nature it's activated and the complete and total rarity of it even have a chance of activating unless you point it out to everyone.
That's not at all to say you shouldn't be pushing for this to get fixed, but yeah.

Seems as if discussion on this in Metagame Development halted as soon as it started (this thread, as a response to the other thread of the same name).

Anyway, it seems to be widely agreed that the Dig / Fly + full paralysis bug should be removed, so I'll bug the developers to implement this change for the next update, which is due very shortly.

Sorry :x I didn't really know how we dealt with issues like that, I assumed because of how buggy gen 1 was with somethings it was going to stay, but as Oak said, your thread wasn't entirely ignored and well I'll try and get Ethan/Nixeagle to read this when I see them

Please make this a priority for the next update. I would appreciate it if someone would personally claim responsibility for this issue, to assure that it gets corrected.

Well, I posted in a thread in staff forums to make the devs aware of this thread before crystal_ even posted, so they know about it.

you want sub behaving like crazy, hyperbeam not recharging, weird bug with stat boost + burn/para, but you don't want the fly bug????

why not just play stadium if you don't like bugs

    you people amaze me.

I don't care if you're the owner, thats a ridiculous post and you know it. None of those things are inherently gamebreaking and to attempt to compare them to the digpara bug is absurd. By that logic lets have TM05 Golem and all the glitch moves that crash the game because "we should have all the bugs!"

When it comes to glitches its not exactly hard to figure where to implement awkward mechanics and where to draw the line. Making a binary argument for all or none is simply idiocy.

That kind of posting isn't necessary.

The devs have been made aware of this and it'll be worked on as soon as schedules permit.
