The LC sub forum recently is pretty bad with all the discussion of retests and everything, so I figure a little light hearted discussion might do some good. What better light hearted discussion is there than fun/gimmicky sets. I think there's a thread like this but it's outdated by like a year. So. Go ahead and post any set you want for any Pokémon (as long as it's not completely useless and as long as it's not a standard set for a common Pokémon like a Scarf Mienfoo set). I'll start with a couple. Shelmet: [secret] Shelmet (M) @ Eviolite Trait: Shell Armor EVs: 196 HP / 156 Def / 156 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Spikes - Recover - Bug Buzz - Toxic / Yawn A very overlooked Pokémon, with a pretty impressive defensive spread an access to Spikes and reliable recovery. Shelmet also carries a nice resistance to fighting. Put simply, killing Shelmet with neutral attacks is VERY difficult. 252Atk Choice Band Pure Power lvl 5 Meditite (+Atk) Zen Headbutt vs 196HP/156Def Eviolite lvl 5 Shelmet (+Def): 54% - 66% (13 - 16 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. Yes that's right. CHOICE BAND MEDITITE does 66% on a max damage roll[/secret] Boosting Paras: [secret] Paras (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Dry Skin EVs: 196 Atk / 240 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Spore - Agility / Swords Dance - X-Scissor - Seed Bomb - HP IV: 29 Paras is one of the few Pokémon with Spore in the game. Spore is a guaranteed sleeping Pokémon if you get Paras in on something choiced that can't KO it or something slower unless your opponent packs an Insomnia users or switches in something that is already ailed with a status condition. Paras can use the free turn that Spore generates to boost a stat of choice. Agility gives paras 24 speed. Enough to outspeed all unboosted Pokémon. Swords Dance will give Paras 34 attack, making it a very powerful offensive Pokémon indeed. Paras does however suffer from a complete lack of speed. So this could be made more effective by using it in Trick Room[/secret] BD Darumaka [secret] Darumaka (F) @ Salac Berry Trait: Hustle EVs: 36 HP / 196 Atk / 80 Def / 196 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Substitute - Belly Drum - Fire Punch - Rock Slide Power. This thing will tear a team apart in no time at all if you allow it to set up. But setting up is the problem, this thing is pretty frail and setting it up is very hard. But when it works, it really, really works. 252Atk +6 Hustle lvl 5 Darumaka (Neutral) Fire Punch vs 252HP/252Def Eviolite lvl 5 Slowpoke (+Def): 57% - 71% (16 - 20 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. Nothing is switching in, that's for sure. 252Atk +6 Hustle lvl 5 Darumaka (Neutral) Rock Slide vs 252HP/252Def Eviolite lvl 5 Slowpoke (+Def): 78% - 96% (22 - 27 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. and if you got rocks and spikes going for ya, your opponent is pretty much done. This is however quite weak to fast scarfers such as Mienfoo and Staryu, and as with all Belly Drummers throughout the ages, weak to priority.[/secret] Set collection: Current count: 28 [secret] Defensive Shelmet: Shelmet (M) @ Eviolite Trait: Shell Armor EVs: 196 HP / 156 Def / 156 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Spikes - Recover - Bug Buzz - Toxic / Yawn Belly Drum Darumaka Darumaka (F) @ Salac Berry Trait: Hustle EVs: 36 HP / 196 Atk / 80 Def / 196 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Substitute - Belly Drum - Fire Punch Boosting Paras: Paras (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Dry Skin EVs: 196 Atk / 240 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Sand force diglett. No joke. 252Atk Life Orb Sand Force lvl 5 Diglett (Neutral) Earthquake in Sandstorm vs 252HP/252Def Eviolite Damp lvl 5 Hippopotas (+Def): 34% - 50% (9 - 13 HP). Guaranteed 3HKO. The most physically bulky pokemon in LC not weak to its STAB and it can be 2HKOed by neutral STAB. Add in some SR and easily obtained prior damage and hippo doesnt stand to much of a chance, form testing with wob it does 12 HP most of the time, things like ferroseed are cleanly 2HKOed and mienfoo can be OHKOed. Its actualy a good sweeper in it's own right and can clean up or punch holes for sandshrew. It can 2HKO anything not named koffing, duskull, baltoy, bronzor, nincada, missdrevous or a pure grass type with two moves, rock slide and earthquake, some of these can be neutered with a coverage move or are never seen. Yeah this is why diglett is broken. Happy, Lisalo? Diglett (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Sand Force EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 236 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Substitute / Protect - Earthquake - Shadow Claw - Rock Slide EQ everything in sight, outspeed pretty much everything and be able to switch moves, rock slide flying types, shadow claw missy and duskull(though wont 2HKO) and protect or sub is your choice, i used protect and sub with edgequake, protect blocks fake out and sub blocks suckerpunch, they also stall for some sand damage. If someone survives your sandshrew's sweep, they wont survive diglett. Its totally viable, its very deadly, use it.
Numel (M) @ Eviolite Trait: Simple EVs: 196 HP / 116 Def / 156 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Stockpile - Rest - Lava Plume - Sleep Talk Love this set and it should really be used more. What sucks about stockpile? You can only use it three times, but with simple, using it three times will give you +6 in both defensive stats :o. Pretty much wrecks teams without a water type mon and status hardly matters.
Not exactly a "non standard" set but I do believe that the Pokémon itself is overlooked all too often Rufflet (M) @ Choice Band / Choice Scarf Trait: Hustle EVs: 252 Atk / 60 Def / 196 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Brave Bird - Frustration - U-turn - Superpower Extremely powerful STABS, Hustle can be its downfall but the power output is insane. U-Turn is also really damn useful in LC.
Unless something has changed since the release of BW2, Rufflet cannot have Brave Bird at level 5, as it's a level up move past level 5 and is a male only species which unfortunately makes Rufflet a rather crummy physical attacker with no strong flying stabs.
Wingull (F) @ Eviolite Trait: Rain Dish EVs: 36 HP / 236 SAtk / 236 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Hurricane - Scald - Rain Dance - Roost Wingull is a huge bro. He's got 19 Speed which is a rather crowded tier these days but good none-the-less and an OK Special Attack stat. I like him kind of defensive but I bet you could use 3 Attacks + Rain Dance @LO pretty effectively.
Well it's allowed on the ladder for now so. It's something to consider until it's not. Edit: After mentioning this to Crystal she doesn't intend to change this. Which I guess isn't bad, just some new variety. Kabuto (F) @ Choice Band Trait: Swift Swim EVs: 196 HP / 196 Atk / 40 Def / 76 SDef Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Aqua Jet - Waterfall - Rock Slide - Frustration / Body Slam / Aerial Ace CB Kabuto is always fun. Its speed isn't great even with investment so I find going bulky the best option. Probably not the best use of a Kabuto but it's good fun none the less. Credits to Meh for CB Kabuto
Drilbur @ Eviolite Trait: Mold Breaker EVs: 196 HP / 156 Atk / 120 Def Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Rapid Spin - Earthquake - Stealth Rock - Rock Slide i'm really loving this set recently. who needs sand rush? it can set up rocks on natu, it 2hkos bronzor, solidly tanks hits from most things and hits back hard, and provides that rapid spin support. lots of ppl don't see the EQ coming on the bronzor even when they see mold breaker. lol
haven't used it personally but i love seeing that in action, even the one time someone used it on me. drilbur has class flowing from his claws in this set
I played against fitzy and he was using this set. Wrecks all Drilbur's checks that rely on Levitate. So if you're using Sand with Drilbur + Sandshrew, just use Mold Breaker and break the checks and sweep with Shrew. e z. Finneon (F) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Storm Drain EVs: 44 Atk / 208 SAtk / 28 SDef / 228 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Surf - Ice Beam - Hidden Power [Electric] - U-turn Nobody ever uses Finneon ;~;. It's super cute, it's umh... It's cute! Also one of the few waters with U-Turn, so that's cool :/.
nvm, ditching woooper despite the fact it revenges scraggy(sorta? Walls maybe .-.) and the sand rushers. Hmm.... need something original! 252Atk Pure Power lvl 5 Meditite (+Atk) Drain Punch vs 116HP/156Def Eviolite Sturdy lvl 5 Nosepass (Neutral): 66% - 95% (14 - 20 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. The fact it survives a super effective hit from meditites STAB moves from adamant max attack(and being one of the only two pokemon to manage this) automatically makes it a boss, and this isnt even maxed out physical bulk. Ye. Suck it ferroseed. It can also take boosted drain punch from scraggy pretty easily. 252Atk +1 lvl 5 Scraggy (Neutral) Drain Punch vs 116HP/156Def Eviolite Sturdy lvl 5 Nosepass (Neutral): 66% - 85% (14 - 18 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. SWAG Nosepass (M) @ Eviolite Trait: Magnet Pull EVs: 116 HP / 156 Def / 196 SDef / 40 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Stealth Rock - Volt Switch - Power Gem - Pain Split Pretty kool, stealth rock, gives momentum, walls stuff. I used restalk which was extremely effective but pain split will suit others better probably, pain split is good though because it lures mienfoo which comes in with a fresh supple of HP each time too. You can use earth power/quake for chinchou, fire punch of steel types, taunt. thunderwave, thunderbolt, ice punch, head smash, rock polish, some fighting move this guy's movepool is just amazing, so are his stats. And another pro i've used Mankey (F) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Vital Spirit EVs: 116 HP / 196 Atk / 196 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Close Combat - U-turn - Assurance - Earthquake Absolute boss, 2HKOes alot of stuff, including bulky walls or whatever. Vital spirit lets you switch into foongus, use fire punch if you want to. U turn gains momentum. Closecombat is a spammable stab move that doesnt miss in untimely situations then make it worse by draining away half your health and killing you to save oponents trouble. Assurance is good with stealth rock for a 100 base power dark type attack on ghost types switching into it while that other move(punishment?) is 10 bp stronger or w/e and sucks, earthquake hits chinchou and croagunk. Boss for coverage, suck it mienfoo. This is the better scarfer. It gets ice punch, seed bomb, thunderpunch, rock slide and what not so just take a look. Use specs with overheat, focus miss and what not and it will still be pro. Just gonna say but im not posting a set cause i hate it but elgyem is a decent meditite counter. And Execute is cute. And counters meditite with bulk and resitances to dualstab and thunder punch. Maybe even chingling is decent, maybe. Solosis too i suppose.
Trak you seriously suck for posting the most common Mankey set here Well since I really loved SD Gatr in OU, I figured it'd work in LC. It did quite well tbh you just needed to bring it out on the right time: Totodile (M) @ Eviolite Or Life Orb Trait: Torrent EVs: 116 HP / 236 Atk / 84 Def / 60 SDef / 12 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Aqua Jet - Waterfall/Superpower - Swords Dance - Crunch If you're using Eviolite then you want to get to +4, if you're using Life orb then you want hazards support. Aqua jet is a nice priority to have with all the Drillbur running around. Crunch is the move you'll be using to break through Frillish/Slowpoke. Waterfall can be a stab and will hit Bronzor and Hippopotas harder, while naturally Superpower is there for Porygon/Ferroseed. Don't bring this out directly but just get the walls weakened a little bit, and then send it in to break those pesky walls! How simple could it be!!!! Plus it's adorable so can't top that (Yes Aurist Corphish is ugly)
Lickitung (M) @ Eviolite Trait: Own Tempo EVs: 196 HP / 76 Def / 236 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Body Slam - Wish - Heal Bell - Dragon Tail Cleric Lickitung. Boss set possessing a lot of bulk especially on the special side. Has a bit of trouble with the ever present fighting types but is a useful tool none the less with Dragon Tail for shuffling and 14 HP Wishes to pass around, which is quite something when you consider how rare Wish is in LC. Heal Bell is also very rare and Lickitung does it extremely well. Credits to Aurist for this one. Ps: Trak would you please refrain from posting what is in fact a standard Scarf Mankey set. Just because it's not used as much as in gen 4 doesn't mean it isn't already popular. This thread is for gimmicky or overlooked Pokémon or sets not standard powerhouses.
Can we be a little more nice? The Flying Gem Drifloon set mentioned above was extremely standard too, although a good one, Mylo :) Vullaby (F) @ Eviolite Trait: Weak Armor EVs: 236 SAtk / 76 SDef / 196 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Nasty Plot - Dark Pulse - Air Slash - Roost Getting +2 SAtk and +1 Spd is your goal to sweep with this thing. Set up on a variety of things like Mienfoo, Eviolite Meditite, possibly +1 Scraggy if you like risks, etc. Anything with a physical move you can survive and then kill at +2 SAtk. Or you can come in on things like Staryus Rapid Spin, and then tank the Tbolt or Beam while you get +2 SAtk, then give it a nice strong Dark Pulse, or you can roost for some more HP on a neutral damage Beam or Bolt. Pretty much the only things that can stop Vullaby after it gets it's boosts are priority, Sand Rushers, fast scarves, or things like Munchlax or Lickitung. Even Porygon can lose an extremely large amount of the time to flinch, or is otherwise put in the range of an easy revenge. Maxing out SAtk is an obvious choice, 15 SpD allows you to outpace things like scarf Snover at +1 Spd as well as most Scraggys after a DDanc, and the extra EVs go into SDef to help you tank those pesky Porgon and Staryu Bolts and Beams. Watch out for Rock Blast and Icicle Spear, otherwise, happy sweeping!
Darumaka isn't really viable in any LC metagame that I've played. Darumaka is way to fragile without Eviolite, is weak to Stealth Rock, Earthquake, Fire-types, and its longevity is too greatly reduced by Belly Drum + Substitute. Sure, Hustle makes it super strong but it can't switch into anything and its really not worth a teamslot. If you're using Fire-types in LC, stick to Ponyta and Houndour. Shelmet should carry HP Flying so it can check Mienfoo/Scraggy. Acid Armor is great for beating Scraggy.
No one uses mankey .-. It's not standard, if you played the meta you would know, And sheesh, so is the acrofloon, go shoot down, totodile and your lickitung. All standard sets. Eviolite darumaka, that made me laugh. It's a scarfer, a horrible one at that the way i see it but whatever. It isnt weak to fire, also HP flying isnt to usefull as fighting types wont be staying in. Bug buzz will do decent amounts to scraggy. And i'd personally be setting up spikes rather than killing mienfoo.
Scarf Mankey has been the only Mankey since gen 4 and in gen 4 and early gen 5 it was used a whole hell of a lot. The Acrofloon is indeed standard, I just didn't feel like calling it out at the time. As for Totodile, it has been heavily underused since gen 4 and throughout gen 5. It has carried no fame, it can also run more than 1 set. It isn't just restricted to a Scarf set to be at all effective. But hell, this isn't the place to be discussing this. it clutters the thread
So having amazing bulk and good support moves made you laugh yet you worship a Nosepass, ok. Notice he said Gimmicky AND Overlooked sets. Mankey has always been a scarfer, so if you would use a mankey it would most likely be scarfed or LO.
Has anyone tried Riolu, it's such a troll. Riolu @ Focus Sash Trait: Prankster Evs: 236 Atk / 236 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd - SAtk) -Roar -Copycat -Circle Throw -Crunch Basically, just have a teammate set up spikes and stealth rocks then just roar into another pokemon and then use copy cat. Now you have a priority roar up your hands which means you opponent will take residual damage from stealth rock and spikes. Just repeat this process, however this set is easily stopped by any pokemon with a move of more then +1 priority and Natu can just bounce back the roar ruining the damage sweep. Now watch as your opponent get pissed off.
Riolu @ eviolite Trait: Prankster Evs: 236 Atk / 236 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd - SAtk) - Bulk Up - Drain Punch - Crunch - Copycat Standard EV's (may change to prefrence) but not the standard set. The set focus on Priority and Bulk Up. The Speed EV's aren't really needed as it will be priority via copycat. You use Bulk Up then a move like Drain Punch and it will be priority next turn. Its great at revenge killing. Very gimmicky. Lum berry could also be used to prevent Status.
Posted it in hazard thread already but who cares: Dwebble @ Eviolite Trait: Weak Armor Level: 5 EVs: 156 Spd / 236 SDef / 36 HP / 76 Def Careful Nature - Rock Blast - Knock Off - Stealth Rock - Spikes The key to this is Weak Armor and special bulk. Send it in on Porygon, Mienfoo, Hippo, even Murkrow, and you will get SR and Spikes both up. Porygon scores a cool 4HKO on Dwebble with Shadow Ball, Mienfoo fails to OHKO after a defense drop from Fake Out with HJK, Hippo 3HKOs with Earthquake, Murkrow 2HKOs with Brave Bird but gets outspeed after BBird. Sets up on pretty much anything without Scald/Hydro Pump or Stone Edge. Again, watch out for Rock Blast and Icicle Spear, they pretty much OHKO you.
Axew (F) @ Choice Band Trait: Mold Breaker EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Outrage - Dual Chop - X-Scissor - Superpower An Axew choice set isn't used much as the Dragon Dance set,I've still tested this set before and it isn't even that bad.Use Dual Chop if you think that can also KO the opponent cause using Outrage Would be useless.Superpower new move for Axew it can only learn it in BW2,it's great for beating steel types which most axews couldn't do in BW1.X-Scissor,idk I didn't know what to use for the last move lol.
Hey that's my Finneon Dasdardly!!!! Surskit (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Swift Swim EVs: 36 HP / 20 Def / 200 SAtk / 240 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Hydro Pump - Signal Beam - Psybeam - Hidden Power [Fire] I really like Surskit, it has cool typing with useful resistances to Fighting and Ground but it's a little lacking stat-wise :/ Psybeam is for Croagunk who otherwise walls this set and HP Fire for the ever-annoying Ferroseed. Shinx (M) @ Toxic Orb Trait: Guts EVs: 236 Atk / 4 Def / 4 SDef / 236 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Thunder Fang - Fire Fang - Crunch - Quick Attack Shinx can be deadly if used correctly. Thunder Fang is its main STAB attack(wild charge is bad because of recoil) and strikes bulky Water-types like Slowpoke. Fire Fang is used for Bronzor and Ferroseed. Crunch is here for Ghosts(frillish). Quick Attack is for priority which is always useful. Protect can be used over Quick Attack I guess. Ground/Rock types such as Onix can beat Shinx fairly easily so HP Grass is also an option.
Support Trubbish Trubbish (M) @ Eviolite Trait: Sticky Hold EVs: 196 HP / 180 Def / 100 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Toxic Spikes - Payback - Explosion - Clear Smog Strong set for Trubbish, Toxic Spikes have quite an effect in LC and it can't be set up on anything except steel types and sub users due to Clear Smog clearing all stat changes. His reasonably impressive defences allow it to serve as a check for Scraggy with Clear Smog wiping any attempted stat boosts. Explosion may not be as powerful as in gen 4 but it's still extremely strong and shouldn't be underestimated too much. So. Strong defensive support Pokémon with the rare Toxic Spikes as well as a handy resistance to fighting type attacks... what's not to love
Buneary (F) @ Silk Scarf / Life Orb Trait: Limber EVs: 228 Atk / 4 Def / 236 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Fake Out - Quick Attack - Fire Punch - Healing Wish / Sky Uppercut Buneary is great. She can RK many pokemon with Fake Out+Quick Attack, lure Ferroseed and strike it with Fire Punch and sacrify herself to heal a teammate, when low on HP. Sky Uppercut can be used for Scraggies who think they can freely set-up on Buneary. She also has a lot of other options; ThunderPunch, Ice Punch, Baton Pass, Dizzy Punch, Drain Punch, Heal Bell.. Also, note that Buneary reaches 19 Spd and 16 Atk with a Jolly nature, which is nice. Swinub (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Snow Cloak EVs: 116 HP / 196 Atk / 196 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Icicle Crash - Ice Shard - Superpower Swinub may be cute, but you shouldn't understimate it. With nice coverage and a priority move in Ice Shard, this little pig proves to be pretty strong. Earthquake and Icicle Crash are powerful STABs and Ice Shard hurts Flying-types badly. Superpower knocks out Munchlax and Scraggy.
WHY IS THIS THREAD SO DEAD Teddiursa (F) @ Eviolite Trait: Quick Feet EVs: 36 HP / 36 Atk / 36 Def / 196 SDef / 196 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Frustration - Rest - Sleep Talk - Bulk Up Pair this set with a Pursuiter. This thing works absolute wonders. By the time your opponent realizes it's Rest Talk, you'll probably have +2 and a Rest Up, which will put you at 21 speed thanks to Quick Feet and Sleep, effectively putting you at a speed faster than all non-scarfed Pokemon. Completetly viable, almost always nets a kill, and can potentially sweep a whole team if Sleep Talk likes you. With this EV spread, you actually have a decent amount of bulk after +1, as Misdreavous' HP Fighting is a 3HKO (just an example, I know you can't hit it anyway). Lgi. Exeggcute (M) @ Starf Berry Trait: Harvest EVs: 116 HP / 116 Def / 36 SAtk / 156 SDef / 36 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Giga Drain - Substitute - Protect - Synthesis Yeah this actually works. I've 6-0'd with it before. +2 Evasion and +2 Speed = gg. Subsitute is there to get you down to 25% and activate Starf Berry, and Protect will get you an extra 50% for a Starf at 25% health or less. Giga Drain is there for dealing damage and getting you back above 25% with a Sub up, allowing you to Sub again without having to Synthesis. This set is typically all or nothing. You either get 0 kills, or sweep. Bronzor @ Eviolite Trait: Heatproof OR Levitate EVs: 220 HP / 148 Def / 84 SAtk / 12 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Flash Cannon - Rest - Sleep Talk - Calm Mind Completely viable set. Use Heatproof if you hate Mixkrow/Ponyta/Larvesta/Houndoom, use Levitate if don't have a problem with Fire moves. Typically the only things that'll ever EQ you is Drilbur or Dwebble after they find out you're Heatproof. This thing is for late game clean up, and is nearly impossible to kill if your opponents Mienfoo is down, as that's typically the only thing that can reliably deal with this set. Taunt and Knock off from Mienfoo shut this set down, but this set is sexy anyway, being one of the only two hard counters to Mixkrow. Onix (F) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Sturdy EVs: 76 HP / 236 Atk / 196 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Rock Blast - Stealth Rock - Explosion #1 Revenger. I don't know why this isn't used more. Not only does it break Subsitutes, but it also has the capability to revenge something like a +2 Misdreavous at 70% thanks to Sturdy, assuming Rocks are not down on your side. Onix's dual stab is nice, and is capable of 2HKOing things like Staryu. Explosion is there for booming stuff, and does well over 70% to offensive Eviolite Mienfoo. Stealth Rock is to be used for when you know they'll switch but don't know to what, or when boom won't hit hard enough and you want to do something useful before dying. Misdreavus (M) @ Eviolite Trait: Levitate EVs: 196 HP / 116 Def / 156 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Shadow Ball - Rest - Sleep Talk - Heal Bell It's like Chinchou's Resttalk set, except it deals with Fighting types and Grass types better, rather than with Murkrow and stuff. Works relatively the same way, except you can't burn and have to switch out on Normal types. Still a very useful set. The EVs can be tweaked for max defense, or 19 speed, according to your preferences. Pineco (F) @ Eviolite Trait: Sturdy EVs: 196 HP / 196 Def / 76 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Pin Missile/Rapid Spin - Stealth Rock - Spikes/Rapid Spin - Pain Split/Rapid Spin Most underrated Hazard setter ever. Although it's definitely not as fast as Dwebble and not as much of a "guarantee" of hazards, and also doesn't do shit to Natu, it does fairly well in the LC OU metagame. It requires a lot more switching, so it works better on stall/balanced teams. Come in on stuff like Mienfoo, Timburr, etc and hazard away. Pin Missle is there for damage and breaking subs. Due to the way LC damage works, this multi hit move outclasses Bug Bite by a lot. Pain Split is for recovery and also harassment, as it can discourage recovering against Pineco. Rapid Spin is another option and can replace many of its moves. Again, EVs can be tweaked to either specially defensive, or 11 speed to outspace things like Porygon for an extra layer of Hazards. Up to personal preference.
Stunky (F) @ Eviolite Trait: Aftermath EVs: 48 HP / 188 SAtk / 28 SDef / 244 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Fire Blast - Dark Pulse - Snatch - Sludge Bomb Do you hate getting burnt by Misdreavus as you switch into it? Or die to +2 HP Fighting as it NPs while you send Lum Stunky in? No problem, just use this! Snatch is to play some games with Bulk Up Timburr / SubRoost Murkrow et similia, it runs both STABs and Fire Blast is for Ferroseed / Croagunk that resist the STABs. Straightforward set, not much to explain~
Reviving Thread ^^ I've received quite a number of compliments for my Eviolite Snover set. I decided to post it~ @ Trait: Snow Warning EVs: 196 HP / 180 SAtk / 124 SDef Mild Nature (+SAtk, -Def) - Giga Drain - Blizzard - Ice Shard - Protect Eviolite Snover has always been one of my favorite sets of all time. It truely excells in what it does. It walls most Water- and Grass-types. EV's are to increase Snover's walling capabilities as well as giving it a bit offensive presense. Moves are quite standard except for Protect. It alows Snover to scout for Choice item as well as getting some residual damage on opposing pokemon. Teammates are pokemon that can take on Mienfoo and Murkrow. So yeah, dont let this thread die!
Hmmmm... Mylo, I am not really sure about Ice shard as a move choice. Taliow/Doduo are nowhere near common enough to justify it, and maybe leech seed is better.
I've considered using Leech Seed since Snover lacks recovery and can be worn down quickly, but I really like having Priority in Ice Shard. Thanks though, I'll test it again with Leech Seed and I'll report my findings.
Wow love all the sets everyone with sand gone hail is even better to abuse and here is one abuser thats really fun to use Seel @ Life Orb/Eviolite Trait: Ice Body EVs: 236 HP / 156 Atk / 80 SAtk / 36 SDef Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd) - Fake Out - Blizzard - Protect - Aqua Jet in hail this thing can revenge kill a lot of sweepers. in order to even get a hit off a pokemon must survive a fake out, aqua jet, and 3 turns of hail damage. blizzard kills mukrow and vullaby and does good damage even while they're roosting. great at racking up damage and revenge killing. also, doesn't mind taking a hit or two when it has to. Drill run can be used over blizzard to hit chinchou harder also for the eviolite snover i recommend /ing hp fire with protect. it lets you hit magnetite and ferroseed which think they can come in on giga drain. it also lets you beat scarf snovers 1 v 1 every time.
Monkey. (Aipom) (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Skill Link EVs: 196 Atk / 76 Def / 236 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Beat Up - Last Resort - - Found this set somewhere. Forgot where though. It's really fun to see this thing demolish the opponents team. I used only this team, and faced a team of 6 pokemon, and I KO'd two of them before being KO'd myself. It fucking works.
Thanks for posting you guys. Abra (M) @ Life OrbTrait: Magic Guard EVs: 240 SAtk / 200 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Substitute - Shadow Ball - Psychic - Hidden Power [Fighting] This is the set I've been using for the last few weeks. Its pretty cool. Due to Abra forcing so many switches Substitute can be used to take advantage of that. The rest of the moveset is fairly standard. That being Psychic as STAB, HP Fighting and Shadow Ball for coverage. EVs are too. With LO Abra 2HKOs Porygon and Chinchou. So yeah its cool. Anorith (M) @ EvioliteTrait: Battle Armor EVs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - X-Scissor - Rock Blast - Stealth Rock - Knock Off / Rapid Spin I've using this a well and its pretty good. Anorith has excellent Speed and Attack. Its commonly outclassed by Dwebble as a Hazard-setter etc. But Anorith does have Rapid Spin which is a huge advantage Anorith has. Anorith is extremely frail, eviolite does give it a bit of bulk though. Knock Off is really cool on Anorith since it removes the ever present Eviolite from play. This helps many pokemon sweep (I used it with above Abra). So yeah like I said before dont let this thread die!
Exeggcute (M) @ Oran Berry Trait: Harvest EVs: 200 HP / 36 Def / 36 SAtk / 236 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Hidden Power [Fire] - Substitute - Protect - Leech Seed used this thing in a lc uu tourney and I'm pretty sure i was down 4-1 when i first sent this thing out. it is a monster. it wouldn't do quite as well in ou unfortunately due to it being weak to u turn from mienfoo brave bird from mukrow and shadow ball from the likes of missy and abra. but nonetheless a great set thats incredibly fun to use Venonat (M) @ Eviolite Trait: Compoundeyes EVs: 44 Def / 204 SAtk / 244 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Sleep Powder - Toxic Spikes/agility - Signal Beam - Psychic/stun spore/baton pass typing that provides a great 4x resistance to fighting. sleep powder is basically a spore (though it can and will miss on occasion) thanks to compound eyes. it can either baton pass an agility or set up some toxic spikes which are rather easy to keep on the field with missy barring poison types like stunky or tenta switching in. gimmicky (somewhat outclassed by fondus), but I've used the toxic spike sets high on the ladder to some success.
These were the sets I thought about, but I see that we already have a Wingull :(, I run less IVs for 19 Hps so you should need Roost less, though it can be useful when facing SPers Larvitar (F) @ Eviolite Trait: Guts EVs: 244 Atk / 36 Def / 36 SDef / 188 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Stone Edge - Earthquake - Dragon Dance - Crunch / Any move you like tbh Wingull (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Rain Dish EVs: 240 SAtk / 236 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Scald - Hurricane - Rain Dance - Hidden Power [Grass] Also I tried a HP Psychic Croagunk but dunno if it's worth a set since the rest is pretty standard Dratini (F) @ Eviolite Trait: Shed Skin EVs: 28 HP / 164 Atk / 76 Def / 36 SDef / 196 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Outrage - Rest - Dragon Dance - ExtremeSpeed Meowth (F) @ Life Orb Trait: Technician EVs: 236 Atk / 76 Def / 196 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Fake Out - Feint - Bite - U-turn I ended posting this in the General Disc. but it's a good set able of revengekilling a lot of things (Clamperl will always lose!!) and maybe of getting some good kills on pokes like Abra using Protect for Fake Out etc... Onix (M) @ Eviolite Trait: Sturdy EVs: 236 Atk / 76 SDef / 196 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Taunt / Rock Polish - Rock Blast - Stealth Rock - Earthquake Great Speed, Sturdy, Stealth Rock, Taunt and good STABs, it usually wins 1v1 vs Chinchou Adamant is an option if you like Rock Polish etc... I'd like seeing more Corphishes around too!!!
