Greetings, people of Pokemon Online! This is Soren Valenheart, once again showcasing one of my most successful teams in Wifi UU.

±Porygon: Your rank in Wifi UU is 8/5518 [1397 points / 49 battles]!

Did you know that this team has emerged from a Mono-Bug team? Here's the story:

During the UU's Monotype Challenge courtesy of Orcelot005, I signed up with an alt named "Caturog na, Nonoy" ('Sleep now, little one' in one of the Philippine dialects in the Bicol Region) and selected Bug as my main type due to a great diversity of Pokemon of that type. Way before, my Bug-type experiment was a huge failure, in which I resorted to Psychic types instead. However, the help of Illumise (thanks to Tyki7125's "What's the Word?" tournament) made my return to use Bug-types as my main type for the Orcelot005's challenge.

The "Caturog na, Nonoy" alt peaked to 1372 (currently at 1338 as of the moment) with that Mono-Bug team. From that team, I selected one Pokemon to be part of one of my official UU teams. I chose Venomoth to be the core of the team because Venomoth has been so valuable to my Mono-Bug team as it made more than 60% of my wins. After weeks of conceptualizations of how Venomoth can be supported, this team was born.

Speaking of the team itself, the team contains three cores that preserves my play style (like Fegelein's "Three Cores Meal"), as how the Pokemon in my team in the title pic were arranged. The outer core contains Bulky Pokemon; they are designed to counter the most common threats in the metagame (bar Fighting attacks, since they're both weak to Fighting). The middle core contains Choice Attackers; they are designed mostly to dent or KO, and sometimes cripple opponents and rendering them useless with Choice Items. Lastly, the inner core contains Decoy Attackers, in which these Pokemon use Substitute to ease prediction and set-up with little or no effort.

Also, did you remember Battle Realms: The Valenheart's Soul, my first-ever Wifi OU team, which was featured in this RMT nearly a year ago? This is the reason why I'm using Battle Realms as a theme for this RMT thread.

Setting all these aside, let me introduce to you, my second Wifi UU RMT entitled "Battle Realms: The Impetus of Nature". Enjoy reading!

For hundreds of years, Lord Zymeth has ruled the Lotus Clan as the undisputed first among equals. He is a master manipulator and orator, using deception and threats to build coalitions and cow opponents. In his dealings with other clans, Zymeth also uses his great longevity to powerful effect, planning schemes that span generations of Wolf and Serpent clansmen.

No one could rule the Lotus without being a wizard as well as a statesman, and Zymeth is no exception. Like most of the warlock elite he is a specialist, and his sphere is weather, the sizzling crackle of lightning or the relentless force of a summer storm.

Rotom-H is pretty common in the UU metagame, and this Rotom-H's set is pretty common, because of Volt Switch and Choice Scarf. This Pokemon is the sole scout of the team because of that very common set, and introduces the core of Choice Attackers. Since it's a pretty common set, I will not explain to you how the set works. However, as you saw the 'How to IV' note below Rotom-H's picture, there's a reason why it should be IV'd like that. Usually, Rotom-H's IV's should be 31/30/30/31/31/31 to convert its Hidden Power to an Ice-typed one. I decreased its Attack IV's to 2 to minimize confusion damage and take minimal damage from fairly uncommon Foul Plays while maximizing the power of the Ice-type Hidden Power. EV's are pretty straightforward here, as 252 Special Attack EV's and 252 Speed EV's are very optimal to outrun as much Pokemon, and dealing as much damage as possible.

Even as a slave-child, Longtooth was famous for his athleticism - leaping between rocks and swimming through the treacherous underground waterways, he astonished his masters. Meanwhile he was winning a secret fame as a boxer and wrestler in the underground fighting pits and quarries. When the uprising came, those abilities were matched by a terrifying hatred and impressive generalship. His deeds of that night have placed him next in line for clan leadership.

In battle Longtooth carries a unique weapon, a heavy bladed boomerang he has learned to hurl with astonishing accuracy. Uneven battlegrounds give him a special advantage, as his athletic ability grants him a mobility others lack.
    [/HIDE]

Slowking is fairly uncommon in the Underused environment, unlike his brother Slowbro. However, Slowking made an appearance in this team because Slowking is a popular user of Choice Specs in the LU tier, so I wanted to give it a try in this environment (I'm thinking of using Slowbro over Slowking here, to balance bulk on both sides), hence being the second of the Choice Attackers core. Moves are pretty straightforward here, but I'm also considering Psyshock over Ice Beam or Fire Blast to dent Snorlax pretty hard. EV's are also straightforward here: 248 HP EV's makes Slowking's HP an odd number, while 252 Special Attack EV's and Modest Nature lets him deal as much damage as possible.

The Shale Lord is a symbol of the Wolf Clan's enslavement, a failed magical experiment, a lonely outcast, a military asset. No one knows his real name, but he was once a Wolf Clan slave, chosen by Lord Soban as an experimental subject in his attempts to breed a better slave worker. He escaped captivity and roamed the wilderness for years - a strange stone man, faceless, voiceless, alone. When the Wolf rebelled he returned to fight at their sides, and became a hero.

In battle there is no more terrifying opponent. Naturally armored and hugely strong, he fights with his macelike fists. No one hates the Lotus Clan more, and his rage seems to increase his strength even has he battles.

Rhyperior is a great definition of a physical wall. Its base 115 HP and 130 Defense stats is something Rhyperior is to be proud about. Rhyperior's moveset is pretty much similar to other Rhyperior sets, but it is how it EV'd makes Rhyperior unique, as the EV's are designed to take on the harshest of Physical attacks aimed at Rhyperior (bar Water and Grass ones) and retaliate with powerful moves (EdgeQuake combo) coming from Rhyperior's base 140 Attack even without Attack investment.

Budo is a peasant overseer, a large man who is always seen with a barbed whip in his hand and a look of low cunning on his face, early in his career he was the target of multiple accusations of torture, wanton beatings, and callous murder. Naturally the Serpent lords saw the limitless potential in this rising star.

Budo's cruelty and stupidity became a perfect tool in the hands of men like Lord Shinja. Any province where Budo was put in charge would reliable have the hardest productivity and lowest crime-rate in the known world - albeit also the highest rate of peasant deaths. After a while the simple threat of placing Budo in charge meant a ten percent jump in the harvest.
    [/HIDE]

As Rhyperior serves as the physical wall for the team, Snorlax serves as the special wall for the team, despite both Rhyperior and Snorlax can't take Fighting moves so much. Snorlax is an all-around answer to Special attackers, such as Raikou, Suicune, and even opposing Venomoth. This set is pretty self-explanatory too, as it is designed to pseudo-haze Calm Mind attackers or paralyze them with Body Slam. EV's are modified at some point: 80 HP EV's (sorry for the typo) grant Snorlax a Leftovers number, and 252 Special Defense EV's emphasizes Snorlax's Special bulk. The remaining EV's are dumped to Defense to avoid Snorlax from being physically frail.

    How to IV: 29 / 31 / 31 / 31 /31 / 31

We do not know much about Gaihla. She dwells in the deepest, oldest woodlands, and according to the tales she is a solitary druidess or forest goddess, or something in-between. Hundreds of years old, she has been known to disappear for decades and live out the time as a giant oak tree. All forests and growing things are under her protection.

Despite her allegiance to life, she can be a vicious fighter, wielding a wreath of thorns against those who would threaten the forests. Her relationship with plant life is mysterious - she moves unimpeded through the densest undergrowth, and any crops thrive in her very presence.
    [/HIDE]

Decoy Attackers in this team are actually the stars of the team, and Virizion is one of them. This is almost a rip-off of Cobalion from one of my teams, but with interesting characteristics, such as Leaf Blade that can KO Slowbro and Quagsire almost instantly (after a +2) unlike Cobalion can (at the cost of being walled badly by Crobat). Virizion's HP IV is lowered to 29 to grant Leftovers number without sacrificing a lot of Attack and/or Speed EV's, especially that Virizion carries Substitute. EV's are straightforward for Virizion as the EV's are tuned to outrun as much Pokemon as possible and deal as much damage as possible.

Even so, some unpleasant rumors say that she got her recent position due to her relation with him. Nobody ever lived to tell the truth between them. Unlike the warlocks of the Forbidden Path, Yvaine specializes in frost magic. Her mere presence is enough to chill the bones.[/HIDE]

(13:42:51) Bamarah: His Disable Moth kicks ass

From a +16, -16 ladder battle against -NRFM- after being 4-0'd by a Venomoth
    -NRFM-: fuck venomoth

Venomoth is considered to be the most valuable player of the team--more valuable than Virizion. From the reactions of some of the people I've encountered, Venomoth is one of the most feared Pokemon (Snorlax is Venomoth's huge bane, though) to plow through most teams. One of the initial reactions from some players say "No Sleep Powder? That's a joke." Well, there's more than Sleep Powder in disabling foes easily--there's Disable, one of Venomoth's great weapons against Choice Attackers, as a move was being Disabled, the Choice Pokemon will be prone to switching out, allowing Quiver Dances and/or Substitutes to be set up with ease. There, you leave only Bug Buzz as the main STAB move for Venomoth, and worry not being walled badly--Tinted Lens makes it pretty deadly and those who take on tenacious Bug Buzzes (like Snorlax) are few and far between. I decreased Venomoth's HP IV's to 23 to grant a Leftovers (err, Black Sludge) number without sacrificing a lot of EV's in Special Attack and Speed, and I also decreased Venomoth's Attack IV's to 0 to minimize Confusion damage and minimize damage taken from Foul Plays, like Rotom-H's and Slowking's. EV's are pretty straightforward also, as it is tuned, again, to outrun as much Pokemon as possible and deal as much damage as possible.

    ---------------------------------------

Well, now you see the Venomoth set featured in this team, perhaps this Venomoth set will encompass every Venomoth set. A disclaimer to notice, though, is that I am the one that popularized that Venomoth set, and not the one who owned it.

Sorry, if the content really bores you a lot. There it is, my RMT named "Battle Realms: The Impetus of Nature". First of all, there are some fatal flaws about this team that needs to be fixed, such as the weaknesses to Entry Hazards. I have no reliable spinner in this team, thus, this team will be worn out in the long run, if not maintained properly. Snorlax is one of the huge threats in this team because Snorlax takes little from Bug Buzz due to sheer Special Bulk, and it will make Venomoth's set-ups a huge waste.

Thank you for reading this RMT thread, and I am looking forward for your constructive criticisms, advice, and suggestions. Fire them away! :)

Very nice team Soren wouldn't be surprised if you reach #1 with it.

You should be teaching me how to build a decent UU team as lately mine suck!

Haha, thanks, guys. I hope I could get to #1 with this team. It would be my greatest achievement, EVER!

New Breed, building decent UU teams is quite harder than you expect. You have to ask yourself a few things like, what play style should I use for this team, what Pokemon should I consider in building that team, and all others. My building style might have some similarities from other great UU players such as the tier leaders Kneesocks and Orcelot005, and even the newly-reigned top UU ladder player SOMALIA; actually, the team building is focused on a Pokemon that is deemed deadly at the right hands, in which everyone say that it's pretty underwhelming. You may try common Pokemon with uncommon movesets, or an uncommon Pokemon (or Pokemon from the lower tiers) which is deemed deadly even in this tier.

Actually, that alt is actually a song that our college choir sung before, so sometimes I made up alts from those repertoire.

NOW TESTING: Choice Specs Slowbro > Choice Specs Slowking. Do you have a say for that?

Well I wouldn't advise it since Slowking is a special wall and Slowbro is physical meaning you would have no special wall unless you change Rhyperior but that's a costly change and little is to be gained by it.

Look: Snorlax can take on Special Attacks almost flawlessly, and Virizion to an extent (because of its very high Special Defense).
Rhyperior is the only one that can take on Physical Attacks. You want Slowking to take on Physical attacks?

That's why I'm testing Slowbro > Slowking, and see what major impact Slowbro has in this team.

I'm not a UU expert, but I have to agree with everyone and say this is a quality team.

I'm curious what your team does to handle Mienshao, though. Rhyperior is weak to HJK, Slowking to U-turn, and Venemoth to Stone Edge. How do you minimize damage?

If you're not aware, Mienshao is also one of my concerns in this team, but not as much concerned as Snorlax. Hi Jump Kicks from Fighting-type Pokemon such as Mienshao can deal like 56%-64% of damage to Rhyperior with the EV spread, and an Earthquake can simply OHKO him.

I actually (indirectly) helped make a good team? What is this madness? I guess I have to rate this now don't I...

Team looks pretty solid. All I can say is maybe
    Slowbro over Slowking(which you said)
Rock Blast over Stone Edge on Rhyp (OwaitD4rrensaidthat)
    Dat Venomoth sux

Maybe HP Grass on Rotom, though those Flygons are always a problem...

I also prefer a Lum Virizion with Stone Edge for more coverage, and some people think it may be a scarf/band set.

Great team though, gl for #1. (now to make myself another UU team that works)

Yes. That "ACTION" made me use and appreciate Illumise, which made me return to use Mono-Bug in Orcelot's challenge.

Works well, with Psyshock over Ice Beam

Works well, too, and I'm definitely going to use Roar for some reason over Megahorn...

    Try it for yourself.

Like Virizion doesn't have a Grass attack... Anyway, taking HP Grass into consideration.

That will not matter because of Crobat outrunning ALL VIRIZION sets and using Brave Bird to oblivion, unless you're trying to refer on Zapdos, in which Snorlax covers it perfectly.

Thanks a lot! Actually, my team dropped 110 points, then making huge comebacks today! :)

Wait a minute, that Venomoth's IVs...
What do you divide by for a 'leftovers number' because it it's what I think it is:
    273/6.25= 43.68

Cool team btw (If you didn't realise, I'm stealing that Venomoth)

So what's the thing that you have to work out?
    (HP + 1)/16 ?
    273 + 1=274/16=17.125

    EDIT:
I don't want to spam this any more, sorry Soren
    Thanks Machinae

Sorry about spamming this up Soren-

Find a number thats divisible by 16. That number is your HP. Add/subtract ev's to make it +1. 272 is divisible by 16, so he did the iv's specifically so his HP reaches 273.

Nah, don't worry about spamming things here, as long as it's relevant to my team.

Also, Emperor PPP, look at how my Virizion in this team, and my Cobalion in my other team IV'd. It fills in the same purpose.
