Hello, today I wanna present to you my favorite UU team, which won me several tours on the server and even got me to #1 on the UU board for a while ^^ Here is the team: [secret] Medic (Registeel) @ Leftovers Trait: Clear Body EVs: 252 HP / 100 Atk / 156 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Stealth Rock - Thunder Wave - Earthquake - Iron Head Gtfo (Hariyama) (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Thick Fat EVs: 116 HP / 140 Def / 252 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Bulk Up - Brick Break - Payback - Rest Regina (Milotic) (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Marvel Scale EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 56 Spd / 56 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Surf - Ice Beam - Recover - Toxic Chatot (Weezing) (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Thunderbolt - Pain Split - Hidden Power [Ice] - Haze Umb (Rotom) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Discharge - Will-O-Wisp - Rest - Sleep Talk Luck>Skill (Drapion) (M) @ Lum Berry Trait: Sniper EVs: 100 HP / 156 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Pursuit - Night Slash - Earthquake - Aqua Tail [/secret] And for each member: Medic (Registeel) @ Leftovers Trait: Clear Body EVs: 252 HP / 100 Atk / 156 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Stealth Rock - Thunder Wave - Earthquake - Iron Head This guy's main mission is to set up SR asap, and then take hits later in the match. With its godly defenses, Registeel almost ensure SR is on my foe's field. Thunder wave is for slowing down common switch-ins like Arcanine, Rotom, Venusaur, Blaziken, etc. Iron head is for STAB and a possible paraflinch combo, it helps me against Mismagius also. EQ is for coverage. Evs: specially defensive version to counter Mismagius better, some Evs are in attack to power up EQ and IH a little bit. Gtfo (Hariyama) (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Thick Fat EVs: 116 HP / 140 Def / 252 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Bulk Up - Brick Break - Payback - Rest Very few things without super effective Psychic/Flying attacks are capable of 2HKO this guy after a Bulk Up. Hariyama is simply too good in today metagame, it is able to set up on the most used UU pokemon (yeah I'm talking about you, Milotic, Venusaur, Uxie, Spiritomb, Arcanine, Houndoom, Registeel, Chansey, Rotom,..). Brick Break and Payback provide good coverage, I choose BB over Force Palm because BB has the ability to break screens, BB has more power, and BB doesn't slow down the opponent, which in turn reduces the power of Payback x). Rest is the only way for Hariyama to recover lost HP besides Leftovers, and because after a couple of Bulk Up, he takes hits like a champ, so there should be no problem of using Rest ^^ Hariyama is my main way to get rid of the annoying Clefable, and it is also my main counter to mono attackers such as Spiritomb or Registeel, so yeah, it's a very important member of the team. Evs: max out spdef so he can wall special attacks better, some evs are in Def to get more boosts from Bulk Up. Regina (Milotic) (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Marvel Scale EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 56 Spd / 56 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Surf - Ice Beam - Recover - Toxic Milotic is the top used pokemon in UU, and for good reasons. Good typing, good stats, reliable recovery, ability to counter some of the most dangerous threats in UU (Houdoom, Blaziken, Arcanine, Altaria and so on), so it gets a place in my team. Surf and ice Beam to hit everything except Water-types, and Toxic is for those bulky Waters, especially Slowbro, which with a CM set may sweep my team. Evs: max HP, 56 Spdef to take Moltres' HP Grass, 56 speed to outspeed Adamant Torterra and kill it with Ice beam, the rest are in Def. Chatot (Weezing) (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Thunderbolt - Pain Split - Hidden Power [Ice] - Haze Weezing is my RP Rhyperior and RP Torterra counter. Back when I made this team, the strategy 2 RPers was so common and my Rotom and Milotic were unable to check both of the RPers in my foe's team. I added Weezing to my team after that, and it proves that it worths a slot in my team. Weezing can wall Torterra all days long with HP Ice and Haze, it can also effectively counter Rhyperior (both the Subs and RP version). Other physical attackers also have great difficulties to pass through Weezing, as I can just simply spam attacks, Pain Split when needed, and Haze away their stat boosts. Tbolt is mostly for Poliwrath and Qwilfish, and it has good syrnegy with HP Ice. Evs: maximum physical defense. Umb (Rotom) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Discharge - Will-O-Wisp - Rest - Sleep Talk Rotom, the annoying little Pokemon. Great speed, great Physical bulk, great typing, so Rotom - I choose you! Rotom provides me a way to block spin, and furhtermore, it helps me to cripple physical attackers via paralysis or burn. Restalk makes Rotom a formidable wall, as it can repetitively heal off the damage it takes. Rotom is a really reliable Registeel-switchin, as it immunes to Explosion and can cripple the ancient Pokemon with WoW, adn also Rotom doesn't mind Twave since it has Rest. Bulky Waters also has difficulties when facing Rotom, since Rotom can often take them down with a combination of Discharge+WoW+Rest. This guy also help me when I need to do random PP stall, since I won't waste any PP when Resting. Evs: maximum physical defense, since most things Rotom walls are from the physical side. Luck>Skill (Drapion) (M) @ Lum Berry Trait: Sniper EVs: 100 HP / 156 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Pursuit - Night Slash - Earthquake - Aqua Tail Drapion is my revenge killer, and its main purpose is to remove as fast as possible the Ghost- and Psychic-types of the opponent. WIth its unique typing, Drapion can take hits from Mismagius, Drifblim, Uxie, Mesprit, Alakazam, to name a few, and kill them with Pursuit or Night Slash. EQ is actually a useful tool to eliminate Electrics and opposing Drapion, Aqua Tail is for Rhyperior (only hit it when it switches in), and sometimes Gligar. This Drapion bluff a Choice Scarf like a pro, so more often than not I can catch a switch-in off guard and get a free KO (for example, Rotom switches in my EQ, then eats a Night Slash). Lum Berry is useful, because the Ghosts and Psychics sometimes try to cripple Drapion with TWave ot WoW, so Lum will heal the status, while Drapion hit them for fatal damage. Evs: 100 HP is to take Tbolt from NP Mismagius (+2 Tbolt never OHKOs Drapion, even after SR), and as +2 Tbolt from Mismagius is considered as the most powerful special attack a Ghost or Psychic can throw at Drapion, it can live through most other special attacks to do its trapping duty. Max speed to at least get a speed tie with other Drapion, the remains are in Atk. So how things work? Well, Hariyama is the star of my team, so everything supports him. The number one threat to Hariyama is the Psychic-type. Basically, after Hariyama uses Bulk Up once or twice, and the opponent has an Alakazam, Espeon or sth, he/she will definitely switch them in and use Psychic. I simply switch to Drapion and take nothing from Psychic, then Pursuit them for a KO. That's the main reason why I choose Drapion - he works nicely with Hariyama. After eleiminating Psychic pokemon, there are few things that can stop Hariyama: Phaze, Trick, a pokemon setup alongside Hariyama (mostly Bulk Up and SD users, because CM and NP users take a lot from Hariyama's attacks before they can do a thing back), and crits (come on, how can you counter this???) Against Phazer, mostly Weezing and Milotic (Haze), Altaria (Perish Song), Roar and WW (random things, who knows), I almost can handle them all with just Milotic. Opposing Haze Milotic often doesn't run Toxic, so I can just Toxic it and win the match up. Weezing doesn't do enough to Milotic while it is hit badly by Surf, and remember that I still have Rotom in the wing. PS Altaria is very rare, and Ice Beam can take it down in no time, I also has Weezing for a surprise strike with HP Ice. Roar and WW are only temporary solution to "counter" Hariyama, so yeah, I don't worry much about them. Trick, while can permanently stop Hariyama from setting up, is the easiest to counter. That's because Trick is one-time-solution, so if I can catch the Trick at the right time, well, no more Trick to worry about. I use Registeel and Drapion as my Trick receivers. Setup Pokemon in the form of SD and Bulk Up are stopped by Weezing and Rotom most of the time. CM and NP users are often Psychic, Dark or Ghost, so Hariyama can hit them while they are setting up.
Threats list Red is highly dangerous threat, Orange is moderately dangerous threat, Blue is not dangerous at all. Absol: The CB set can cause problem if I predict wrong, the SD set with Psycho Cut, Superpower and Night Slash is very dangerous, as it can KO anything after a SD. However, Drapion can outspeed and weaken it, Weezing and Hariyama doesn't mind non-Psycho Cut Absol Aggron : Hariyama and Weezing can wall it pretty well, most versions are outsped and cripple/KO by Rotom, Drapion or Milotic. Hariyama can even use it as a setup fodder. Alakazam : KO by Drapion Pursuit, Registeel can take a hit and hit back with TWave or Iron Head. Altaria : can't pass Milotic, and even Weezing, its offensive power is to low to be a threat. Ambipom : most are lead, and taken care of by every member of the team, the NPass version can be dangerous, but it's very rare. Arcanine : Milotic and Hariyama, more than enough. Azumarill : its attack is too high that I have to predict correctly to avoid a possible KO, however, I still can cripple it with WoW, Toxic, or 2HKO with Discharge or TBolt. Blastoise : Hariyama can set up on it, Rotom outspeeds and block spin, kills it with Discharge in the process, Milotic can Toxic. Blaziken: Milotic and Hariyama can wall it, however, Blaziken is often seen with Spikes, so if my Pokemon's HP are low enough thanks to Spikes, Blaziken can be a problem. Thankfully, I still have Drapion to revenge kill non-Scarf version. Chansey: Hariyama would very happy to see this fat egg, it is also Weezing's source of HP (via Pain Split). Claydol: Rotom blocks it, and can cripple with WoW, Milotic should win the match up, Drapion can KO a weaken one. Clefable: Hariyama can set up on it, otherwise, although the remains can't touch it, it also doesn't do anything to my team. Worst thing worst, I still can PP stall it. Cloyster: Rotom most of the time. Donphan: Milotic and Rotom, it can't touch Weezing also. Drapion: SD Version is a problem, especially with Taunt. However, I still can slowly kill it with Hariyama and Weezing. If my Drapion wins the speed tie, then EQ ftw ^^ Dugtrio: this thing is really hard to counter, because it basically comes in only to finish the job. I still can switch Weezing and Rotom in after a EQ, or Milotic for its other attacks. Feraligatr: Milotic can Toxic stall it, Rotom can Discharge or WoW, Weezing can just simply Haze away any stat boost. Hariyama: Weezing walls it all days, my own hariyama set up on non-WW, non-Bulk Up version, Rotom can WoW non-Guts version. Hitmonlee: Rotom can easily WoW it, Weezing walls it. Hitmontop: same as Hitmonlee, lower attack means hariyama can set up on it safely. Houndoom: Milotic and Hariyama counter it, Kabutops: in the rain, this thing is a terror, after a SD it KO everything in the team, so basically I have to hit it with whatever I have on the field to prevent it from setting up a SD. Outside of rain, Weezing can TBolt it, and Rotom can Discharge or WoW, but it's still very dangerous. Lanturn: Hariyama can set up on it, Drapion EQs it, Milotic can Toxic non-Heal Bell version. Leafeon: Weezing walls it 100% of the time, Rotom can Wow, too. It can't touch Registeel at all, which is a bonus. Ludicolo: in the rain, this can be a bit of problem, but Milotic can spam Recover and Toxic to stall it, outside of rain, Hariyama sets up on it. SD version is beaten by Weezing and Rotom. Mesprit: Drapion is a counter, Registeel can TWave, too. Milotic: Hariyama sets up on it, without Rest or Toxic, it is beaten by my Milotic's Toxic. Miltank: Hariyama can set up on non-Curse version, while Weezing and Rotom beat Curse Miltank. Mismagius: Drapion can take everything Mismagius can use, and hit back with Night Slash or Pursuit, Registeel is also a fine counter. Hariyama can KO it with Payback as well, however Hariyama and Registeel can't beat bulky version with WoW/Taunt/Pain Split. Moltres: quite dangerous with a few layers of Spikes, as it can 2HKO Milotic with Spikes support. Drapion can revenge kill it if necessary. Stall version is set up on by Hariyama. Nidoking: its movepool is huge, so sometimes it can catch me off guard. However, Nidoking can't 2HKO Rotom or Milotic, so it's not a problem. Omastar: while not a threat itself, Omastar can set up Spikes, which is very very annoying. With a few layers of Spikes, suddenly Moltres and Blaziken become so dangerous. Poliwrath: Weezing and Rotom beats most version, I just have to beware of Hypnosis. Regirock: Rotom counters it, Hariyama can sets up on non-Explosion, non-Curse version. Registeel: Rotom completely shuts it down, Hariyama always beats it 1 on 1. Rhyperior: non-RP versions get KOed by Milotic, while RP version is counter by Weezing and Rotom. Rotom: Drapion outspeeds and KO with Night Slash or Pursuit. Hariyama can set up if it doesn't have Trick. Sceptile: Specs version is dangerous, I have to predict around it, like switching Registeel into Leaf Storm, Milotic to everything else. However the SD set can catch me off guard anytime although Weezing beats SD Sceptile easily, and there is a possibility that Sceptile uses Subseed, which is annoying as hell. So yeah... it's dangerous because of its unpredictability, although every single set is completely counterable. Scyther: Rotom and Weezing counter it, and it can't live long with SR on the field. Slowbro: Milotic can Toxic it, Hariyama sets up on non-Psychic version, Rotom can Discharge for good damage. Slowking: same as Slowbro, except Drapion now can 2HKO it. However I have to beware of NP. Shouldn't be a problem. Spiritomb: Hariyama sets up on non-Trick version. Spiritomb can't do enough damage to be a threat. Steelix: Rotom counters it. Weezing can Haze the Curses, Milotic KOs with Surf. Swellow: Registeel and Rotom stop it cold. Tangrowth: I often switch Rotom in to absorb the Sleep Powder, and then go to Weezing to take whatever it uses, Milotic outspeeds and can finish off a weaken one with Ice Beam. Registeel can TWave the Sunny Day version, too. Torterra: Weezing counters it, Milotic outspeeds Adamant ones and KOs with Ice Beam, Rotom can burn it. Toxicroak: stopped by Weezing, Rotom can burn it, Drapion KOs with EQ. Uxie: Registeel feels nothing from its attacks, Drapion can hit it for high damage, Hariyama sets up on non-Psychic version, Milotic can Toxic stall, Rotom wins by spamming Discharge and WoW, and Rest when necessary. Uxie sucks. Venusaur: I use Rotom to take the Sleep Powder, and possibly burn it with WoW in the process. Weezing can take anything from it, Hariyama can set up on special variants. Weezing: Milotic and Rotom always win against it, Hariyama sets up on non-Haze version.
ohh finally a good uu team, i was waiting one to use it. I like this team (specially Haryama ;) ). I will try it and then tell you how it did.
That Rotom is the bane of my existence ;_; But seriously, I've faced this team before and can attest to how good it is. It's a great defensive core and though Hariyama never really was a problem for me in the fight the others have good enough synergy so that you actually don't really have to deploy Hariyama. I might try using this team and see if it works as good on others as it did on me. In other words, real killer team.
Jumpluff lead is kinda a problem for this team since i was stupid enough to set up rocks on the first turn as he subbed. Then he can leech seed stall all the team, and you have to fodder at least something.
I had a huge problem with this team with a Seeding Meganium, which pissed me of. Nothing in this team can 0HKOs it, +6 attack hariyama 2HKOs it at best, Milotic's ice beam is a 3hko, so yeah, bulky grass gives pretty much problems :| Funny note: hp ice from weezing did 20%, so, factoring in leftovers was something like a 7HKO...but if he seed you it becomes a big problem
All leech seeding, subbing, enoring stuff can be a thread to this team after have test it. Other then that i did use it and i won most of my battles so yeah ;)
My Internet is down all the time :"( Yeah, I have problem with subseed + encore, particularly Jumpluff (what else can use this strategy?), tbh. However, subseed alone is not a huge problem, since I can easily stall out of Substitute PP, as Rotom and Hariyama don't fear the attack of the seeders, and they can Rest anytime they want. Just switching between those two until the foe realizes that he/she is not the one getting upper hand ;P
Oh god, It's an UU Stall Team like I love them! :3 (WeezLotic+Drapion+Restalk Rotom+Entry Hazards) Registeel is awesome as a lead, but take care of Trick pixies and Moltres. For Weezing, I suggest a test with : Sludge Bomb/HP Ice/Will-O-Wisp Pain Split. Or even a Restalker to check 100% of the time, Venusaur and you have a Statuts'Absorber, too. Good job, Platinum, gg. ^^
Umb, thx for the suggestions ^^ I don't care about Uxie Tricking my Registeel, as it means my Hariyama doesn't have to worry about it ^^ I need Tbolt on Weezing to hit the Physical Waters : Feraligatr, Poliwrath and Azumarill. However as I rarely use Tbolt, I will try Sludge Bomb, maybe it is better ^^ Restalk Weezing can survive more hits, but I need both Haze, HP Ice, and Tbolt/SLldge Bomb to counter specific threats (Haze for stat-uppers, HP Ice for Ground, TBolt for Waters I mention above, or Sludge Bomb for Grass).
