Several months ago, many of you would remember the mafia statistics page where the total number of plays of each theme was listed, and a list of players who started the most themes in descending order, along with each player's favorite theme, which was the theme he or she started most. This was a good and easy way to find out which themes were lacking in popularity, or which theme thrived into becoming all the rage. Not only would it help the mafia admins/moderators decide which themes should be removed, it would be interesting for theme creators to see how many times their themes have been played, or discovering their favorite theme (I still remember mine being Fruit). The purpose of this thread is to propose the recreation of the statistics page. I think the whole mafia community could gain from it. Because of the major Pokemon-Online v2 update, now would be a perfect time to start. Please leave your opinion on this topic. Best regards, Vepix EDIT: Thanks to Master12345 for providing the link to the original stat page: http://server.pokemon-online.eu/mafiathemes/stats
I 100% agree. Oftentimes I would still go back to old threads in this forum just to check out http://server.pokemon-online.eu/mafiathemes/stats . It was definitely a nice gauge to rising star themes.
I agree with this. I want to see what of my less popular themes (that is, Dreams, Dedede and Chocobo Tales; Orre is too new to be incorporated there) is most popular, and which I should update to get more people. x3 inb4 SSBB+ is most popular of mine although Pokemon should be, Pokemon is better xD
YES, IT WAS JUST UPDATED. Interesting, FiM passed the original MLP by a bit. I'm happy now. But yeah, I need to get around making some more themes. Actually playing mafia would be nice too.
And Rotom is Top 20. I'd rather have Caterpie or Backstab above Rotom, since those are my best themes IMO. Pokemon still holds some of the numbers from the old Pokemon theme (as do Kirby). I remember Dream Land had surpassed jays' Kirby when I got the name change, so Kirby's numbers are reliable. For Pokemon, I think the old Pokemon had something between 900 and 1100 games started.
the crontab died with the server problems in may, I recreated the crontab – this will be updated every 0'clock from now on.
A few of SSBB's plays would be from before SSBB+ got its name changed, too, but probably not enough to make a significant difference. Also I like how Pokemon II is in 20th despite not having existed in ages. Why do people like Dreams more than Dedede?
Average Town beat Disney Villains XD. Also, Left 4 Dead is 88th which is by no means bad. I think there is an update in the books.
51: minecraft - 116 times (0.18%, 12.21 players in average) Neat. I'm gonna make it better for Minecraft fans at some point :D Also: 224: othello - 9 times (0.01%, 13.78 players in average) So good theme... But so less played... Also, I think this needs to be fixed: 15: Darkkis - 320 times (favourite: pokemon, 50 times) There is no way Pokemon is my favorite, I prefer SSBB, SSBB+ and Rotom... And I have started those a lot. (also, I have started Minecraft, NvP and Othello sometimes) Also, NvP isn't on that list even though it was added one or two days ago.
So, the numbers were updated once and then stopped again. The "Last Update" date is still changing, but only that. Rotom has been locked at 438 for ages.
Glad to se this Surprised that is has been started 56 times :O Never started it 45 times -update time- Happy to se the stats being update again!
I just think It takes some time to update....Well, we cant expect Lamp to update it once every month, he might be busy with other thing.
Apparently, the stats now auto-update again, but have been reset (idk to when exactly), undoubtedly due to the removal of /starttheme. Looks like my themes are both fairly popular. Yay.
I think mafia statistics should be recorded like pokemon usage statistics. We should find a place to store all these stats, and these statistics are reset once a month. Once we do this long enough, we can use this info to determine what themes need to leave and what themes need to be updated.
That being said, I do not like the idea of resetting these once a month, although disabled/uninstalled themes should be deleted every once in a while That's still smart, for MA's do delete unplayed themes/crap themes, but maybe that should be on a different page to help MA's, not the general stats
Sorry if i revive this, but I find this thread very interesting and didnt like to start another, here we go: Just this. It could be an excelent tool seeing the new mafia themes situation.
Since this thread was resurrected, could as well point that the Mafia Theme Stats page is outdated again.
