    Ok.

The problem is that you have only one tier, so even invalid teams are put in that tier. You need to create a second tier (named All, for example), select "Any Gen". That way invalid teams won't be able to enter a wifi battle and you'll be fine.

So is there any way we can import boxes from the old PO into this new one?

Yes, read "Information before update" (and delete spaces from the names of your boxes)

I downloaded it and it works :D but unfortunately I can't use the older version, because I think I have overwritten the 2.0 ver to the 1.6. Can anyone tell me if I still can play using the older version, please?

Great job with the new version. I'd like to say thanks to all the developers.

Its gonna take a while to get used to but hopefully all the players will return.

Also whoever made the "multiple teams loaded at once" feature. You're awesome thats something I've wanted forever.

I'm trying to uninstall PO and start out again. I have both versions on my computer, so I'm trying to remove them. However, it says 'Can only uninstall this program on 64-bit windows' in control panel>Add/Remove programs. Not that I know what that means, but this needs to be fixed. I can't keep PO on my computer indefinitely, it needs to be removed. Please help.

EDIT: Ok, I've fixed it with an uninstaller program. Sorry to bother. Might still be a good thing to fix though.

quick question on custom mods can we make custom abilities yet?

or is just restricted to custom pokemons+move changes?

You can, but you can only work with the current abilities. I mean you could transform a new water absorb in ground absorb, but you can't create a brand new effect. There's a mods forum under the Help forum for further questions.

I'm afraid I don't really like the new version. It's sort of half baked at this point with all the bugs, not to mention the disabled pokedex which was working perfectly fine before. My old boxes were completely gone, and importing the old box files as suggested did nothing. Also, when you update a team, you have to load a different team and then reload the old one in order for the changes to appear.

It looks nicer, sure, but at the cost of simplicity and user friendliness. The new teambuilder is nigh on unusable, at least compared to the old one. You have to click to start teambuilding, you have to click to choose to open the list so you can pick a pokemon (every single time for all 6 pokemon), you can't choose preset hidden power evs, etc. All in all it takes 2 times longer building teams and is quite tedious.

The old interface was so much better. I like the new features, but you didn't have to rehaul (and mess up) the interface while you were at it.

I'm probably whining a bit too much since I'm not used to it yet, but you can't deny that there are a few significant problems with 2.0. I'm sorry if I sound unappreciative, I really do like how you all are putting in effort and time into coding such a great simulator, I just didn't like the way you went with this version.

You always had to close the teambuilder and load up your new team in the old version. In this version you can simply add a new team, hit "save all" and then hit the actual close button to load both the new team you made as well as your older one. You also always had to click the "team" button in v1's teambuilder to start building. How is this that much different?

And sure, losing your boxes sucks a bit if you do use them, but it's not that hard to make the same sets again. Plus the box system for v2 works now.

There's a little space below the list of pokemon, where you can type in the name of one and be taken directly to it. Although there could be a search bar right underneath the sprite box to do the same thing before you have to go to that list.

You don't have to always open a new hidden window for your Hidden Power anymore, nor do you have to do the same to adjust Happiness or make the pokemon shiny/change the gender, as everything is right there unlike v1.

Those preset Hidden Power IVs? Look right below the IVs on the right hand side of the teambuilder, below where you can set the IVs. It says "Hidden Power" and defaults to Dark since your pokemon should have 31 IVs to start. If anything it didn't "mess up" the interface, since barring the search option it's much better.

I just love how most of the complaints are "I've barely used it and I hate it, so I'm going to focus on trivialities and ignore the other great new features." Either that or people are too stubborn to ask for help.

I can see both sides. The hidden power preset IVs will come back at least, they're not there because another part of the TB is currently missing that goes along. For the rest, we'll see :)

There's also now a guide on how to use the teambuilder.

Before I begin my "rant" I will say that I love PO and I really appreciate the effort everyone is putting in to make it better.
But do not deny that it is harder to make and change teams.

Searching for a Pokemon takes a lot longer
Before you just typed the name into the main window and that pokemon just appeared, now:
    1) I have to click on the sprite
    2) Type the name of the pokemon I want in at the bottom. (Note1: I have to type it in with a capital letter at the start, otherwise you also have to choose from the scroll list at the bottom) (Note2: It also doesn't always work anyway, not sure why, after I've just loaded something else it just decides that I have to start the process again and again until it starts working).
    3) I then have to find the pokemon I want on the main list (which isn't always in the same place and it's not really highlighted).
    4) Click on the Pokemon I want (why do I have to do this, I've already typed in what I want?).
The whole thing seems unnecessary and really annoying, why can't I just type the name into a box on the editing screen like before. I also can't just instantly load alternate forms e.g. Rotom-W, before I could just type "Rotom-W" into the search box and it would load Rotom-W, now it just shows the list with regular Rotom in it.

    Loading teams is annoying
I have to go back to the trainer menu to load a singular team. If I'm editing a team, then I want to edit a different one, this becomes annoying, I can't just change it on the editing team section, like I could before. I have to use the trainer menu on the teambuilder. You may say "oh you can load a single team on that window by using the load all feature" but when I press the load all team, it comes up with all my teams that I'm laddering with and then sends me back to main trainer menu when I load anything anyway. Same thing on the main server menu, I can only use the load all feature.

    Changing alts
I used to have a stall Account, A offense account and a random account and I just pressed "load team" to change accounts. Now I have to go to trainer menu and type it in?? Like what is this. I don't always want to ladder on my main account, or even be on my main account. I dunno, I'm used to using alts and the current PO makes it annoying.

My advice for changing this would be to keep the multi team annoying-ness to the find battle button. Everything else on PO seems to work smoother with singular teams, it's only when I press "Find battle" that I want to use multiple teams. It's also annoying when I look on smaller channels, because I sort players by tiers and a few people appear 6 times on there, it just seems stupid.

    Items on editing screen
It doesn't show the pokemons items on the editing section of a team, this is really useful for checking to see if you have edited that pokemon yet. Now I have to click on all the pokemon to check, or go back to trainer menu.

I'm used to the features from the old PO and I don't see why they're gone :/

Despite all this, there are loads of new things that I do really like and the loading multi teams is definitely one of them. I think loading multi teams is great, but it just seems to be involved in a lot of the new things that annoy me.

Chances are that coyo's going to implement a search bar underneath the pokemon's sprite before you have to go to that list, unless it messes with the design or something to that effect. That first part of your post is something that I'd agree on with you.

    1) Go to the top right of your client.
    2) Hit "load team"
    3) You will have a pop up showing your currently loaded teams
    4) Click the "..." box on the right hand side. You will be taken to your teams folder, and if you're not, all you have to do is go to the folder where your teams are.
4.5) If you don't have a team you want in there, then there's a button in the trainer home section underneath the 6 pokemon display, that's a floppy disc. That saves an individual team.
    5) Load whatever team(s) you want.
    6) Hit "OK"
    7) You now have 1(or more) specific team(s) loaded and are ready to go! All while not having to touch the teambuilder.

I don't mean to be offensive in any way when writing that, but this is what I mean when I said that people are too stubborn to ask if there's a way to do something.

You can save your alts in the teambuilder without having to keep typing them into the teambuilder. Anytime you want a new alt, just:

    1) Go down to where it says "save profile"
    2) Make sure you save your main or current alt
    3) go to the drop down menu directly above "Save Profile"
    4) Hit the blank space. Again, make sure you save the one you're currently on.
    5) Now your profile and all the info about it(not including your teams) will be completely blank. Type in your preferred alt into the "Trainer Name" and fill out any of the other spaces with what you prefer.
    6) Hit "Save Profile" after filling out everything you want to. Note that your teams you currently have loaded will stay the same.
    7) Hit the drop down menu again. You should now have both alts to choose from.
    8) Hit the red close button, not the x in the right hand corner of the screen, and you will be prompted to put in a password, assuming the alt is registered.

Yes, you have to access your teambuilder to change alts, and if it's not programmed where you can simply change your name without having to go in there(another thing that could be looked into?) then it only takes 5 more seconds of your time; it's literally 5 clicks to change alts once you have the names saved, so it's not time consuming at all.

The items are displayed right where the sprite is and again, all you need to do is click back to previous pokemon once or twice, which takes a second. The items are even displayed on the trainer home page:
    [IMG][/HIDE]

The fact that people show up in multiple tiers is because of the fact that they are in multiple tiers. It's really kind of counter intuitive to complain about that because of the fact that there's simply no way around that unless people only load up one team at a time :/

The items next to pictures is why I was complaining. They're not viewable all at once while I'm editing the team and while 5 clicks on the remaining pokemon doesn't seem like much, it's kinda annoying when the previous version didn't have this. I like to know which pokemon I've edited and it prevents problems when I forget to edit something.

Wasn't aware I could change alts like that, thanks. I much prefer the idea of changing alts without having to delegate each team to an alt.

I'm aware of the load all button and the little icons for saving and loading individual teams. But why do I have to affect my 6 teams that I'm laddering with, I have to remove one in order for me to edit something (e.g. if I'm building a random team which isn't ready for laddering) and then I have to re-load the team I had in my 6, so that I can ladder again. Why can't I just edit something on it's own :/

I dunno I'm still not used to the system, but it does seem like I have to do extra clicks for a lot of things.

    Actually, you can do that:

Do cltr+N or w/e in the teambuilder while you're online
    Edit your new team
Do Ctrl+Shift+S to save only that team (or click the floppy disk in the trainer menu)
Close your teambuilder with the little cross at the top right of the window.

That way you don't have to reload your team or anything.

Perhaps I was overly complaining in my last post. I still prefer the old version, but I guess I can work with this new one. Just implement all the old features like the pokedex and hidden power IVs and I'm happy. Sort of.

Change is often difficult when it comes to program interfaces that you're accustomed to.

Your feedback is appreciated and should help improve future versions of PO!
