IntroductionAfter winning a tour in nearly every other Tier, I realized that I needed to get a win in the main tier, OU. After going through many test phases, I realized it is just really hard to make a great Wifi OU team which doesn't contain weather. With 60% off my opps having it, i realized i needed one of my own. And this is the result. The Team Cloyster (F) @ Focus Sash Trait: Skill Link EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef) - Shell Smash - Icicle Spear - Rock Blast - Hidden Power [Fire] First I needed a good lead. I didn't wanted to start with Politoed, because I needed in to stay alive late game. So I went with Cloyster. Cloyster is a great pokemon to use. With Ability like Skill link and move like Shell Smash, it's just begging me to use it. I went with a mixed set but without any Sp ATK evs, because after a shell smash it's special attack becomes very impressive anyways. Focus Sash is to guarantee a shell smash and since it's in the lead position, i don't have to worry about stealth rock. HP Fire is for Scizor and especially Ferrothorn. Politoed (M) @ Focus Sash Trait: Drizzle EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Ice Beam - Surf - Perish Song - Toxic The default pokemon for a rain team. I want it to hit hard since i don't want it to be used as a setup fodder. So I went 252 sp atk evs and a modest nature. 252 Hp evs so that it can take some hits and survive longer. Ice Beam is for DD dragonite who think it can setup against me. It also hits grass types hard. Surf for STAB attack with powered up with rain becomes really powerful and can KO a lot of pokemons. Perish Song is for Ferrothorn and and Baton pass users whose complete cycle is ruined by it. Toxic is for Blissey and Jellicent. Jolteon (F) @ Choice Specs Trait: Volt Absorb EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Thunder - Volt Switch - Signal Beam - Hidden Power [Grass] Jolteon is a great pokemon to use. Super fast and really impressive sp atk, which coupled with rain and Thunder makes it a monster to use. CS is so that really low pokemons can switch into it except being severely wound. Volt Switch to scout and to run off from opposing Ferrothorn when needed. Signal beam is for the grass typed that resist Thunder and also for opposing Lati@s. HP grass is for the ground types like Gastrodon. Tornadus (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Prankster EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef) - Tailwind - Hurricane - Hammer Arm - Focus Blast With Jolteon in my team, I thought i needed another pokemon to abuse rain. Tornadus fits perfectly. With prankster and Tailwind it helps my team really well. Hurricane is for STAB and has perfect accuracy in rain so i don't have to worry about it missing combined with confusion chance it's a really good move to use. Hammer arm is exclusively for Blissey and Chansey, which otherwise wall this team really bad. Focus Blast may seem like what the? at first but it really helps it to get rid of opposing Ferrothorn without iron barbs damage, LO is to provide move power. Mamoswine (F) @ Choice Band Trait: Snow Cloak EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Ice Shard - Icicle Crash - Stone Edge I realized that I needed a good dragon counter. Well Mamoswine was just a great answer. With impressive attack stat and good movepool, well enough, it can be really devastating. CB takes it's sp atk to sky high levels. Earthquake is to provide STAB and when coupled with choice band hits really hard. Icicle Crash is for strong STAB move and ice Shard for a priority and to kill dragons before they can hit. Stone edge is a filler and hits Kyurem hard. 252 Speed evs are after Tailwind to outspeed and kill without needing Ice Shard. Dragonite (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Multiscale EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Roost - Hurricane - Thunder - Surf In the final spot I needed a pokemon that could act like a tank, with Multiscale Dragonite gets the job done. On thing in this moveset is that it isn't a Physical but a Special set. Perfectly build for rain, D-Nite has a great special movepool to abuse. In rain, Hurricane and Thunder both gets 100% acc and Surf receives a power boost from rain. Roost is to get rid of any damage and to get back in Multiscale. Since without Dragon Dance, I don't need any speed, so I went for 252 HP evs so that it can easily sponge attack and hit back. ConclusionGive your opinions about this team and how to improve it, your opinions are more than welcome to me, thanks for reading try the team and tell me how good it is. :D Importable for all. [secret]Cloyster (F) @ Focus Sash Trait: Skill Link EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef) - Shell Smash - Icicle Spear - Rock Blast - Hidden Power [Fire] Politoed (M) @ Focus Sash Trait: Drizzle EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Ice Beam - Surf - Perish Song - Toxic Tornadus (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Prankster EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef) - Tailwind - Hurricane - Hammer Arm - Focus Blast Jolteon (F) @ Choice Specs Trait: Volt Absorb EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Thunder - Volt Switch - Signal Beam - Hidden Power [Grass] Mamoswine (F) @ Choice Band Trait: Snow Cloak EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Ice Shard - Icicle Crash - Stone Edge Dragonite (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Multiscale EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Roost - Hurricane - Thunder - Surf[/secret] A newer importable that was made by the replies. Spoiler Cloyster (F) @ Focus Sash Trait: Skill Link EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef) - Shell Smash - Icicle Spear - Rock Blast - Razor Shell Politoed (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Drizzle EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Ice Beam - Surf - Perish Song - Toxic Tornadus (M) @ Choice Specs Trait: Prankster EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef) - Tailwind - Hurricane - U-turn - Focus Blast Jolteon (F) @ Life Orb Trait: Volt Absorb EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Thunder - Volt Switch - Shadow Ball - Hidden Power [Ice] Jirachi @ Leftovers Trait: Serene Grace EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Iron Head - Body Slam - Stealth Rock - Wish Gliscor (F) @ Toxic Orb Trait: Poison Heal EVs: 252 HP / 180 Def / 76 Spd Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Swords Dance - Taunt - Earthquake - Ice Fang[/HIDE]
Just saying, even though you have specs Jolty, you should run Modest because, after just speed investment, it has 359, which is able to outpace most of the tier, excluding scarfers. Timid rarely has no use, as it doesn't outspeed much. The only notable threat, would be starmie, but a starmie would run off in fear seeing a jolty. EDIT: 69 POSTS FUCK YEAH
I tried Modest Rarity but many pokemon would outspeed and kill it like Gengar, Alakazam, Dugtrio, Starmie, So i replaced it with Timid.
I'd run Leftovers on Politoed. It has 252 HP for its bulk, I don't think it needs the Sash and it really would like the Leftovers to have it last longer during the match.
The Title is misleading. Lol. Despite not liking weather teams, I see this team as very well-done. In regards to Darklight, Leftovers is generally the best option.
A lot of people are saying this is well done. Its seems decent, want to go over a few things that can make this team better :) Before the rate, a few problems with RMT itself...: Spoiler 1.) Teambuilding Process: I want to see WHY you picked things. Sure, people sometimes include that in descriptions, but the process allows raters, such as myself, to give you a more accurate rate. 2.) Include Play-Style built around: Judging by your build: Offense team. However, sometimes itsnot always easy to know this, or further more, if you created a team that was supposed to be balanced wrong. By including how you play the team, I, or any other rater, can come up with better rates. 3.) More Descriptions: Please give me more details than how the set works, I know how it works, but how does it work for your team? Details help get better rates ;) 4.) Team Preview: This helps me, or anyone else, map out what you have. I really hate scrolling down to see what you used and such, its annoying and usually throws me off so I don't rate it. So, next time, please include one :) That is finished, on with the rate:[/HIDE] Your Team [So I don't have to scroll down]: Sash Politoed|SashSmash Cloyster|CS Jolteon|LO Tornadus|CB Mamoswine|Rain Tank Dragonite Concerns: 1.) Why sash Politoed? Looking at this team, first off you got enough offense on this team, and a sasher already in your wings, which is more than enough. Two, you need rain or your team will, simply, struggle to win any battle once rain is gone. You already have an arsenal of offense, and sash Politoed is hard to keep alive you know. Plus, with his natural bulk, a sash on Politoed is kinda wasted, even his offensive sets can take two energy ball from Tails before it dies. 2.) What is Mamoswine's role on this team? By the look of things, Jolteon already absorbs electric attacks. Cloyster is more than enough to hit dragons hard, although risky, but running CB Mamoswine is also risky considering it usually never lives long in a battle. It seems like a waste of a team slot, when you could add Rapid Spin, Hazards, Steel type to resist Dragon types if needed, wish support, cleric, hazing, walling, offense. Mamoswine doesn't do anything for you that your team cannot already do itself. 3.) Whoa! Terrakion Sweeps you!: BIg ass counter, with Stone Edge, Scarf, Hazards, and CC it can sweep your entire team. Even double dance just needs a Rock Polish up to ensure GG. 4.) Tornadus and Dragonite on the same team without a Spinner? Do you want SR to kill you? Quite literally what I just said. This team will lose to stall the majority of the time dude. 5.) Where are your hazards? Every offensive team loves hazards. Every team in general wants hazards. At least SR? I would even settle for CB Stealth Rock on Mamoswine because its that important! Ok, I am going to try to patch these weaknesses up, and suggest things to help this team become stronger. So, lets go to each indivisual for the final process: Cloyster: A good guy, let me tell you, gets enough sweeps. A little nit-pick, try Razor Shell over Hidden Power [Fire]! It's STAB, it hits steel types just as hard, and benefits more from Shell Smash then HP [Fire] does because your invested in Atk, not to mention Razor Shell drops opponents defenses from time to time. Politoed: Politoed's set is... horrible. I would try the 3 attack + 1 status attack Politoed with some bulk. Its sorta like the Bulky Rotom-W attacker, it can attack but has some pretty stable defenses. I give credit to Smogon's BKC for this set, and here it is: Spoiler Politoed Nature: Modest Ability: Drizzle Item: Leftovers EVs: 136 HP | 56 Def | 252 SpA | 64 Spe Scald Ice Beam Hidden Power Grass Perish Song|Toxic|Protect|Encore|Haze [/HIDE] This set is better for your team because not only does it maintain the offensive momentum, but it will also stay alive longer, which is best for your team considering three Pokemon rely on rain for accuracy Jolteon + Tornadus: This offensive core is pretty strong. Both specially oriented, but work good. Since your using Politoed, Cloyster, and Tornadus, Jolteon is a big part of your team. Let it die, and Rotom-W will start to threaten everything, and some carry Thunder Wave for your Dragonite so be cautious. A little nit-pick however, why is Jolteon CS? Why not make Tornadus Choiced, since he usually is spamming Hurricane regardless (not to mention LO doesn't help him endure SR damage), and you can use a Baton Pass Jolteon? Since, you can pass it to Cloyster, Dragonite, or Tornadus and they all love a substitute. It still carries max speed and max special attack, with your electric STAB and HP, but it gets rid of the useless Shadow Ball and Signal Beam for something useful. Spoiler Jolteon @ Leftovers|Life Orb Nature: Timid Trait: Volt Absorb EV'S: 252 SAtk/252 Spe/4 Hp ~ Thunder ~ Hidden Power [Ice; Water] ~ Substitute ~ Baton Pass [/HIDE] As for Tornadus, Hammer Arm<Hidden Power [Ice, Water]|U-turn. Either one of those will work, just depends on you. U-turn gives it more synergy with Jolteon, while HP [Ice, Water] can hit hard with specs. Life Orb<Choice Specs Mamoswine: This is utterly useless on this team. However, I do see that it gives you some physical offense. This got me thinking, why not add SDef Jirachi to the team? Pros: - Stealth Rock - Potential Wish support - Paralysis spreads, taking out opponents chance of out speeding Tornadus. - Physical offense with ParaFlinch combonation - Steel resist Dragon, and a much-needed defensive Pokemon [unless this is HO??? I don't know, you didn't say] Cons: - Loss of priority - Loss of Banded damage Spoiler Jirachi @ Leftovers Trait: Serene Grace Nature: Careful EV'S: 252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Spe ~ Iron Head ~ Body Slam / Thunder Wave ~ Wish ~ Stealth Rock [/HIDE] Dragonite: I would reccommend not going with Dragonite. It makes you SR weak, plus you have a plethora of ways to hit on the special side, Dragonite is kind of useless in a sense. I would recommend adding some sort of Spinner to this team, however, you cannot fit one on here as Tentacreul would be a BIG dead weight to the team considering your electric weaknesses. However, SR weakness is very high, so by removing Dragonite, you can hopefully lower your weakness to SR. So, I see it act likes a tank. However, I want something that will work well with Jirachi, and guess who comes to mind? SD Gliscor. This guy is the shit dude. Its water|ice weakness allows you to abuse your variety of water types you have, so it works well with Rachi as it can cover her weaknesses. Spoiler Gliscor @ Toxic Orb Trait: Poison Heal Nature: Impish EV's: 252 Hp|216 Spe|40 Def ~ Protect ~ Swords Dance ~ Earthquake ~ Ice Fang EV Explanation: With Excadrill out of OU, that max defense isn't needed, so your better of with 216 Speed, out speeding every Gliscor, even the ones with this set. It hits hard, and with Poison Heal, can sponge hits BETTER than Dragonite, to to type synergy, reliable Poison Heal over MultiScale which breaks apon SR, and just high defenses. [/HIDE] I hope this helps! ~ Shurtugal
Ok. Dammit, i completed this review's answering and guess what? when i pressed post reply i found out i was dc'ed and i lost everything. Since I don't have much time right now i will redo it after some time. Man is it annoying to write so much and then lose it all, always happens to me..
Well, as long as it helps. Anyways, I am taking rating request if anyone wishes one, they can PM me *or anyone else that wants too*. Prob rate some other teams :J Good Luck
All right, Lemme rate darklight's team ^.^ I'm going to be a bit informal, but first things first. First things first. I can see that your team has weaknesses to a few of the big pokemon in the metagame. Including but not limited to: 1.Terrakion weakness. 2.Volcarona(!!!) Weakness. 3.Rotom-W can wash up most of your team as well Terrakion. As Shurtugal has said, Rockpolish+Stoneedge = GG. I don't think I have to elaborate on this. Volcarona. Flamethrower+HP Ice(and buz buzz too for politoed) = Byebyeteam. ACTUALLY, IN FACT, THE ABOVE GAVE ME ANOTHER POINT. ANY POKEMON,WITH FIRE AND ICE AND FILLER MOVE(HPgrassorElectricpreferably), CAN SWEEP YOUR WHOLE TEAM. Fire and Ice HPs are like the most common types, so I suggest having less volatile pokemon. 3.Rotom W. Electro beats Cloyster and Politoed, Hydropump beats Mamoswine. (Tornadus and Jolteon during rain especially) And you get 6-1. Volatile, indeed. <3 Darklight Fight my super ou team sometime :D
Well now that i've gotten some time i'm going to actually give this a rate. Spoiler Cloyster (F) @ Focus Sash Trait: Skill Link EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Shell Smash - Icicle Spear - Rock Blast - Shell Blade Politoed (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Drizzle EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 136 SAtk / 32 Spe Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Focus Blast - Surf - Perish Song - Toxic Tornadus (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Prankster EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef) - Tailwind - Hurricane - U-Turn - Focus Blast Jolteon (F) @ Choice Specs Trait: Volt Absorb EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Thunder - Volt Switch - Shadow Ball - Hidden Power [Ice] Jirachi @ Leftovers Trait: Serene Grace Nature: Careful EV'S: 252 HP / 220 SpD / 36 Spe - Iron Head - Body Slam - Wish - Stealth Rock Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb Trait: Poison Heal EVs: 252 HP / 180 Def / 76 Spd Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Swords Dance - Taunt - Earthquake - Ice Fang[/HIDE] Added Rachi and Glicsor though i Went with More or less the Standard SD Taunt Gliscor as opposed to the one suggested above, though i moved 1 point from Bulk to speed on both of them as to slip past the Pokemon that EV to beat Max+ Tyranitar (which they are normally EV'd to do themselves). The Politoed set MAY seem Strange, it is one of my own design, I has enough power to 2HKO the most Specially Defensive Tyranitar with Focus Blast in sand, while outspeeding 100 Speed Bandtar, and the rest went into Bulk. HP Ice On Jolteon is to Hit Dragons while still getting Grasses, Shadow Ball allows you to keep Hitting Psychics. HP Fire is pretty much useless in rain so i gave Cloyster Razor Shell. and Torandos has U-Turn for Scouting.
Spoiler Gliscor in Rain?? won't that make it even more frail to water type attacks? I had HP Fire just for Ferrothorn, and this is the reason why i had Cloyster in the lead. Cloyster never switches out or rarely switches out it just stays until it dies and this is why rain isn't really present there. I like Jirachi in rain good idea, but I think sub cm set will be better. With Mamoswine gone for Jirachi, won't Dragons just destroy my team with any Ice attacks? I think Ice Beam will be needed to counter them although if you have a good idea, please tell me so. I had HP grass on my Jolteon only for Gastrodon who otherwise destroys any rain team, and since no HP ice Jolteon would've been grass type weak so i went for Signal Beam BTW Shurtugal, i think my replies to Littlenarb and Fidgety should answer many of your questions, Thanks for your reply I have taken many ideas from your reply.
With Mamoswine gone, your afraid of Dragons when Jirachi resists with Steel typing. And also, Gliscor is weak to water regardelss, like, if rain WASN'T up, would you keep it in to take a water hit? No. So why would rain make a difference? GLiscor is great to counter Sand and Sun, which is helpful in case you lose rain. Also, did you know that Gliscor hates taking Fire Blast? Rain actually HELPS it sponge hits like that :) As for Ferro beating Cloyster, since you no longer run HP [Fire] you aren't forced to lead with Cloyster. Cloy has monster defense stat and it can actually best take phy attacks w/o boosts so if your worried about hazards ruining its sweep, don't, because he should be able to take any one phy hit from the opponent. Razor Shell is just so much better, and it allows you to pick/pre leads. As for Rachi, SubCM would not be better. The purpose is for Stealth Rocks and Paralysis support. It doesn't need to sweep, it needs to support your team, because w/o rocks Dragonite really does become a problem. Although Poli is a safe check to DNite. Also, HP [Ice] on Jolteon will counter Dragons. Gastrodon is less common than dragons, and on top of that, Cloyster can take a hit from it and start spamming iceicle spears on it, while Hurricane is a safe 2HKO on it. Also, the Politoed set I recommend can actually OHKO-2HKO Gastrodon. I actually like Taunt on Gliscor over protect, as it can break stall better, but both work fine. I personally don't think you need to run the standard defensive set, as the speed and defense on my set is enough, and it gives you the offensive momentum you seek. However, I suppose Smogon has their reasons for their EV spreads. Anyways, hope this helped ya see what counters ya got and don't got 'n such, GL, Shurtugal
ok, Taken both yours and Fidgety's replies into effect, Dragonite is replaced with Gliscor and Mamoswine is replaced with Jirachi. and BTW any other comments?
@ Shurtugal and Darklight I understand your shock regarding Volcarona weakness. However, I have anticipated it and thus put a !!! next to it. Please Do note I refer to Quvier dance volcarona. Number one, Rain only removes 0.5 from Fire attacks(the opposite of 1.5x, which is also equivalent to a +1), meaning 1 Quiver Dance offsets the rain disadvantage. +2 Quivers ensures a OHKO for the whole team. Tornadus? After Quiver Dancing like a beitch, Tornadus won't stand a chance because of +speed and +Special defense. HP Ice kills tornadus on the spot. Jolteon DOES NOT outspeed a plussed Volcarona. Timid choiced jolteon may, but +2 Volcarona, I can bet my socks, will outspeed dat jolty. Gliscor? LOL HP ICE Politoed? Lolnoslowfag. Owait, sash + perish song? Don't worry I can kick off 3 of your pokes + I have 5 more left Mamo? Rachi? Flamethrower. Super effective and +1 guarantees an OHKO. Moral of the story: Volcarona + Quiver Dance = Team rape. Also, if you think Volca can't have enough time to Quiver, think again. Volca can switch in(revenge?) on a pokemon that can't take it, so darklight will switch, causing a free turn to Quiver. Then we have GG.
Fidgety says all. Littlenarb no one is stupid enough to let the opponent get so many quiver dances, if you go that way, then even a dustox will defeat me. And if the opps does gains so many dances, you lose anyway so just forfeit.
Haze? i don't think it's needed, if volcarona gets enough quiver dances to destroy my team, Politoed won't survive to haze anyway, and if Volcarona cannot sweep my team then Politoed will destroy it with rain+stab surf anyways, no need for haze.
Well anyway, I have thought of another hole in your team. The weakness to the commonly seen 'BoltBeam'. Say, Starmie with Hydro Pump, Thunder, Ice Beam and Recover/Filler wishes to fight your team, Thunder = Tornadus(Starmie is faster), Any Water Type Ice Beam = Gliscor, Dragonite Hydro Pump = Any others that do not get super effectived. Don't forget Free Rain + Stab + monstrous sp A Your team is wrecked. The only saviour to your team is jolteon. However, if we give Starmie a little sash... Then its GG jolteon. NO SETUPS, NO VOLCA. Rebuttals? I also suggest adding a Swift Swimmer(The first one that comes to my mind is Kingdra) to your team to compliment rain hax. Oh and give me some feedback for my UU team too? ^.^ other thread <3
Littlenarb Drizzle+Swift Swim is banned, do you really think I am stupid enough not to use it for no reason? And no one uses Focus Sash midgame, it's too risky, although you are right, Choice Specs Starmie can cause trouble, but Multiscale Dragonite checks it.
I was going to say "add Kingdra to counter Rain Teams", but this is a Rain Team, and yes, DrizzleSwim is banned. Jolteon outspeeds Mie, but it's not switching in. It can IF the opponent decides to Tbolt, but any remotely good user would know that you have both Mamo and Jolt on the team, which are immune. Unrelated, but 200 posts. I'm addicted and I just can't get enough~
@Blitz he has Gliscor and Rachi over Nite and Mamo (for a more accurate variation of the team look in the importable i put in though it isn't necessarily what the team looks like).
Oh. Didn't notice. Thanks ^^ Gliscor and Jirachi have good synergy between them. Though, Starmie is a threat. This team is still well put though.
ok, so every new guy that sees it, I have added a new Importable along with the old one, check the new importable for errors and tell me so that I can fix it.
I still think Specs Torn and LO/Sub Jolteon work better, Reason: Torn is always spamming Hurricane, and with SR doing 25%, LO just ruins it w/o a spinner, which, you have no room for. Jolteon can pass a substitute, and member like Torn, Jolteon, Gliscor, Politoed, Jirachi, and even Cloyster love sub. You don't need the coverage moves signal beam and shadow ball, as Thunder and HP [Ice] hit everything Jolteon needs to hit. Politoed should be defensive so it can last longer, but all around, its a great team regardless, GL
Seconding Shurtugal's points the only reason to so much as look at HP Grass in OU is Gastrodon and as 4 out of 6 members beat it (politoed toxic Stalls, Tornados overpowers, Rachi EVENTUALLY Para-Flinches, and Cloyster Destroys it with a +2 Icicle Spear), so HP Ice + Shadow Ball is more Useful. Also Seconding a more Defensive Toed, though the set i posted above could also work (it is designed to beat Tyranitar who is while not a direct threat a minor headache as it can just fuck with the weather making it harder to get sweeps and toed does bait tar to begin with, it can also 3HKO Ferrothorn though 4 considering Seeds and SD-Taunt Gliscor is better suited to combat it anyway), Remember the biggest issue with the defensive Politoed sets is the base 90 SAtk with only a couple good support options the set i have above gives it bulk and some power.
I also agree with what shurtugal said, Specs Torn is better for hurricane spam. However, subpass is not very good by itself IMO, how about we add some +1s along with the sub? actually after I think of it jolteon should keep signal beam, some psychic and dark types are a bitch
Jolteon's set is replaced with Life Orb, Shadow Ball and HP Ice instead of Choice Specs, Signal Beam and HP Grass, Tornadus is now a specs version.
I would rather use signal beam for Jolteon, there are more dark types in the metagame than ghosts for example your fancy weavile's wife, froslass
Littlenarb Dark Types take more from Thunder than Signal Beam Super Effective doesn't mean that it does more that a neutral move.
Hydreigon, t-tar, and scruffy are like the only dark types in ou. Hp ice for hygreigon, and thunder 4 scrafty. What jolteon stays in on t-tar? Shadow ball hits psychic and ghost alike, and psychic types are fairly decent in ou with latios, Latias, reu, alakazam. But, IMO, he's mostly going to spam thunder and hp ice, signal beam useless, On iPod...
