    Introduction

Hello. This is my new balanced offense team, that I made for my friend Max and IMP Smile!. I used the nicknames of some IMP members for the nicknames of my Pokemon, because they've all been so nice! This hail team was a real challenge to get it to work, I made tons of versions, but I believe this one is quite good and can take on the many threats in the metagame. I hope you guys will like this team and have fun playing with it.

    Teambuilding

I started of with Abomasnow, since I need it for a hail team.

My immediate choice after Abomasnow was Kyurem, because I can't imagine an offensive hail team without Kyurem.

    [IMG] [IMG]

This already gave me two fighting and rock weaknesses, a fire weakness and a weakness to steel and dragon. To cover all these weaknesses at once, I decided to add Starmie and Jirachi.

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

After that I added Gyarados because it gives me extra protection versus fire and fighting moves and also counters Volcarona who I hate so very much. Besides that it can tank most physical stuff and still be offensive-orientated with Dragon Dance.

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Last, I came up with Landorus, because it gives my team some extra momentum in Uturn and physical firepower. Besides that it helps out versus the annoying sand and sun teams that float around on the ladder.

    The team

    Joe (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Serene Grace
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 220 SDef / 32 Spd
    Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
    - Body Slam
    - Fire Punch
    - Iron Head
    - Stealth Rock

Jirachi may seem awkward on a hail team, that usually have a big fire-weakness, but it gives me great resistances in dragon and especially rock, which the team really needs. Besides that, I made sure I only have 2 fire weak Pokemon on my team to keep it safe. The moveset is what I usually use and works great on almost every team. EV spread is standard too, you know this one by now.

    Max (Abomasnow) (F) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Snow Warning
    EVs: 252 Atk / 144 SAtk / 112 Spd
    Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)
    - Blizzard
    - Ice Shard
    - Hidden Power [Fire]
    - Wood Hammer

Abomasnow is there to provide hail. I made the set as offensive as possible, because I don't want Abomasnow to slow the flow of the team, I want it to contribute to it by being offensive. Hence, I chose a set that hurts almost everything very hard, bar Heatran. The EV's are there to outspeed Scizor if you predict it's going to U-turn instead of Bullet Punch, full attack to make great use out of Wood Hammer and Ice Shard. Leftovers to keep Abomasnow alive longer, but an Expert Belt can be used.

    John (Gyarados) (M) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Intimidate
    EVs: 252 HP / 248 Def / 8 Spd
    Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
    - Waterfall
    - Dragon Dance
    - Substitute
    - Earthquake

Gyarados is there for a fire resist and to mainly go up against hard hitting physical stuff to cut off their attack with Intimidate. I did not want to use my standard bulky set, because that would slow the team down, which is not what I want. Therefor, I chose to make a very bulky set with Dragon Dance, Substitute and Earthquake, to take on some of it's counters, Jellicent and Ferrothorn. After intimidate Ferrothorn can't break your Substiture and Jellicent can't break it to begin with. It also is my counter versus Volcarona, who is naturally an enemy to an offensive hail team.

    Dice (Starmie) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Natural Cure
    EVs: 252 HP / 28 SAtk / 228 Spd
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Thunder Wave
    - Surf
    - Recover
    - Rapid Spin

Starmie gives me another fire resistance and adds some speed to the team, while slowing the other team down with Thunder Wave. I gave Starmie some extra bulk so it can be a backup counter to Scarf Terrakion and can keep switching in on Heatran. Thunder Wave is generally because I love to paralyze stuff since I know how annoying it is. It also gives some support to my Kyurem. Named it after Dice, because I know he's asexual like Starmie.

    Ashton (Kyurem) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Pressure
    EVs: 52 HP / 220 SAtk / 236 Spd
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Blizzard
    - Focus Blast
    - Substitute
    - Dragon Pulse

And this is me! Kyurem is just an amazing asset for my team team, it gives me a lot of firepower. The moveset explains itself and so the the EV's (outspeed Mamoswine and 101 Substitutes so they cannot be broken by Seismis Toss). Kyurem can sub up versus a lot of Pokemon, most notably Rotom-W, who can't break it's sub with any of it's attacks (unless carrying Choie Specs or HP Fighting / Steel / Dragon). Another rock weakness, but I just have to use this thing, because it's cool and because it's just so good. In hail, nothing likes to switch in on this thing, except a special defensive Jirachi. Even Chansey has a hard time keeping up with the incredible powerful Blizzard and Focus Blast, which may cause a frozen status or special defence drop.

Fabian (Landorus) (M) @ Expert Belt
    Trait: Sand Force
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
    - U-turn
    - Earthquake
    - Stone Edge
    - Hidden Power [Ice]

And last, a Landorus, who I seem to really like lately. I'm using an Expert Belt this team to trick all those noobs out there! I've tried many things in this spot, like Dugtrio and Gastrodon, but I found that Landorus helps me the most. Landorus helps against sand and sun-teams. Rain teams usually have a weakness to hail teams to begin with so that's taken care of as well. Landorus also gives my team some extra momentum with U-turn, which is very good for an (semi)offensive team like this.

    Conclusion

Again, I hope you guys like this team, because it's something I haven't done before (hail). If any of you have a good idea for my next #1 team, I'm always up for ideas. Love you all and see you next time!

    - Stealth Rock

    Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)

    - Wood Hammer

Pretty cool team with some unique pokes/movesets considering it's a hail team. I have seen that Starmie-set in action, and it works so well!

Ohh, also, aren't you a bit Terrakion weak with this version? The only thing you have that outspeeds is Starmie, and nothing on the team is going to enjoy a Banded Stone Edge (except Jirachi, which can't take a Close Combat)!

PS. Meanie making me Abomasnow! I thought we settled on me being Kyurem! ;)

Of course all non-stall hail teams fear Terrakion, however I think I got it covered pretty good. Both Scarf and CB versions are taking care of with predicting correctly, Close Combat is go to Gyarados, Stone Edge to Jirachi. Gyarados can take a Stone Edge after Intimidate easily and KO back with Waterfall. If it's not a Scarf version, Starmie outspeeds. The main point is that Terrakion can't really switch in on anything, only after something has been KO'd, so it's not getting a chance to setup or come in multiple times.

Have been using this team, and this is just mind blowing. A hail team which made rank 1. Kyurem is one of my favorite pokemons. You are just awesome man.

    I love the Gyarados set.

I've been trying Expert Belt Aboma. It's not too bad, though sometimes that precious recovery is needed.

Anyways, congrats on Number 1 again ^^

Not really, Blissey is 2HKO'd by Wood Hammer. Jirachi, Gyarados and Landorus can also take it on and Starmie and Kyurem can stall it out with Pressure, while Blissey can't break Kyurem's Substitute with Seismic Toss. Chansey is even easier to take on with Kyurem, since with the lack of Leftovers, it has to Wish or Softboiled about every turn to keep up with Kyurem's power attacks. With some Stealth Rock in play this all becomes even easier.

nice team, and gratz on #1 yet again. Couldn't Sand-Based Semi-Stall running pursuit Tyranitar be an issue (particularly if said Tyranitar is Specially Defensive such as has been on a couple of my more recent teams), Tar Traps Starmie and with no LO and minimal investment in SAtk Starmie's Surf isn't doing too much to it while Tar KOs and then you get hazard Stacked, which is really back as the 2 most important pokemon on your team (Obamasnow and Kyurem) are weak to rocks and grounded making them Susceptible to Spikes and T-spikes.

Another awesome team! I think I saw a couple matches with that Aboma and it is surprisingly effective. Your Gyarados spreads never cease to amaze me, either. I just saw that you posted another RMT two weeks ago and it, too, is completely unconventional yet so successful. Great work on being able to build and win with original teams!

Good question, mainly just hitting it hard with the Pokemon that is currently in, followed by sending Starmie or Gyarados in and finishing him off. Of course you could easily deal with him by adding Psychic on Starmie or Bounce over Earthquake on Gyarados (I had that before because it's a better choice than Earthquake, but I don't like the shaky accuracy).
