Welcome to Pokemon Chat! A place to chill, have fun and talk about nearly anything under the sun that is related to our favorite anime with fellow forum-goers. This forum has a much more relaxed atmosphere than the competitive discussions and other, more 'serious' forums - or so I hope :)

However, that does not mean that this forum is free of all rules and regulation or that you can post anything and everything here. To maintain some order and preserve an enjoyable atmosphere without letting things run free, please adhere to the following guidelines. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.

    1. Do not post topics that have nothing to do with Pokemon

While this should be a given, I'll emphasize that any topics posted must have something to do with Pokemon. General Chat exists for all other topics. The thread will simply be moved in mild cases but more severe ones may merit disciplinary action.

    2. DO NOT POST ANY FORUM GAMES

This one is very important. The Forum Games forum exists for these.

    3. Maintain an Acceptable Quality of Posts

This is not the most serious forum, as stated, but that does not excuse poor quality. Try to keep posts relatively on-topic and free of insults, spam and inflammatory content. You can joke with your peers of course but posts with malicious intent will not be tolerated.

    4. Do not post threads to ask a simple question or clarify a simple point

I have seen many threads started to ask a short, simple question about some aspect of Pokemon. Such threads receive a response fairly quickly, following which they garner no further discussion and have no reason to exist, especially so in the cases where the question could have been resolved with a simple Google search on the asker's part. To avoid thread clutter, please used the allotted Question/Answer thread. Any threads falling under this category will be either moved to the Q/A or deleted.

    5. Do not not post RMTs here

You'd think I wouldn't have to specify this, but you'd be surprised. The Teams Forum exists for a reason. Do not post here asking for help with your team as this is not the place for that.

    6. Try to ensure that your thread does not belong elsewhere

A more general version of rule #5. If you want to discuss sets of a Pokemon or a particular competitive strategy, perhaps the corresponding metagame forums would serve your thread better. Ensure that your thread would not be better placed in a more specialized forum.

    7. DO NOT ADVERTISE WITHOUT PERMISSION. PERIOD.

It is against the forum guidelines. This forum is not the place for you to advertise your YouTube channel or Pokemon site.

Please note these guidelines are not comprehensive. There may be something I left out or omitted, though I feel this covers pretty much everything. They're not too restrictive and everyone who posts here ought to keep them in mind.

    Enjoy your stay here.
